Karah closed her eyes. She was still pretty pissed her parents were forcing her to move, and to some town in Virgina. Mystic Falls? She couldn't quite remember the name, it wasn't important to her. She would much rather be in her quaint New Orleans home, but thanks to her mom's job transfer, she could kiss it good-bye. When she opened them, they were pulling into the driveway to a family-styled two-story home. Sighing, Karah opened the door and got out after her parents. "This is it, we're home." Her father said, turning to face her. Yeah, Karah was nineteen and didn't have to move with her parents, but she did love them dearly and wasn't quite ready to be on her own just yet. Karah didn't reply, but just grabbed a few bags and followed them inside. It wasn't too bad, she could get use to it. Thankfully, she didn't have to worry about the whole starting at a new school, since she graduated last year. She found her bedroom, the biggest one next to the master, and sat down on the already equipped double bed. It wasn't terribly uncomfortable.
After unpacking a few things, she asked to borrow the car to do a little shopping and check out the town. She started it up, buckled up, and headed downtown. She parked behind a black SUV and got out. It was dark, maybe around 7 or 8 at night, and several policeman patrolled the street. Frowning a thinking how odd this town was, she noticed a sign that read Mystic Grill, after her rumbling stomach begged for food, Karah walked inside. Except for a few teenagers wondering around, playing pool it was basically deserted. She made her way to the bar, where one man sat, and from the looks at his he was devastatingly handsome. She sat down a couple seats from him and tossed her brunette hair behind her shoulders, her emerald eyes facing the bartender, ordering some fries and water with lemon. Sighing, Karah took her iPhone out from her pocket and selected Jodie, her best friend from New Orleans. After sending her a text, telling her how depressing it was here, Karah sat it down beside her.
Despite her hardest efforts, she turned over to look at the mystery man. "What's going on out there? I just moved here, actually just arrived a few hours ago, so I'm sort of new." She said, angling her body at a more comfortable position to look at him. "I'm Karah. Karah Burrows." She said, offering out her hand but drew it back quickly. Oh god, why did I just do that? It's so old-fashioned! She yelled in her head, but she maintained her charming smiled as she faced the man. His piercing eyes seemed like they were staring deep into his soul, his skin so light and soft to the touch, and she was a sucker for rugged good looks. Karah caught herself thinking thoughts she shouldn't be thinking, especially with a stranger, and brushed them off. For God's sake, she didn't even know his name!

Elijah had left Mystic Falls briefly after they caught Rebekah. He tried what he could, but there wasn't really a lot he could do. After lots of thinking, he decided to just go back. Niklaus was still there, and Elijah had no doubt in his mind he would try something destructive. So, after much consideration and arguing with himself, Elijah came back to Mystic Falls, but he needed to find Elena first. He strolled through her neighborhood, where there were no police, but he couldn't catch on with her scent. Frowning, Elijah figured they left, which was a wise choice. A new vampire in a town full of mainly humans wasn't such a great idea. They wouldn't be gone long, though. Elijah knew that, unless they have already been caught.
Elijah stopped, raising his head in the air, closing his eyes. He caught a scent, not Elena's, but a more.. alluring scent. Elijah followed it, and it led him to a woman. Blond silky hair that looked soft to the touch fell down in her back in cascades, her outstandingly beautiful eyes searched, but for what? Her supple body had curves in just the right places, her skin glowing. Elijah strolled towards her. "Excuse me, may I help you? It's not safe for a woman to be wondering the streets when it's dark, especially one as beautiful as you." Elijah commented, giving the girl his most charming and best smile. "Let me walk you home, or to wherever you may be going." He added on. He didn't know what it was about her, but he wanted to get to know her more. The Elena and finding his sister thing would have to wait until the morning, it would be safer, more unexpected for the police.
