    The School of Magic

Yesterday a group of aspiring young people were brought into this world. Not by conventional means of course, that is quite too long ago to start a story. Instead they were summoned by Wizards from a universe separate from their own, that being Angostos. Those transported can not remember the entire process, the stress of jumping from one universe to the next was too much, only flashes of light would not feign from their memory. If anything at all was left. Most would wake in a bed that did not belong to them, for the first few seconds after granting the illusion that their entire lives had been naught but a dream. Others would wake much later in a nurse's office being examined for any abnormalities, interdimensional diseases and later on perform an interview in case a piece of their soul had been lost in the warp. Though some would never wake again, unless awoke in a coffin by the hands of a necromancer. Their first day was mostly quiet. There was much to contemplate about and those that had knew more would be vague or say something like, "Have patience". They each were put in a bedroom along with another in their same disposition.

The next day was more fruitful. Each member of the group were escorted to the courtyard by a short, high-pitched woman in brown robes. There they were met with a multitude of chatter and traffic from what looked like a large flock of students in the central hub of their campus. A taller man in red strode up to address them, waving away the escort.

"My name is Charles and I am here to give you a tour of the grounds." he said, "First off, you all have one thing in common. You were not born in this world. Each of you has been transported from your universe to ours. We did not do this entirely against your will, as each of you have the will to have some great adventure, and if you do wish to return you certainly may. However, there is still time yet to make decisions and we still have yet to explain what this place really is."

"The city you have dwelt in yesterday is named Akadimia. It is a place for scholars to learn and more importantly to teach. But the subject of academics is magic. Real, physical, almost living magic. We are here to take whatever life you had and increase it twentyfold with the addition of arcane arts. Name any impossible feat you may think of and it can be done with enough training and study. You can each even tame a dragon as your loyal guardian and companion which will grow along with your magical power."

    "Any questions?"

Aedin kept his distance from the crowd, but stayed within hearing and sight. He was uncomfortable in large groups and far preferred isolation to socialization. However as soon as Charles asked if they had any questions, two came to mind. "I have two." His voice was clear and direct. "First, what are the rules you have for our personal items, particularly weapons?" He touched the sword strapped over his shoulder. It was the only thing he had brought with him when he came. It was the only thing his mother left for him. "Second, what will be done about students that already have a head start with magical training?" His father, had started training him in magic use as soon as he showed the aptitude for it. Being well-rounded he was also trained in some sword fighting as well as some martial arts. Aedin had already figured what he wanted to focus in for magic, it would be something that would augment every skill he had and more.

Aiurnus flexed his wings slightly, listening as the man spoke. It had been an interesting two days. He had gone to sleep with Azure next to him, fully planning on either going exploring, or fighting the approaching Valayans, depending on if his help was needed or not. Then, all he remembers is a flash of light, and he awoke in a strange bedroom, with Azure hissing and snapping at several people who came to close to Aiurnus. A few quiet words from Aiurnus, and the griffin had calmed down enough to only glare at all those around him. They had then been moved to a bedroom where a massive armored man and his equally massive armored dog resided. They each didn't offer much conversation to each other, the man muttering to himself.

Aiurnus thought he caught the words 'coffin' and 'dead'. Now he was here, a few feet behind the group. The man asked if they had any questions. Aiurnus blinked his solid green eyes, and with a few powerful thrusts of his wings, was airborne above the group with Azure. "Just one question from me. How soon can we get a dragon?" He called. He hoped he wasn't causing any problems down below him, as he was only a few feet above the group. Azure piped up from his lazy circling of Aiurnus. "And why did you teleport us here instead of asking nicely?"

Of course, no one would be able to understand him unless they understood Nobletongue. Aiurnus responded in Nobletongue. "Well, I assume it's because we were to far away and surrounded by an army of Valayans." Azure responded in kind. "No need to get sarcastic." Aiurnus chuckled. "I wasn't being sarcastic. I was responding for Charles. With a little bit more stress on army and Valayans." Azure simply huffed in irritation and settled on Aiurnus's shoulder. "What, are you to lazy to fly?" "Yes." Chuckling once more, Aiurnus turned from his conversation in Nobletongue to the conversation at hand.

    ------------Gregor and Slavin-------

Gregor had been having a rough three days. First, the Rebels had been hounded by Valayan Valantian troops from mountain top to mountain top in what had once been Avarian territory. Then, when they had finally caught a break, instead of standing watch while the others slept, Gregor had, as far as he and Slavin remember, seen a bright light, then awoken to seeing a room full of coffins, as his head was on a table.. Naturally irritated, Gregor had shoved his fist through the lid of the coffin his body was in. Terrifying several people who had brought him there.

A stream of profanities issuing from him, Gregor directed his body to his helmet, slamming into and knocking over several coffins in the process, and placed his head back on his body. Just in time to stop Slavin from murdering those who had put him up on display. A quick explanation from those who had put them there followed. "We took off the helm, and saw there was no head so-" the man began, "SO YOU PUT US IN A COFFIN!?!?" Gregor roared, practically shaking him. "Yes. Usually, no body, means they were killed in the teleportation trans-" "YOU TELEPORTED US AGAINST OUR WILL?!?!" "Not exactly! Look, go to this room and all will be explained tomorrow!" The man said, thrusting a room number into Gregor's hands, and then pushed him out of the room, shield and all.

They quickly found the room, already with their roommates, an Avarian and a griffin, each to tired to do much besides barely acknowledge Gregor and Slavin before falling asleep. Gregor and Slavin, having no need for sleep simply awaited the next day. When the next day arrived, they were escorted to where they were now, listening to a man, Charles. "I've one question. How soon can we leave?" Gregor asked from his towering position in the midst of the group. Slavin asked his own question, broadcasting telepathically, rather than just to the individual so all could hear him. "My friend and I have a war to fight. How fast can you get us to where we were? Or even better, can you get us with our allies?"

    ------Zalchin-----------

Zalchin sighed. He had asked for reinforcements to eliminate the Avarians and rebels once and for all. Experienced reinforcements. What had they given him? A bunch of recently awakened and recruited Fallen Valantians. Not that they wouldn't be useful, but they would need to be trained and taught in the ways of this particular war. Which was why he and a few veterans were going to give the recruits on the job training. When they started walking Zalchin had said only one thing. "Do what I and the superior officers do, and you'll be fine. Don't do that and..." He shrugged.

"You'll die." With that, they started off on patrol. A few miles into recently taken territory, the Avarians dropped large boulders, designed to crush the Valantians. Or so it appeared. Zalchin and the veterans leapt out of the way. Most of the recruits followed suit. Except for two. One stopped the boulder above him completely, and looked about perplexedly. For about two seconds. Then two arrows ,driven by the speed and power of wind, punctured where his seals that kept his soul to this world. He screamed briefly, then fell over, a useless pile of armor, dead. The second one simply changed the path of the boulder. It seemed smart. At the time. One arrow hit his neck seal, while a blast of wind sent the boulder directly on top of him. His screams lasted longer than the first one, as he has more time to feel pain before the boulder crushed his remaining seal.

Zalchin moved out of cover, muttering a curse followed by the name Guerden, viewing the corpses. "Rule number one. Don't do anything to the boulders. Just avoid them." He said to the recruits, who looked on in silence.

Chell Cree was nearing on her last year of high school and everyone wanted to know what she was planning on doing next, she was struggling with what her parents wanted her to do, the logical things to do, and what she wanted to do. Although Chell wasn't entirely sure what she wanted to do. Over the last week she had been really stressed out for several factors, then one night she practically passed out once her head hit the pillow. Then she awoke in a strange place.

Chell went through yesterday like she would any day, except a lot more questioning to her own sanity. At first, when she awoke somewhere new, she figured it a dream. Which many people might have thought at first, but Chell quickly caught on. Due to her constant day-dreaming and attention to detail her deams were more realistic looking then most, so she learned to check for 'color-lag' if she suspects something. Though she never did it much, Chell figured it couldn't be a dream, a hallucination maybe...

Chell has just been doing what she needed, being even quieter then usual. With questions but more for herself then ones to ask to others. When Chell was in the back of the group, going over what she was just told she strengthened her fear of being insane, because this was exactly what she had always wanted which seems strange at the lest. Though she started calming down, thinking What the hell, I'll ride this out as long as it goes.

Tkay Surrum stood at the front middle of the group, taking in as much as she could. Her eyes light up when she heard this place was a school. At home people were pressuring her to figure out what she was going to do next and all she really wanted to do was continue schooling. Maybe become a doctor, but all the people that wanted to know what she was doing next didn't really care what she wanted to do anyway. They just pressured her into thinking she had to do certain things, for the betterment of the people that were left. Tkay knew they didn't need her, and she didn't know what to do then. But this, this was just great.

Then a guy from the back asked what people that already had training were to do, at that she payed even more attention. Since it applied to her.

Angelica had started yesterday morning like any other. She had breakfast, went to work, then did a little training and then something unusual happened. She felt her body go funny then saw some strange lights before blacking out.

Hours later she woke up in a nursing area. At first she thought she had been in an accident as it wouldn't have been the first time. However after a few groggy minutes she was coherent enough to realise that this wasn't anywhere she had been before, some things and people looked odd. When she tried to get up a nurse told her she needed to rest. Angelica complied as she realised she wasn't strong enough to get out of the bed.

After siting around awhile some people came along asked her some questions. They said it was an interview to see if she was all there and although Angelica didn't understand what they meant she went along with it. After the men were satisfied the nurse came back and gave her an examination. Some of the tests she understood what they were for but others were just weird. Afterwards she was told to get some rest for tomorrow.

The next day she was guided to a courtyard and had to be hurried along because she kept looking up at the sky. She had never seen the sky before and no one in her universe left alive had seen clear skies it was so beautiful. There was a bunch of other people in the courtyard and to her surprise some where clearly not human or entirly human. Angelica stood at the back of the group feeling a bit woozy from yesterday. She was so fascinated by the none humans with all there unusual bits she had to restrain herself from touching them. She found it hard to concentrate on the woman giving them a speech about where here was and why they were here. When the woman asked if there was any questions Angelica thrust her hand into the air and asked "what is a dragon?". Not having heard of a dragon before now. Then before answer could be given another question popped into her mind "how did you transport people from different universes?" she enquired as she jiggled from side to side.

A normal day of exploring the outskirts of the woren lands had suddenly turned quite different, While Katt had ventured further than usual she had suddenly got sucked up in a mysterious vortex and vanished. Blinking lights had made her dizzy, and the sounds of talking had creped her out, but soon she would pass out from this mess and confusion only to awaken much later in a very odd place. She was sleeping near a tree, on a soft hill with grass on, and for a moment she had wondered if it all been a dream, but just in that moment she had noticed that her surroundings had changed, and there was no wind in the air. She was laying in a room that had some growth inside of it to feel more like home to her, but it had been quite so scary as she realized that she had been taken away from her home.

But after getting her time to calm down and take everything in, the room had filled with a soft new scent that had calmed all her senses. It had made her slightly fuzzy and woozy, but still made her felt really happy, it was a scent of magical enchanted catnip and she could just sit there and enjoy its sweet fragrance while a person walked into the room, with all her senses a bit thrown off by this new experience she felt a little odd towards the stranger and its scent. But she had felt calm and the person had been nice enough to explain to her about it all. And after the person had asked her to follow, she had just gotten up and done so. Feeling no threat from this woman in green that would later lead her to another new group of people.

She would feel rather odd for quite some time, and while the new person that stood in front of the mob talked to them she started regaining her senses. But now it was too late, she felt a bit trapped but with none trying to attack her she only covered slightly in the back. She was more confused over this than she was able to take in at once, and therefore she had a difficulty doing anything but just standing there like anyone else and stare blankly as the person in front spoke. All these new races and people right at one was not really calming, but what could she possible do right at this moment?...
