Klaus downed his fifth glass of scotch. Everything was ruined. His hybrid blood was down to only a couple bags, and he was unable to get more since his ignorant sister killed Elena, causing her to become a vampire. Her blood wouldn't work now since she wasn't human anymore. Rebekah left not long after, and part of him was glad she did. He honestly just didn't feel like tolerating with her right now. "Olivia, come over her, love." Klaus turned towards the compelled human girl across the room, who headed over to him. He brushed her red hair off her neck and sank his fangs in her smooth skin. Klaus finished her off, drinking in her luscious and warm blood. She became limp in his arms, and when he was finished, Klaus carelessly tossed her body aside. One of his hybrids took up the body and left, no doubt to hide it.

After taking a relaxing shower, which calmed him somewhat. After changing into dark jeans and a slim fitting v-neck black shirt. He put on his black leather jacket and ran his hand through his hair. He then took the keys to his black SUV and left, ordering the hybrids to not let anyone in the house. He left, heading to the Grill. He just needed to get out and clear his mind. With losing his hybrid, sister, and even Caroline. Klaus shook his head. Ah, Caroline. Being in Tyler's body was fun, kissing Caroline and getting intimate was fun. Smirking, Klaus parked his car and got out, going inside.

He glared over at Matt, who was working his usual shift at the Grill. Klaus wasn't the least bit surprised that the ignorant boy was still pissed off at him, his sister was the reason Elena was a vampire now, and that she led him on made the matter even worse. Sighing, Klaus smiled sweetly at the waitress while ordering scotch on the rocks. He watches as she sashayed off. A few minutes later, she brought him the alcoholic beverage back. He slowly sipped on it and rolled his eyes when Matt came up to him, taking the seat. "Yes, join me." Klaus said sarcastically. "Where's Rebekah?" Matt asked, ignoring his comment. Obviously he didn't care. "Like I know. She bailed after what happened with Elena." He said and Klaus could tell the pain in Matt's face when he said that.

"Tell her to call me, or something, when you talk to her." Matt then left, leaving Klaus alone once more. He was use to be alone. It seemed like forever since he was intimate with a woman.. but that was probably he liked the main course, forgetting totally about dessert. Sighing, Klaus took a sip of scotch and sat back in the booth, looking out the window.

Karah stepped back, examining her new wallpaper she just finished putting up. She moved into her new home last night, but was so tired from the long car ride, she went straight to bed. Her furniture wouldn't be here until later one today, so she made her a pallet on the ground. She paid for it when she woke up with her back hurting. Deciding to take a break, Karah made herself a peanut butter sandwich. After eating, she changed into comfortable beige shorts and a white t-shirt. She slipped on her hiking boots, tying them securely, and pulled her hair back in a loose high bun, wisps and loose strands fell around her face. Packing some trail mix and a few bottles of water, she loaded into her car and drove to the hiking trail. She parked and slung her bag over her shoulders. After turning off her phone and locking her car up, she started on the trail.

Hiking really relaxed her, and it also was one of her favorite hobbies. It was how she stayed fit and healthy. She remembered the first time she ever went hiking. She went with her father when she was ten, and ever since then she loved it. She tried going at least twice a week, ever since her father and died a few years ago. She never really remembered her mom, she died when Karah was three, and her father never re-married. Karah remembered asking him why one time, and his response was he only needed one girl in his life. Her. She could feel the tears stinging her eyes, but she fought them back.

After hiking for what seemed like a couple hours, she sat down on a stump, taking out a bottle of water and taking a big sip. She stared ahead and noticed a small stream. Leaving her bag, she walked the short distance. and sat down. She took some water in her hand and splashed it on her face, most of it getting on her shirt. Frowning, Karah looked around and took it off, laying it on a rock to dry. She really hoped not a lot of people came by, or else they'd see her in her black lace bra. It was better then wearing a wet shirt, though. She hated wearing wet clothes.

Mystic Falls. This was a place filled with a lot of supernatural beings, just from all the recent animal attacks she heard about on the radio and news. Lauren Chaffer decided this would be an interesting place to stay at for awhile. Having been there a week, she hadn't really gone outside and had been to busy unpacking and getting everything set up in her new place. Being here felt weird, since she could feel there were others here of the supernatural variety. Today she finally decided to head out and explore the town a bit.

After washing herself up she curled her hair into light waves before throwing on a deep purple blouse and some jeans. Grabbing a neutral colored jacket, she headed out and threw it in the passenger seat of her corvette. Spending some time driving around she saw the local grocery store, some houses, and also a place called the Mystic Grill. Seeing as she was hungry she decided to park there.

Heading inside she could feel a buzz of energy in the air. Her eyes immediately landed on a dark haired female. Somehow she got the feeling this woman was another witch. For now she just ignored that feeling and took a seat near the bar. A tall dark haired boy came up to her that's name tag said Matt. "Whatever is your best food here, I'll take that. And some water please," she told him before he went off to put the order in.

    ~~

Things were oh so different now. Elena was a vampire and from what Stefan was trying to say it seemed she was sired to Damon Salvatore, his brother. At first he dismissed what his brother said and didn't think Elena was sired to him. All he had said was she shouldn't drink from blood bags and that she should be learning through the real thing rather than try and be forced into Stefan's bunny diet or bloodbags. Okay.. maybe he had said she couldn't drink from them but still. Apparently it did turn out to be the case though which wasn't entirely shocking considering he had that happen once before with another woman he had turned.

Needing some air Damon pulled himself out of bed before taking a nice hot shower and throwing on some black jeans and a black t-shirt and grabbed his jacket. It was easy to tell that was his favorite color from how he wore mostly black. Heading outside he knew Elena was still asleep and his brother.. he wasn't sure what his brooding younger brother was doing. Heading to the trails that was a good place he usually found a bite to eat. His mood was fine right now so there wasn't any danger of him draining anyone, luckily for them.

As he made his way down the trail he started walking a more human speed. If there was one thing he liked about being a vampire, on top of everything really, it was the speed. As he came across a bend and where the water was he saw a woman, her back turned to him, in her bra. Clearly her shirt was soaked. A small smirk filled his face. Well this would be fun. Quietly he walked back about ten steps the way he came and walked towards the water again making sure t make some noise by stepping on a twig to see how she wold react.

Klaus had started on his second glass. He heard the tiny ring from the door opening and looked up to see who came in, and Klaus was taken aback. She was beautiful. He watched as she sat not too far from him, ordering some food. Matt took the order of hers and went to place it, he noticed she was staring at Bonnie Bennett, then it clicked with him. This new woman was a witch. Of course, which was why Klaus felt so drawn to her. He cleared his throat and straightened up. Matt brought back the girl's order, casting Klaus a look.

He finished up the scotch and stood up, Bonnie stopped him from going to introduce himself to the new girl. "Yes, Bonnie?" He asked lazily. "Leave her alone, Klaus. She's new, and you being one of the first she meets would be just tragic." She said, her lips pressed into a firm line. "Don't worry, love. I'm not going to harm her. Just to make her feel..." he paused briefly to look her way, "welcome." He finished. Bonnie glared at him, keeping herself calm. Before she had a chance to say anything else, Klaus walked up to her, taking the stool beside her.

"Hello, love. I'm Niklaus." He said. She was even more beautiful up close then she was from a distance.

Karah had leaned back to just soak in the sun, letting its rays hit her slender, slightly tanned build. Her eyes snapped open when she heard a twig crack and she quickly reached for her shirt, throwing it back on with super speed. After letting her hair down, acting like she was just taking a brief break, she stood up, dusting the dirt off the back off her shorts. She then made her way back over to her bag and sat back down on the same stump. She tied her boots and threw her hair back in another loose bun. After taking another sip of water, she zipped her bag back up and slung it over her shoulders, standing up.

Karah heard another crunch behind her and turned. "Who's there?" She called out, a frown across her face. Was it someone playing tricks on her? Since she was classified as a "new girl". Shaking her head, she turned back around and continued hiking on the route she had been on, dodging low limbs, stepping over heavy logs, and swatting away annoying mosquitoes. She still had that weird and strange feeling she was being watched or followed, but she shrugged it off and walked up a steep hill. Her legs grew a little weak, but she pushed herself forward. A crow croaked on a nearby tree, it's shiny black wings began flapping in the window, charging towards her. Startled, she stumbled back, but tripped over a loose stone and came rolling down the hill.

Karah managed to stop herself, but coughed after inhaling loose dirt, her vision was a little blurry and she felt like she had some small, minor cuts from rocks scrapping against her skin as she rolled.

Lauren was kind of getting an odd feeling about this place. Like with just one look people could tell what she was. This wouldn't be to surprising though considering how many supernatural beings were said to be in this town. Mentally she shook the thought off and thanked Matt as he brought the food over to her. It was no surprise that it was a burger and fries, which didn't bother her since she liked classic sort of foods. Barely getting to eat a couple bites someone came up to her.

Not only did she get an.. odd vibe about him, she also never had someone call her 'love' in the first sentence a stranger spoke to her. So that was different as well. "Hello, I'm Lauren," she spoke. Despite the vibe and all that, she had to admit he was very good looking. "Nice to meet you," she added politely.

    ~~

Damon was not at all surprised by how quickly he heard her moving about. No doubt throwing her shirt back on and gathering her thing. He stood back a moment, just listening. She was fast he had to say, for a human that is. Waiting a bit longer he started to walk again as he heard her ask if anyone was there. Perhaps it was a ht cruel of him but he found these chasing sort of games fun. Humans got spooked so easily and then thought they could outrun whatever they thought was following them. But he would let her get a decent length away since it was no fun to just easily catch up to her.

This continued on as she left and went up a hill and he followed far enough back to not be seen but could still hear her and kind of see her from the distance. In a way he knew it was his fault when she fell down the hill. If he hadn't been messing with her she could have still been back at that little lake not to far from here instead of climbing a steep hill like that. Seeing as she was hurt and probably dazed he went up to her. "Are you alright?" He asked as if he was just a bystander who happened to hear commotion.

Klaus gave Lauren his best and most charming smile. "How are you liking Mystic Falls? I can tell you're new... honestly, we don't get too many new faces around here." Klaus said. He knew he was a big part of it, with the whole bad boy hybrid murderer type of stuff. He gave Matt the money, paying for his scotch and her meal. "It's on me." He said. Matt rolled his eyes as he accepted the money and walked off. It was obvious that there was tension between the two. Klaus stood up. "I'd love to take you out one night, Lauren." Klaus said. He took her hand and place a gentle kiss on the top.

He then walked off, zipping his leather jacket up. It was a warm day, with an occasional chilly wind. He found his car and got in. It wasn't too busy today, so he didn't have to push past people. After starting his car, he headed back to his manor, there wasn't anything else to do, so he might have well waste the rest of the day doing nothing. Ever since Elena had been turned, everything he anticipated had been, well ruined. Making everyone else was miserable, and he had to face the truth. He turned to a couple of his hybrids talking. He closed his eyes and rubbed his temple. He heard of a cure, but it was ages ago. What if there really was a cure? Then he could get Elena back human and use her blood again.

Going upstairs to his study, he scanned the bookshelves until he found what he was looking for. Klaus took down the old, dusty Grimorie and opened up the yellowed pages, flipping through until he found what he was looking for. The spell. The spell to open up the tomb, to find Silas, and to get the cure. All he needed was the map, but where would he get it? And from who? He knew it had to be from The Five, vampire hunter. Finding them was close to impossible though. Shaking his head, he shut the book closed. So, all he had to do now was find a witch and a vampire hunter and human sacrifice. That should be relatively easy.

Karah pushed herself up, propping her weight on her hands. The man that ran up to her made her lost her train of thought. It had ruggedly handsome looks, and a lean and build figure. His eyes were dazzling, she felt as if she could get lost in them. When he asked if she was okay, it took her several minutes to find her voice. She nodded and croaked out a 'yes' and stood up. A line of blood trickled down her arm and she lifted her arm, frowning at a gash on her elbow. "That's great.." She said as drops of blood and dirt stained her top.

She smiled sheepishly at the man. "Sorry. I swear, I'm usually not this clumsy." She joked, trying to lighten the atmospheres, because right now she felt like an absolute idiot. Her shorts at a small tear on one side, and her shirt ripped a little bit, her hair had fell out of its bun and fell down her shoulders and face.

"Well to be honest I haven't really been out much since I arrived here until now," Lauren admitted. Though she had only been there a few days so it wasn't like she had much of a chance. From what she seen so far she could tell there was some tension here. At least between him and Matt anyway. Before she could have a chance to say much else he said about taking her out sometime, then placed a kiss on her hand before leaving.

Finishing up her food she took a long drink of the water. Sometimes she drank alcohol but a lot of times she liked water to clear her head. Regular water wasn't exactly her favorite, as she preferred flavored, but she still drank it anyway. The woman she has noticed earlier came up to her and introduced herself as Bonnie. Then she went on to say how Klaus was not good news. "Thanks for the warning" she said and could tell this woman was serious. She did want watch out for everyone in this town until she got a better feel for everyone.

    ~~

Damon wasn't sure if she was not talking at first because of being dazed or something else. Instantly he could smell the blood and tensed a little bit. His control was better than his brother Stefan's but it was kind of hard when he was hungry already and had been looking to feed. For some reason he didn't really want to hurt her. At least not like this anyway. Finally she spoke and seemed to notice the gash on her arm.

"This area can be pretty dangerous, especially if you don't know the area very well," he offered in case she felt silly for having fell like she did. "Are you new around here?" He asked. "I've never seen you before," he added. Then he realized now wasn't exactly the best time to be trying to make small talk. "Do you need some help up?"

Klaus picked up the phone, calling Stefan. He had to meet up with him, tell him about the five and that there is a cure, or so he heard anyways. After chatting for a few minutes, Klaus threw back on his jacket and got into the vehicle and drove to the Salvatore home. He walked on inside, being greeted by Stefan and some bourbon. "I'm a scotch man myself, but I suppose this will do." He said, taking the beverage from Stefan. "What is it you needed to tell me?" He asked, looking at Klaus. "Is your brother and Elena here?" He asked, glancing around the room. "No. Damon's out... hunting, and Elena is with Jeremy." Stefan replied, his voice clipped and irritated. "What do you want Klaus?"

Klaus smirked at him, putting his glass down on the coffee table, he leaned back. "What if I told you I know a way to cure all vampires?" He spread his arms out in front of him, Stefan cast him a look. "That's impossible." He said and Klaus shook his head. "It's not, mate. First, you need a few items.. and people, but its very possible," he paused to lean forward closer to Stefan, "your love can be cured and human again, and that silly sire bond broken." Stefan winced at Klaus' words. Elena had left him, claiming her feelings for Damon were stronger, which left Stefan hurt, but he later found out Elena was sired to Damon, it was his blood in her system when she died. The feelings she had before didn't help much either.

"What do I need to do?" Stefan asked and Klaus smiled slyly.

Karah gave the man a small smile. "Yes, is it really that obvious?" She asked with a whimsical laugh. When he asked if she needed help up, Karah shook her head. She pushed herself up, picking up her bag. "Thanks, for, uh, being concerned." Karah stammered. She felt her cheeks flushing, burning with embarrassment, and started to walk past him. Something was holding her back, though, there was something about this man. She turned back towards him. "I'm Karah, I was wondering if you wanted to maybe go out sometime? I still haven't seen much of the town, and I really would like not getting hurt anymore." She said with a smile.

She was really hoping he'd say yes. Usually she was more shy and timid then anything, but she felt comfortable around him, everything about him just made her feel at ease.

Soon enough Lauren left the grill and found herself heading towards the store. Wanting to pick up a few small things for the house, like a couple lamps to give the place more character. Heading inside she found a few nice ones that were of a lavender color. Paying for them she headed back back to the car, placing them in the back seat before getting in her car and heading off back to the house.

The ride back felt kind of long even though it wasn't. Upon entering the house she felt in need of a long hot shower, so that was exactly what she did before changing into some shorts and a t-shirt.

    ~~

Damon shrugged, "I have a good memory for faces," he said and offered his signature smirk. The woman pushed herself up and brushed off his help. So she was a more independent person, he thought to himself. "No problem," he said as he watched her start to leave. Though she turned back to him after a moment and introduced herself as Karah. The fact she was rather straightforward, Damon found himself to like that. "Sure," he agreed. "I know this town pretty well. Maybe a tour sometime?" He suggested.

Well this new girl might make for an interesting person to distract him from all of the trouble they dealt with daily thanks to the originals, he thought.

After discussing their plans and agreeing not to tell anyone, not even Elena. He got into his car and started it up. He sat there several minutes before finally shifting into reverse, backing out, then back into drive. As he drove down the road, his thoughts drifted to the girl from the bare. Lauren. She was truly flawless. He stopped at a stop sign and leaned back into his seat as a couple of cars took the right of way. Something caught his eyes, a familiar car sped past. Flipping on his blinker, he made sure it was clear and followed in the same direction as the vehicle, but kept his distance.

He watched as the car pulled up to a trailer, and out came a tall, dark-skinned man. On his hands were baseball gloves. Klaus narrowed his eyes at the man, then knew who he was. Conner Jordan, new resident at Mystic Falls, and from what he heard- a hunter. Then it clicked with Klaus. What if he were one of the five? That would mean he had the map to find the cure. Backing out, he knew exactly where he was headed. He needed a witch, and he was positive Bonnie wouldn't, but he knew one witch he could try to convince. He then headed to Lauren's house, remembering the then empty lot, it wasn't hard to spot, rather easy actually.

    ~ ~ ~

Karah smiled. "Yes, I think I might just take you up on that offer. I'll meet you at the Grill, tonight at eight." She gave him a smile before turned, heading off back to her car.

Once she reached her dark blue Buick, battered and old, but still reliable, she took out her car keys and tossed her bag inside, reaching in and grabbing a rag. She pressed it on the minor gash, frowning. She wasn't too big on blood, it was her weakness. Karah leaned against the car, waiting for the bleeding to stop. She didn't want to get blood in her car. Karah heard a crack of a branch close by, and she straightened up. Was it that same man? She couldn't recall him telling her his name. Shrugging, Karah went to open her car door but was pushed against, she gasped, the rag dropping from her grasp.

Elena pressed the woman against the car, fangs bared. She was so...hungry, and the woman's blood was just.. divine, she had to taste. Stefan was home, she had no clue where Damon was right now, but all she knew was she was hungry.

Lauren brushed out her hair before sitting down on the couch to find something to watch. For the moment there wasn't much else to do, except she would like to practice her magic before to long. It felt like it had been awhile since she last did that. Flipping through the channels it seemed nothing good was on tv anymore. It was all stupid reality shows and silly things like that. Shaking her head it was no wonder she didn't watch tv anymore.

Frowning at the sound of the door, she hadn't yet told anyone where she lived so she wasn't sure who it could be. Getting up, she was surprised to find who it was there. "Niklaus?" How did he found out where she lived? She didn't recall giving any sort of hint or something to that affect.

    ~~

"See you then," he agreed. Everyone there that he knew would probably glare at him for bothering a new girl on town when she had hardly been there long enough to know his personality but Damon didn't care. Seeing as he was about to leave as well he followed off the same way she was heading and planned to run off back to his house, or somewhere. Deciding to find someone that he could feed from, he didn't get more than a few feet away before a bad feeling hit.

Following the girl he saw her at her car standing there. Probably just trying to regather herself from the fall she took. Waiting a few minutes to see if his feeling was wrong, no sooner before he started to leave did Elena show up trying to feed from her. "No Elena," he said pulling her away from the girl.
