Created by Ultimatum, given to Squrmy, granted to me, Enigmatique. The Era of Enigma
Introduction...
Shinobi Story is a roleplay that was originally started months ago by Ultimatum. Ultimatum presented an idea. A concept. He wanted a roleplay that took a different angle on how the Narutoverse was altered for the sake of roleplaying. The atmosphere of the first incarnation of Shinobi Story was fluid and creative. The ultimate decision made for Shinobi Story was that it would take place between the First and Second Great Shinobi Wars. Changes that were made to the roleplay were thought out with surgical precision to carry out every consequence. We were proud of the roleplay we had created, but despite that pride the first incarnation died due to infighting and a lack of a strong central moderator. The second incarnation was started by my friend Squrmy in an attempt to recapture the concept Ultimatum made while giving it a backbone strong enough to support proper roleplay. This incarnation did not go far, mostly due to roleplayer inactivity. This is the third incarnation of Shinobi Story brought on by me, Enigmatique. I wish to preserve the concept created by Ultimatum while still providing the structure of a much-needed Modetator.
In short, I'm looking for active, creative, cooperative roleplayers. I want post speeds ranging between two per day (or more) to one per two days. Collaborative posts are supported and encouraged, but the standard for posting still stands. I am looking for five Genin to fill roles in Konohagakure. Anyone who desires to fill a different role may PM me.

Decades of intense warfare marked the Land of Fire before the founding of Konohagakure. Constant turmoil between the Uchiha Clan and the Senju Clan created a rivalry that ultimately cost the lives of Shinobi and civilians alike. Madara Uchiha led the Uchiha Clan alongside his brother Izuna while Hashirama Senju led the Senju Clan alongside Tobirama. What little history that survives from the era claims that the war started from the Senju Clan attempted to create an alliance with the Uchiha Clan in a less than diplomatic manner. Legend claims the war started long ago because of the rivalry of two brothers. Irrelevant of how the war started, they way it ended set the pace for the future of Konogakure and even the First Great Shinobi War...
The Senju had been attempting to merge all of the Land of Fire into one country for generations and the Uchiha had been resisting it for just as long. The Despite an alliance of nearly every other clan in the Land of Fire, the Senju Clan could not subdue the Uchiha. Furthermore, other countries had seen the efforts of the Senju and mirrored their efforts. While the other countries were binding together, the Land of Fire was still in war. Hashirama knew that if the war was not ended soon, the entire country would be in a lesser state. Ensuing war would utterly destroy them. Thus, he stood apart from his forefathers and attempted to bring peace between the Uchiha and Senju diplomatically.
It took years and multiple acts of peace before the Clans considered peace, and ultimately they decided to "try" peace. Konohagakure was formed, but far from truly founded. The resentment between the clans soon resurfaced; the Senju attempted to oppress the Uchiha, and Madara grew frustrated. Madara often spoke out in public meetings and fought for the rights of his clans. However, his true power was dwindling as his use of the Mangekyou had been eating away at his vision. He grew weaker and the oppression grew worse. Tension grew stronger. Izuna ultimately offered Madara his eyes for the better of the Clan. Madara was revitalized and even strengthened.
Hashirama saw an opportunity in this. Madara may have been vastly empowered, but Izuna was vastly weakened. Izuna still acted as a Shinobi, but normally performed menial tasks. Even blinded, he was still a notable Shinobi. Hashirama sent Izuna into what he knew was a trap. Madara was enraged by the death of his brother and he was completely convinced that his death was the work of Hashirama. Madara spoke the rants of a madman, speaking of unconfirmed conspiracies and the corruption of the idol that the rest of the village looked up to. Madara challenged Hashirama, and the Senju was not one to back down.
The battle between them was epic. It was known as the Incident at the Valley of End. It was a battle that Shinobi thought could only exist in legends. It sculpted the Earth itself as it if was mere clay on a potter's wheel. Madara lost and he was assumed dead. Konohagakure was finally stable. The figureheads of the Uchiha Clan were gone and their morale was broken. The plans of the Senju had worked and no one suspected them. Madara was a madman that stole his brothers' eyes and spoke out against Hashirama due to jealousy. The other countries were coming together and the idea of dissolving at this point seemed ludicrous. Konohagakure had rose from black-flamed ashes.
Hashirama may have survived the fight, but he did not live long after. He died shortly before the founding of Konohagakure in one of the last civil conflicts in the Land of Fire. This left Tobirama as the second Hokage. Tobirama was overcome with grief from the death of his brother. Tobirama came to hate the Uchiha Clan and during his reign as Hokage acted to oppress them in even more heinous ways than his brother. Tobirama created housing sectors for all of the Noble Clans in Konohagakure. This was a setup to create a seal that would suppress the chakra that created the Sharingan and Mangekyou. He only ever let few Uchiha go on to the Chuunin exams. Even fewer Uchiha became Jounin.
After the death of the Tobirama, the secrets and oppression of the Uchiha came to an end. Sarutobi Hiruzen was the Third Hokage and brought an era of justness within Konohagakure. The era of Senju supremacy faded. The ranks of the Senju had been dwindled just as drastically as the Uchiha due to the war. Konohagakure had made it through its past of deceit and war to stand as a pinnacle in an era of post-war restoration.
Note: In short, the Senju Clan was nowhere near as innocent as they are currently portrayed in canon.
Origins... (As wrote by Ultimatum)
...after a grueling decade of warfare, the fighting has finally stopped leaving the husks of formerly tall, proud, villages to pick up the remnants of their shattered lives and begin anew.
The five major shinobi villages survived the war relatively intact, leaving them as the cornerstones of power in the ages to follow, many of the minor villages, however, were unable to cope with the sheer military power and were reduced to a fraction of their previous influence in the world.
The forefront of the war: the Village Hidden in the Leaves, Konohagakure, suffered heavily from losses as two of its legendary figureheads the first and second hokage gave their lives to protect the nation. Sarutobi, Hiruzen - the student of Nidaime Hokage - is given the title of Sandaime Hokage and presides over the village with a firm, yet fair rule in order to build up strength in a time where uneasy peace and fragile oaths stave yet another war.
Kumogakure and Iwagakure, the Village Hidden in the Clouds and the Village Hidden in the Earth respectively, do not seem to have noticed that the war is over; while the majority of the fighting has seen an end, these two villages continuously skirmish along their borders for control of the surrounding farmlands and military supremacy in the region. The Cloud's ageing Nidaime Raikage, near death has yet to name a successor to his rule, whilst Rock's Sandaime Tuschikage [Onoki of Both Scales], user of Kekkai Toutai "Particle Style" ninjutsu, is well into his time as leader of Iwagakure with no signs that he'll step down anytime soon.
The two villages continuously push the boundaries of peace and are wholly military oriented at this point, giving each a savage reputation among the other nations. Iwagakure, especially, whose previous and current Kages show no qualms in using under-handed tactics and betrayal to improve the well-being of the village, is greatly frowned upon by the other nations.
Kirigakure, the Village Hidden in the Mist, has not fared as well as the others. Owing to unforseen circumstances, the land of Kirigakure has been without the leadership of a Kage for the past 10 years, the village depends entirely on the ruling "sub-sectors" of Mafia bosses to control its outlying fishing-towns while referring to a parliamentary gathering of village-elders within the confines of the main arm of the village.
It is a land highly forfeit of honor of order, making trade between the lands increasingly difficult.
Almost as remote as Iwagakure is Sunagakure, the Village Hidden in the Sands, while still retaining the leadership of the third Kazekage [The Famous Magnet User] its military has been reduced to something of a "police force" to control domestic dispute, the village has fallen on hard times and even at the urging of the controlling party, the inhabitants seem reluctant to enter into the ninja academy - seeing no honor or reward from becoming a shinobi of Sunagakure.
The Village Hidden in the Leaves is known for its abundance of clans and, essentially, being the birthplace of much of the ninja world. It has a deep and diverse history which is all rooted to the Senju and Uchiha clans (the direct descendants to Rikudou-Sennin himself). The land itself is fertile and the village is ripe with vendors, ninja, farmers, and the like―despite the recent tribulations of war. Although, civil unrest has been brewing between the infamous Uchiha clan and the remnants of the rule which the Senju clan had left...
It's leader; Sarutobi, Hiruzen has taken the helm after the second hokage passed away and has become a figurehead for a fair but just rule in order to bring the village back to days of peace and plenty.
Sarutobi, Hiruzen
The Village Hidden within the Earth has ridden the current of war since its first days, and the village makes a living off of such. The village is frowned upon by all four of the other major shinobi nations who believe that even its underhanded tactics are a little too dishonorable for even a ninja. The war profiteering and mercenary forces at work within the village make a very disciplined life-style necessary for survival, the Tsuchikage: Ōnoki of Both Scales, commands the village with an iron-fist. A user of the "particle-style" Kekkei Toutai, he is a force to be reckoned with and is beloved by his villagers. Despite what any other nation may say―he takes care of his village is if it were his own flesh and blood. Continuous warfare seem to have only made the nation's economy grow stronger―while a rapidly advancing movement seeks to make military growth increase through optimized teaching strategies.
Ōnoki of Both Scales
The Village Hidden in the Clouds is one of mysterious origins and even stranger people, dwelling high on mountain-tops their economy is in the rare mountain-plants that they cultivate and its amazing artisan craftsmen who are considered master carpenters, artists, and most importantly...swordsman. The nation's top shinobi seem to be skilled with the art of a blade, which is definitely a rite of passage in Kumogakure. Many of those who have been refining their skills for generations passed away during the war, leaving a fresh generation of apprentices to fill in for their master's absence. The village, however, is faring worse now than ever. With the downfall of it's leader (who slips in and out of consciousness sporadically) and no foreseeable end to the drawn-out entanglement with the Rock village, the people of the Cloud wish desperately to make peace with their warring neighbors.
Nidaime Raikage
You begin your journey as a Genin, the beginning ranks of a nation's army and a student above all. In your journeys you will meet many people, make many enemies, break fasts with your allies, and conquer the battlefield with your comrades. You will make your nation, your village, and your family proud...but above all, you will be Shinobi.
Now then, what shall we put in the Ninja Registry?
A Registration Form, of course! The form below is the basic guideline for a Ninja Registration Form. Copy and paste its code, fill it out and then you may edit it as you see fit as long as it still contains all listed information.
Please be respectful of everyone's opinion/right to role-play with us, flaming/trolling/harassment/etc. will NOT be tolerated.
It is highly recommended that you follow the character sheet guidelines given above, however if you are too slow or stubborn to, I will accept modified characters sheets as long as all the information is present.

Name Kurotaka Mamoru Age | Gender 34 | Male Height 71 in (180.3 cm) Country Land of Fire Village Hidden Leaf Rank Elite Jounin
Chakra Natures Wind and Lightning Kekkei Genkai N/A
Personality In his youth, Mamoru was described as ambitious, intelligent and critical with everything he was involved in. Throughout his life those qualities held true. After a wartime career full of struggle and conflict, Mamoru now desires to teach the next generation of Shinobi that their strength comes from the will to protect their brethren and without that will it does not matter what clan one is from or what power one might possess.
History In the era Mamoru was trained during, there was no academy; shinobi were made through trial by fire. Shinobi had to competent and capable on the battlefield, and Mamoru was no exception. He had no natural advantage, like an Uchiha or Hyuuga. What Mamoru did have, though, was a calmness in battle that was only accentuated by a permanent and strategical seriousness. As a Genin, it was Mamoru's iron will that earned him praise from his superiors, and ultimately awarded him his future training.
Many died in their very first encounters with the enemy — a testament to the cruelty of true Shinobi warfare. In its own right, survival was an obvious reason for praise, but if you did if you could do it once, you were relied upon to do it again. After you proved your worth, you didn't receive praise for just getting by, it was expected of you. Mamoru never shined in battle. He had no Kekkei Genkai, no special abilities, yet he was thrown into battles were Hyuuga, Uchiha and even clans without Kekkei Genkai like the Nara gained fame. Mamoru gained nothing. Because of this Mamoru developed a resentment towards his comrades, and that resentment fueled a drive.
Mamoru forced himself to keep up with the benchmarks set by his Uchiha peers, even if he at first could not compare to their incredible abilities. He never gave up, and trained hard, arguably the hardest out of all of his peers. Not only did he condition himself far more than his peers, he often trained with his Uchiha and Hyuuga comrades to develop fighting styles specifically designed to counter theirs. Mamoru went to the extent of claiming that there was a simple secret to defeating Kekkei Genkai like theirs, but has yet to reveal it. Regardless of what it was, it not only worked, but it made him a formidable Shinobi on the battlefield.
Mamoru gained fame in the First Shinobi World War as the "Archer of the Hidden Leaf" due his incredible long-range abilities. In addition to his famed abilities, he was known as a weapons master, was proficient in two elements, and had a reputation for defeating Kekkei Genkai. The culmination of his skills earned him an invitation to guard the first Hokage. Mamoru continued fighting in the wars and endured even after the death of the First Hokage. He served the same role for the Second Hokage who ultimately met the same fate. Mamoru finished his campaign in the First Shinobi World War, but afterwards he stepped down as an Elite Guard.
Mamoru made a request to teach which was honored. He was made one of the first Squad leaders for the academy that the Second Hokage established. He has since realized the err of his desires; he only wanted power to surpass his peers whom he resented for their advantages when he should have been working to protect them all along. Mamoru has blamed himself for his inability to protect, but his guilt only gave him new ambition. He made it his solemn vow to invest the true moral of protection into every Shinobi that he is given.
Appearance Mamoru shows few signs of his age aside from his prematurely graying hair, which stands out like silver thread within his black hair. His Leaf Village forehead protector is worn quite simply to standard around his forehead, allowing his long, fine hair to fall down to just above midback. Mamoru is an individual with no actual outstanding facial features. Everything about the man falls into the category of average, from the spacing of his eyes to width of his nose. His most unique characteristic are his green eyes, which still have a dullness to them that make them lackluster. Being neither extensively tall or short, Mamoru simply seems like another face in the crowd.
Mamoru wears an altered version of the Leaf Village flak jacket. Not only is the color of his jacket a dark brown opposed to the regular green, but it sports several, symmetrically-placed holsters for small summoning scrolls — a total of 14 placed around the entire jacket. On his back are two parallel, diagonally-placed kodaichi placed under his hair and above a large, horizontally-placed scroll. Around his waist are two combat pouches, normally filled with minor medical supplies, wires, pills and other assorted items that are either for utility or consumables that he deemed not suitable for use with his scrolls. Lastly, Mamoru wears his two trademark bracers with summoning inscriptions on them that allow for Mamoru's instantaneous summoning and unsummoning of his long bows.
Abilities & Armament First and foremost, Mamoru is a weapons specialist, mastering almost every Shinobi weapon. Additionally, he is renown for his ability to amplify all of his weapons with his wind release. Mamoru is most famous for his abilities as an archer, most remarkably being his ability to create arrows from wind chakra and guide them at extreme speeds. As one of the greatest Shinobi of Leaf (known as the Great Archer of the Hidden Leaf), Mamoru only ever had to use hand seals with A-Rank jutsu and even then if a jutsu required the use of his bow he mastered it until he could use it without hand seals. This was a testament to his chakra control, and brought fame to his view of archery: "A good archer should never let go of his bow." Far less famous, but just as important is Mamoru's use of wind chakra to increase his own mobility to match (and even outmatch in most cases) the speed of the Uchiha. Although less of a highlight, Mamoru can also sense chakra and use lightning techniques, adding to his already impressive pool of jutsu.
Jutsu Type Offensive Description Mamoru shapes wind nature chakra into the shape of an arrow which he then fires with extreme speed and precision. In addition to gliding through the air far faster than regular arrows, the impact of this arrow causes a small concussive burst of turbulent wind. This justu is also Mamoru's signature jutsu.
Jutsu Type Offensive Descrption Mamoru creates a single arrow as if using Wind Release: Menacing Arrow Shot which splits several arrows comprised of wind nature chakra with less precision upon release.
Jutsu Type Defensive Description Mamoru uses the large scroll on his back to summon a large, incredibly durable, metal wall. This door absorbs the chakra of most jutsu used on it and can withstand jutsu of the caliber of the Lightning Release: Wicked Hell Bolt at least once.
Jutsu Type Supplementary Description Mamoru manipulates any wind-amplified object or projectile. This jutsu applies to any wind nature chakra amplification. This jutsu can be used to 'track' a designated chakra source.
Jutsu Type Supplementary and Offensive Description Mamoru infuses his body with wind nature chakra to increase his overall movement speed. This is done via bursts of wind around his body, and his chakra system becoming saturated, subsequently strengthening his muscular system. This jutsu only increases his agility, not his cognitive ability. This jutsu cannot be used in conjunction with Lightning Release: Discharging Strikes.
Jutsu Type Offensive and Defensive Description Mamoru discharges the area around him with an electrical pulse capable of knocking back even highly-conditioned Shinobi.
Jutsu Type Supplementary and Offensive Description Mamoru either imbues himself or his weapon with lightning nature chakra to channel small, but noticeable shocks of electricity into whatever he or his item touches. Notably, this jutsu renders Mamoru or his object immune to the effects of chakra disruption as long as it is active. This jutsu cannot be used in conjunction with Wind Release: Mobility Amplification.
Jutsu Type Offensive Description Mamoru fires several hundred arrows each an equivalent to a Wind Release: Menacing Arrow Shot into the air in four volleys and allows them to fall down randomly, causing massive mayhem and destruction. This ability is extremely chakra taxing and can only be used twice per day.
Jutsu Type Supplementary and Offensive Description Mamoru infuses all nearby bladed weaponry with wind nature chakra, then uses them creates a tempest. The winds of this tempest are easily that of a large storm. The result is a maelstrom of incredibly deadly blades slashing through the air at such sporadically high speeds only a Hyuuga could deflect them.
Jutsu Type Offensive Description Mamoru creates a single arrow of highly condensed lightning nature chakra and fires it at a speed that far surpasses his Menacing Arrow Shot. The trail of this arrow is said to resemble a lightning bolt. Upon hitting its target, this insanely fast arrow explodes in a large, deadly static field. This ability, although being a single arrow, is incredibly powerful and reaches speeds nearly impossible to dodge, even for the Uchiha. The chakra taxation alone forces Mamoru to only use this jutsu a maximum of three times per day.
Name: 猿飛亮 (Sarutobi Ryo) Konoha no Shiroika (Konoha's White Fire) Age | Gender: 24 | Male Height: 5'11" Country: Hi no Kuni (Land of Fire)
Village:
Konohagakure (Village Hidden in the Leaves)
Rank: Jounin
Chakra Nature(s): Fire Kekkei Genkai(s): N/A
Personality:
Sarutobi Ryo is a very honest, genuine man. He is straight and to the point; it is not often that he will beat around the bush, or change his wording to save someone's feelings - often, he will go straight for the crux of a problem; a trait which could be classified as a failing with the man. However, genuine as he may be, Ryo understands the need - in certain cases - for deceit and more underhanded tactics, and is more than willing to throw his morals out the window - if for a short period of time - to save his family, friends and members of his own village.
Being a Sarutobi, Ryo's feelings toward the Hokage border on outright zealism, as the close-knit ties of the family have resulted in the young man being extremely loyal to his Hokage, and - by extension - to his village. Nothing would ever waver him from his current course of loyalty and service to Hiruzen, and he would give his own life for his Hokage any day.
In summary, Sarutobi Ryo is an intelligent, honest sort of man; friendly and trusting to all those from his village, and slightly hostile and suspicious of those from outside it - a result of the decade of grueling warfare that ruined his youth.
Background:
Ryo was born the son of two unremarkable Shinobi of the Sarutobi Clan; his father a second cousin of the great Hiruzen Sarutobi, who would later become Hokage. He was raised in a large house in Konohagakure, not in a Clan compound, but just a normal, civillian house - his mother's parents had been well-off shop owners, so in the time before the Second Great Shinobi War, they'd managed to make a large fortune; most of which was passed onto Ryo's mother when they died - with which she and Ryo's father had bought their home, and a chain of shops in the village.
Ryo began his training from a young age. His mother had a gift for Taijutsu, and his father had been gifted with a dab hand at Ninjutsu; so, by the time he was eight, he was already slightly competent in hand-to-hand fighting and simple techniques like the Body Replacement Jutsu. Even at the young age of five, Ryo was committed to his training - he awoke early everyday, going for a run with his mother before - on the days when he was home and not on missions - going through an extensive training routine with his father.
He was sent to the Konohagakure Ninja Academy a few weeks after his ninth birthday, where he met, for the first time, those who would join him on the field of battle in only a few short years time; although none of them knew it, as yet - they knew nothing of the brewing tensions outside of the safety of Konohagakure's Walls. Ryo was fairly popular in the Academy, and a hit with the female students; his
The young Shinobi did excellently in all things Ninjutsu, was above average in Taijutsu, but was fairly mediocre in his Genjutsu - it seemed he just lacked talent and motivation for it.
Ryo graduated from the Academy when he was ten, and was assigned to a Genin Cell a few days later. His Sensei was a very quiet, solemn man; devoted to his students, even if he didn't show it often. He didn't speak much when he wasn't instructing the Genin; at least, for the first few months of their time together.
As the Genin and their Sensei gradually started to spend more time together, the man started to open up a little, occasionally offering his students a few words of praise and the odd smile - quite a large step from the way he'd been behaving beforehand.
Two years into his time as a Genin, rumours started to float around Konohagakure about another Great Shinobi War on the horizon; and, although nothing was ever confirmed, the Genin's training was stepped up a few notches and intensified significantly; they were rushed through their training under the guiding hand of their Sensei, to prepare them for the coming conflict - although they were never told such a thing to their faces.
Ryo participated in the Chuunin Exam when he was thirteen and a half years old. He and his team passed the first two tests - barely - but, once safe from the perils of the Second Exam, a battered and beaten Ryo breezed through the Third Exam; he'd been lucky enough to watch his one-on-one opponent in the forest, and Ryo was a very observant boy. He played on his opponent's weaknesses, and defeated the Kumogakure Shinobi with ease.
When the next Great Shinobi War broke out, it shook the very foundations of Ryo's life. His parents readied themselves for war, and he - a newly-promoted Chuunin - was informed that his skills would likely be called upon, as well, with time.
The young Chuunin was saved from the battlefield for as long as he could be spared, but, when he was sixteen, Ryo and a hastily thrown-together unit of Chuunin were sent out to fight for their village. It was the first real battle Ryo had ever been in; he was horrified as he watched childhood friends cut down by Iwagakure Shinobi - the underhanded bastards using any means necessary to dispatch their foes - his friends - in order to win the skirmish. It sickened him, the way human life could be thrown away so easily.
It was the first of many battles; a long eight years lay ahead of the young Shinobi. Eight years full of pain, loss, and anguish. In his eighteenth year, he was in a skirmish against some Iwagakure Jounin, and the skilled hand-to-hand and Doton fighters managed to get the upperhand on the Ninjutsu protege; he was bested, but picked up by Med-Nin before he was able to die from blood loss. Unfortunately, however, the pinky finger of Ryo's left hand was gone, and the index of his right - he was unable to perform a number of Jutsus because of the loss of his fingers, but the taleted Sarutobi modified the handseals of many of his Jutsu so that he could still use them effectively without all of his fingers.
The Shinobi was promoted to the rank of Jounin when he was twenty-one - something that his parents and Clan were immensely proud of. He was given a graduation present from Hiruzen himself - a set of especially strong kunai, from Konohagakure's best metalsmith.
As a Jounin, he was placed in charge of a small group of Shinobi - a sign of the Hokage's trust in his ability. As was his nature, Ryo usually handled confrontations in a head-on fashion; and, although this caused losses, Ryo's personal combat ability and his head for command meant that most battles ended in his favour.
Ryo survived the war - if only barely - and he was one of the only graduates from his class in the Academy to do so. He came back a changed man. No longer an innocent child, he was a seasoned war veteran - a true Shinobi.
Ryo was informed, a few months after his return to the village, that he would be placed in charge of a Genin cell, as their Jounin-Sensei. On top of his other responsibility of guarding Konohagakure against the possibility of attacks from other villages, he deduced that he was going to be a very busy man for the next few months.
Appearance:
Ryo Sarutobi stands at a respectable 5'11", with the body of an athlete. His skin tone is a few shades darker than ivory, his complexion near flawless - save for a few freckles and scars marring his facial features.
He has the build of an experienced, seasoned athlete. His shoulders are broad, leading down to bulky, toned arms. Ryo's stomach is flat and toned, his abs tapering down to narrow hips, continuing on to the muscled legs of a long-distance runner. Because of the rigorous training he puts himself through at least twice a week, the Sarutobi is in peak physical condition.
The Shinobi has light brown hair, tied back behind his head in a ponytail, the odd bang falling into his emerald green eyes on occasion. He wears the standard uniform for a Jounin in his village; complete with flak jacket and grey sandals. His headband rests around his left bicep, the metal plate that held his village's insignia polished until it gleamed.
Although Ryo survived the war, he didn't come back unscathed. He sports two scars on either of his cheeks, both of almost equal length - about an inch long, a few milometers wide, and an ugly white colour. As well as the visible scars on his cheeks, his torso is covered in red, diagonal, criss-cross burns - but he makes an issue of wearing a shirt whenever possible.
He is missing the pinky finger of his left hand, and the index finger of his right - a result of an ambush with a group of Iwagakure Shinobi. Despite the loss of his fingers, Ryo modified all of his Jutsu so that he could perform them with his limited arsenal of handseals.
Abilities and Armament:
Ryo specializes in Fire Release, and his long list of abilities prove it. His prowess with the chakra nature could only be rivaled by the Uchiha. There was no need to test Ryo for his chakra nature; the child prodigy was using Fire Release before he even graduated the academy. His specialty is mid range combat, and as a highly volatile confrontationalist, his mid-range combat proves to save as many allies as it does eliminate enemies. Ryo is not limited to fire, nor mid-range, however. Ryo has only onechakra nature, but shows skill with two other subsequent natures; furthering his reputation as a protige. Using wind to either augment his fire or merely knock enemies out of close range and earth to defend himself and escape, he proves to be as versatile on the battlefield as he is dangerous. This all, however, leaves out the greatest weapon in Ryo's arsenal:
The White Fire Lotus - A Hiden Technique originally created by the Senju, few Shinobi have ever perfected the White Fire techniques. White Fire burns hotter and consumes more chakra than regular Fire Release. For a single Flame Bullet made of White Fire, over three times the chakra would be utilized for the technique. This cost, however, comes with great benefits. White Fire can consume other jutsu as if it were counter balancing them of their own nature, regardless of chakra nature interations. White Fire will burn through water techniques, and drain them of their chakra. Likewise, White Fire gains no benefit from wind as it merely drains its chakra and leaves it a null breeze. White Fire melts through solid rock, and ignores the impulses of lightning. Ryo is the last known patrician of the White Fire Lotus, bearing the White Lotus tattoo on his back to represent his teachings. In the past, only the most Elite Senju could endure the strain of the abilities, but through intense training, Ryo has proved that the Sarutobi can have nearly the same endurance.
Katon: Kurae Myaku Nagashi no Jutsu (Fire Release: Devouring Pulse Stream) - After a set of three handsigns, Ryo engulfs his hand in white fire. In the direction to which his index and middle finger are pointed afterwards, a jet of thin, pressurized fire will thrust forward fifty meters. This White Fire is designed to be a piercing technique; it is small, has little colateral damage and can pierce through almost any armor. The White Fire Jetstream, once launched, is almost impossible to stop, and can no longerbe controled by Ryo. After using this jutsu, Ryo's hands are burnt, albeit not severely. This limits this jutsu to usage twice a day; once per hand.
Katon: Kurae Muchi kagayai no Jutsu (Fire Release: Devouring Flaring Whip) - After using the Tiger Hand Seal, Ryo may grab a whip or handle and ignite it with White Fire temporarily. This jutsu drains his chakra quickly, only allowing for five minutes of usage at a time, and usage afterwards exhausting Ryo and his chakra supply greatly. The White Fire of the whip incinerates any actual whip that was once in place, and can slice through barriers. The chakra radiating off of the whip blocks most sensors temporarily. The whip itself is described as a "tether of lava" to anything it touches.
Katon: Kurae Shironobi no Jutsu (Fire Releasing: Devouring White Wildfire) - After a series of concentration and twelve handsigns, Ryo charges his chakra and immediately converts it into White Fire which he then expells forward as a large dragon's head. This technique is the ultimate in balistics for Ryo as it is nearly unstoppable due to the nature of White Fire and its relationship with other chakra. After the dragon hits its primary target, it then explodes to cause colateral damage and light afire anything in the area. The White Fire quickly burns out, but leaves regular fire in its place. This jutsu utterly exhausts Ryo, and has only been used a few times in his lifetime. After use, it confines him to a hospital bed for at least a week. Ryo created this Jutsu, and he fears it; keeping it secret from all that he can.
