Avatar: Republic City's last hope

After the unfortunate passing of Avatar Korra, a new avatar was born in Republic City. His name was Kyle (Names! I need names!). He trained since birth, mastering the techniques of the four elements. Instead of bringing peace to this world, Avatar Kyle decided to use his power to rule over Republic City. He forced every bender into slavery, and allowed all the nonbenders a life of luxury. Life continued this way in Republic City for several years. But, like every story, not everyone would submit to the Avatar. There were rebel forces scattered across Republic City everywhere. But none were strong enough to overthrow the avatar.
But, it was almost as if the spirits didn't side with the avatar. A select group of children were granted the ability to bend not only one element, but two. Water-Earth, Fire-Air, Earth-Fire, And so on. These certain people (Controlled by the RPers) meet each other in some way (To be decided), and work together to take down the avatar.

Bio: She lived happily in a small house with her mother- who could bend the element air and her father- who could bend water. Their lives were peaceful. That was until the day soldiers came for her parents. Her father fought back and he was struck down by on angry soldier. Alicen was only four at the time and witnessed everything. Her mother was taken away, leaving poor Alice to fend for herself. She was taken in by a kind neighbor who taught her how to control her abilities even though he was not a bender. When she grew old enough she swore that she would do everything in her power to stop the Avatars reign and put a stop to all the madness.
Personality: Shy, kind, sweet, quiet, loyal, stubborn when she wants to be, kind of oblivious at times.

Bio: Zyu was born into an nonbending family. Zyu discovered his bending when he was walking through the market, alone. He had been looking at pet rabbit-sloths (Why not?) and he threw his hands up in the air when the merchant wouldn't give him a pet for free, and fire came out of the tips of his fingers. He knew immediately that he was going to get into trouble, so he ran straight home. When the men who spotted him came to his house, his parents thought they were just playing games and denied everything they said they saw. His mother's exact words were, "If my son is a firebender, he would head straight to the coal mines! I don't want any rotten filth lingering in my house!" It was clear he wouldn't be tolerated there, if his parents found out.
He discovered he was a waterbender when he was bathing one day, and started to mimic the hand motions of a waterbender, just for the fun of it. When he could actually move the water with his hands, he knew something was wrong. He never told his parents.
Personality: Zyu is a rather calm person. Zyu's personality reflects a firebender more than a waterbender. He gets angry easy, and he typically isn't very patient.
Appearance: Zyu is rather tall, standing 6' 2". He has blue eyes, with black hair that lays flat against his head, and goes down to his shoulders. When he isn't wearing his water-tribe outfit (Later on in the RP, he will gain one), he wears dirt brown pants, and a plain white t-shirt with dirt stains covering the front and back. He has a burn on his wrist from practicing firebending.

Bio: Xin Li-Long wasn't actually born in Republic City. The place of his birth is unknown to him, for his story is a strange one. Seventeen years ago, a ship, traveling from the Fire Nation to Republic City, sank in the ocean. No investigation was ever attempted, but rumors abounded...there were whispers that the ship contained supplies for the Rebellion, that on the day the ship sank, Republic City airships flew over the ocean. Only a few people have any clue what truly went on that day.

The wreckage of the ship washed up on a small island, and on this island lived a hermit from the Fire Nation. He lived his days in peace, just him and his pet hawk, playing imaginary games of Pai Sho and practicing his fire bending. On the day the ship washed up, the hermit scavenged through the remains for anything he could use.

Suddenly, a cry pierced the air, and a gout of fire burst out of the wreckage. The hermit moved to the now burning piece of wreckage...and found a baby, wrapped in a water-proofed tarp and tied to a life preserver. The child looked up at him and let out another cry--and a great breath of fire. The hermit took the child, named him, and raised him. The boy was a natural at fire bending, though he had trouble controlling the fierocity of his flames, but he had little of the cleverness that playing Pai Sho required. Still the hermit made him play, every day.

One day, seemingly out of the blue, the hermit decided that Xin Li-Long needed to see the world. So he set him on a boat and, after warning him of the dangers of Republic City, sent his "son" off into the world. And as Xin drifted away, the hermit tied a message to the leg of his hawk, along with a small pouch containing a Pai Sho piece. A white lotus.

Personality: Xin has a good heart, but he isn't very clever and he is extremely stubborn. He doesn't think things through very well and just says what comes to mind, which can make him hard to get along with. Secretely he's more than a little afraid of being out in this big wide world by himself.

Appearance: Xin stands around five feet eleven inches and is one hundred-and-fourty-five pounds. His skin is tanned from his days on the island, and he has black, wild, and spiky hair that goes every which way. His eyes are amber brown and bright. He has a lean musculature, and wears a sleeveless blue shirt with yellow trim around the hem and collar, and yellow buttons keeping the shirt fastened. He also wears a pair of black cloth pants and black, slip-on shoes.

Taouru was born in Republic City to two non-bending parents. His bending was never an issue; he only discovered his bending abilities at the age of 14, and even now he's still quite clumsy with them. He hasn't told anyone about these abilities, preferring to use them only for pragmatic purposes and in private. That being said, his parents are quite suspicious about his ability to dry clothing so quickly, but they've never said anything about the matter. Taouru has recently been getting nervous about the new Avatar's grip on the city, but he's not sure how to go about helping the matter.

Personality:
Taouru is a stoic sort, though this isn't so much out of a lack of emotion as much as his awkwardness with words. Additionally, Taouru tends to mess up in regards to interpreting social cues. Still, he's fiercely loyal to his friends and can have a playful streak. In short, what Taouru doesn't say with words, he makes up for with actions.

I've added a reserved spots/characters list. Ultimate, I've added you to the list. First come, first served. I didn't have a ton of time to make the OOC, so I kind of rushed when I explained things. I guess it doesn't matter now, but what I wanted to put in was something about the people who were on the interest check get a reserved spot, and then whoever posts first in the OOC (Besides the people who initially showed interest). I know I'm overthinking this, but that's just the way I am.

That works, you are accepted! I was going to say that it would be fine if your character was a water/airbender, you didn't have to change it, but you edited it. Whichever you would rather RP works for me. The way I have it now is a bit strict. Hiders aren't working for me, so we will just have to deal with horribly aligned spoiler tags.

I think i'll change it back to water/air. that kind of fits her personaility better. So do i need to change the hider on my image to a spoiler?
