Well, looks like Heart Gold/Soul Silver wins. Guess I should start up and see what happens. I'll do a new thread for the story chapters once I start them.

This is basically what I meant, I find Gen2 as the better games mechanically. The story was interesting but did not feel over done as later gens, the pokemon designs were great and had just enough variety to keep me looking around for more, and the game itself felt more streamlined in execution and less bulky than some of the later titles. But that's just how I feel, everyone has their personal favorites.
