    Mythos Merging

    The Premise

Over the years I've spent writing, I have accumulated a large number of completed storyarcs and events which started in other RPs - Something along the lines of a single character, with worldbuilding eventually leading to the establishment of their history and involvement with other characters, and so on and so forth until I had an entire interlinked web of characters, plots and worlds. And of course, when an RP ends, rather than starting from scratch in some new RP I simply carried everything over. In this way, each web kept getting larger and more complex, until it hit an upper threshold of sorts. There are a number of these 'Mythoses' I have lying around which are either literally too big to use in most small-setting RPs, or which have had the simple misfortune of being used in thread after thread that died before anything new could develop. I've hit a point of diminishing returns, one could say - each of these vast collections I've established can no longer grow excepting special conditions and context.

Simply put, I am looking for somebody else out here who has a similar collection of tales and events in the hopes that they might be interested in the idea of merging one or two of them and seeing what happens. The impetus for the story would simply be the driving forces behind the prestablished histories and events at work within both Mythoses suddenly colliding. While I don't expect different works to mesh together seamlessly, I think that just presents new avenues for exploration across both different sources.

    A few examples include:

-A Powered (Superheroes/villains) Mythos with more than a dozen different characters, each with an extensive history and list of deeds. Nominally takes place on Modern Day Earth - there's a bit of a disparity between the number of heroes versus villains (I like to make antagonistic characters more often than not), but it hasn't been too much of a problem yet. Both Hard Science and Magic are present.

-A Modern Day Subterfuge and Conspiracy Mythos, again with more than a dozen different characters with extensive backstories and accomplishments, also taking place on Modern Day Earth with a heavy Hard Science orientation and little to no Magic present.

-A Nation Mythos (Having Developed from a Nation Roleplay, obviously ) with more than fifty characters, most having an extensive history. Boasts an epic timeline spanning over a thousand years, from the origins of the nation to their eventual rise to power. Takes places on an unnamed continent of an unnamed world, so there's plenty of adaptational room, in a manner of speaking. Set during primitive times, dark ages/medieval period with Magic.

-A Space Nation Mythos (from another Nation Roleplay) with more than thirty characters, although admittedly fewer of them have backstories as extensive as those in the other sets - a good deal of those thirty characters have minor roles. Takes place in an unnamed region of space, providing for plenty of adaptational room. Heavy, heavy focus on Hard Science, although it's compatible with magical and fantasy elements should any pop up.

-A more small-scale Mythos with less focus on action, with a heavier focus on a smaller cast of characters still numbering more than a dozen, though many play minor roles. Set in an unnamed town a few miles out of the county of a large and developed city in an unnamed (noticing a trend here ) country, this Mythos focuses more on the lives of the town inhabitants while sprinkling on some Fantasy Horror for good measure, with a heavy Magical theme. Nominally set in Modern-Day Earth.

...And a few others, which while not as well developed as any of the above, have some potential for this particular proposal.

    The Dos and Don'ts

In terms of what I am willing to work with, there is very little I will reject - there's plenty of stuff I'm not particular fond of (incest comes to mind), but providing there's potential for a good story in there somewhere I'll do my best with what is available. I am perfectly fine with graphic torture, gore, viscera, etcetera, along with most mature themes. The only thing that immediately leaps to my mind that I will not at least try to work with a story dedicated entirely and wholly to romance and romantic themes, and while I'm fine with mature themes I will not write anything that is overtly erotic or pornographic in nature. That said, I am perfectly fine with having characters pursue romantic relationships with one another and with having such relationships be an integral part of any given plot.

I am wary of fandoms - there are a number of exceptions I would be more than glad to work with, but if you think that means I'm willing to work with My Little Pony or the like, think again. Assume "NO" just to be safe.

    Habits of the Creature

In case it was not already apparent, I am not looking for a partner who can only contribute for a few weeks or months. I am looking for something long term - if you grow tired of the project, think it's going nowhere, want out, that's fine. Ain't no thang, I don't hold grudges. But don't open that door unless you intend to close it behind you. In terms of productivity, I am usually online from 3:30 P.M. GMT -6 (for those of you that live in flagland, that corresponds neatly to 3:30 P.M. central standard time) to 12:00 A.M. or later. I am prompt with my work, and I usually announce when something will be done in advance, and I will similar give advance warning if something comes up on my end of the line and I need to move something back a bit. This is for when I am forced to work in the absence of my partner, which leads me to my next point.

When it comes to actual collaborative writing, I prefer to make use of sync.in, a realtime collaborative word document and chat room where writers can write in synchrony with one another while actively conversing as the same time. I find that it immensely streamlines the collaborative process. That said there are some people who have connectivity issues with it - Sync.in is the most stable collaborative system out there currently, but if it doesn't work for us then I am fine with switching to another equivalent or even resorting to regular PMs, though I find such a prospect daunting considering the proposed depth of what we'll be working with.

And that's it. If you're interested, or have any questions, send me a PM and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

I don't think I have quite as many as you do but I've got a couple that are closed off and completed. My timezone is GMT-7 but right now (daylight savings time) it acts like it's GMT-6. My available times would primarily be anytime after 10:00PM but there are some days where I'll be on as early as 4:00PM.
