If I feel i need to defend myself I'll defend myself. If that results in having to hit her then yeah sure, although I would say that every conditioned part of myself would be screaming "NO DON'T BEAT WOMEN IT'S WRONG" as I do it.
Patrick Stewart has recently recounted the abuse his mother suffered under his father. The poor guy went through a lot, not just as a Star Fleet Captain, but as a little boy.
However in the comments section under the article where I read his words, someone else said:
"Even if a woman becomes physically abusive, it is still not acceptable to hit a woman."
What are people's feelings, comments, etcetera, over this statement?
Self defence is never wrong. Of course unless you've got some VERY strong evidence it'd be the bloke going down in court every single time due to the whole "Woman says Man bashes her. MONSTER!. Man says woman bashed him. Everyone Laughs."
Slap that bitch back. Seriously, it might be cuz im a woman, but I wouldnt back down if she made the first move. She prolly had it coming.
The problem usually lies in the fact that men tend to be phyisically more imposing them their spouses. Not always, but most of the time. This lends to people thinking the man is in the wrong because he used said size/strenght to hurt soeone naturally more vurnable. The promblem is, women can hurt men, there are plenty of cases where women beat their spouses with bunt objects and shit. But still, many times it is ruled in the womans favor.

Ghandi approach.
Just because someone wronged you.
-Two wrongs does not automaticly keep you in the right, especially if you are of shakey moral standings to begin with.

If we succeed, it is at the point of the sword.
If there is a long dispute, then both parties are wrong.
