Well, I've read the series through God Emperor, and I think I saw the movie on TV once, so you've got one.I'm also a very very big fan. The original Dune is one of my favorite books of all time.

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing...
Only I will remain.
you just made yourself one of my favorite people... though I only read the first book. Majority of the people told me it progressively diminished...
Hmm, it depends on what you like. I agree that the first of them is the best, but the series on a whole is still very interesting. I'd recommend at least Dune Messiah, because it continues the story of Paul, and approaches the first in quality. The next two, Children of Dune and God Emperor of Dune... are different. That's the best way to describe them. They focus on Paul's children and descendants, and it's simply a different story. Children, at least, is still very good, though. If you get through Messiah, I'd recommend Children.

Also interested, having read the book of course. Though, I really want to see what you had in mind.
