Mass Effect: Galaxy at War (OOC Up) (Recruitment Open) (IC Up)

"The Reaper War came unthinkably close to eradicating the Galaxy. Driven by the need to preserve first-hand experiences from those Apocalyptic months, while they still exist in living memory Casey Hudson traveled across the Galaxy to record the testimony of men, women, and sometimes children who came face-to-face with the living, or at least synthetic, Hell of that time. Galaxy at War is the Result. Some of those voices were chosen for the uniqueness of the perspectives and information they provide. Others are included because they speak for the Billions who were forever silenced. Never before have we had access to a recording that so powerfully conveys the Fear and Horror and also the brave spirit of Resistance that gripped Galactic society through the 'Harvest Months' "

First off if you spot the thinly veiled references, a million brownie points for you

Secondly, this is exactly as it sounds. This is a rp meant to chronicle the events of the Reaper War, from Post-Arrival in ME 2 to the final charge in London. I need players in a multitude of roles. From soldiers on the front lines to civilians trying to survive to the movers of the War and everything in between. N7s, Starship Pilots, Doctors, Politicians, Journalists, Businessmen, Criminals, Cerberus, Indoctrinated, every role in the War will be explored. This isn't just about combat but the real effects that a destructive war had on the Galaxy (Walk around the Citadel listening to NPCs to see what I mean) and interactions between characters. There can be multiple concurrent plots as well. Main quests, sidequests, DLC, will be explored as well as original plots some based on Multiplayer maps, events, and challenges like Operation Lodestar.

You can play multiple characters, like having a Spy and a Medic for example. You can only play as Humans, the Council Races, Krogan, Drell, Batarians, Vorcha, and Quarians at first in both combat and non-combat. Specialized classes like Justicars, Warlords, Phoenix, Talons, and Cabal will be available later. Elcor, Hanar, and Volus will be non-combat to start with. But later you can play as Geth, Rachni, Infiltration Units, Volus soldiers, Elcor tanks, and yes even Collectors. Hell, a Yahg character and a Leviathan-controlled Marauder could be available too. The point however, is uniqueness. I don't want every character to be a rare badass like a Shadow so those kinds of outlandish roles are limited to the first ones who ask and who can prove they can handle it.

And for those players who provide a good sample, they can play as Canon characters. From Admiral Hackett and the ME 2 Squad, Aria and Bailey, to background characters like Conrad Verner to anonymous Refund Guy and characters from the in-game news like Rolan Quarn. And yes, I need bad guys. People who I think can play Illusive Man, Kai Leng, Indoctrinated agents, Unique Cerberus operatives, Reaper Cyborgs and others. And there a few more sensitive roles you can play as if you inquire. Any-one interested in Co-Gm can state their interest below

This is meant to chronicle the war from before the first shots to the moments after, so Civilians start with a bunch of stuff and then have to scrounge if their homes are hit or fight to keep what they have if they live on the Citadel. Businessmen, Scientists, and other war-related civvies progress in their efforts to build resources starting from scratch. Soldiers start with basic equipment and skills and level-up based on Mission Progress. You can get creative with your equipment and powers, you're not limited to what's in-game but you should stay in reason.

The performance and choices of these characters will determine if the war if a relative success or a faint victory.

So there ya have it. My first from a long absence and my most ambitious rp ever. I need a dizzying amount of players so sign-ups at the moment are unlimited. What y'all think?

EDIT: Oh yeah and you can die either by choice or bad decisions. If you don't react in the correct ways to a problem you could be wounded, captured, or killed. Goes for good guys and bad. So if you're a Cerbie you can be captured by the Alliance but your friends can break you out. Or you could defect. Allied Soldiers can be captured and indoctrinated or harvested.

EDIT: And characters that were lazily written out of ME 3 come back too. So the lucky player can roleplay as Kal'Reegar, Emily Wong, Rana Thanoptis, and Aresh. And in this Universe, Shep is a dude but FemShep exists as his sister also available for roleplay. He is also a Paragon so if any characters have a chance at being alive, they're available. Characters from the side-games, comics, novels, and anime are available too. Since Deception isn't canon anymore, Gillian Grayson and other novel characters are available.

I'm interested. Love the Mass Effect trilogy, and play the Multiplayer often in ME3. I can jump into any role, just whatever is most interesting, I suppose. Is a Cerberus Guardian okay to play?

Yep, you can play a Guardian. An "elite" Guardian or a regular one. Keep in mind that if you want your character to live, you either have to defect or go into hiding to avoid being indoctrinated like the rest of Cerberus.

May go with the defecting, if I do play a Guardian. Mind telling me what an 'elite' Guardian is?

Basically you're not one of the rank and file. You're a Special Operative with fancy equipment and stuff. The idea is to have other elite enemies to fight besides Kai Leng.

Ah, sounds neat. I'll be ready for the OOC if and when it starts up.

Might be interested. And yes...I do in fact recognize most of that intro from World War Z. Very nice touch.

If this is still in the works, I'd be interested. Would the head of a small semi(read un)successful mercenary company be an acceptable character?
