Those Among Us (Powers with a twist)

Welcome, And thanks for reading.

I've always been interested in superheros. Not only because I think Batman is kind of cool, but the powers they wield and the social and physiological impact their powers have on them. A long time ago I made a roleplay similar to this, but I've come back to refine it.


Where:

The roleplay takes place on Devon island, an island located in the south pacific off of New Zealand. This island has a variety of geographical structures but has mostly gone on documented. All that is known of it is that Nasco's base of operations and head research facilities are located.

What:

The main mechanic around this role play is gaining a mysterious power, a result of Nasco's experiments and learning how to use that power. The trick is that you don't know what power you'll get. Everyone will have a detailed power Pm'd to them, leaving an air of secrecy around it, and causing distrust in the group.

Another big feature is Nasco, a mysterious corporation that operated behind the veil for fifteen years. As of 2018 all their facilities mysteriously shut down, and all employees of the research and development giant all vanished. Nasco is a big focus in this Roleplay, as they are responsible for most of the events that transpire on Devon island.


When:

The Roleplay takes place in 2020, only eight years into the future. In that time most things haven't changed, however a variety of technological advancements have taken place. Most of the world has gone mobile or tablet based, and borders have fluxed a little.


Why:

The motivations of you, are entirely up to you. Odds are you won't win. You can die, and I'll be sure to remind you every now or then with a injury. You don't need to save the day. Maybe you want to rule the island? That's fine. Maybe you just want to know what the hell happened to you. Maybe you'll want to reverse your powers, escape the island or get down to the bottom of Nasco Corporation.
