    CW PRESENTS: THE FLASH

    EPISODE 1: PILOT

My name is Walter West, my friends call me Wally, but in to the world, I'm dead. Walter West doesn't exist in the future, not after being sentenced to death row for what he did to the world. So now, I must atone for his sins, to do that, I must not let his past catch up with mine. To do that, I must become... THE FASTEST MAN ALIVE

    2023- The Future

In the upper corner of the dark, dank cell, a small television set automatically turns on, but otherwise the whole cellblock of Death Row is silent as inmates get the sleep that they will soon get for an eternity.

One such of those dangerous inmates of Iron Heights is Walter West, who at one point was a hero in the outside world, but like his friends here, he cracked under the pressures of life. He did something he so desperately regrets, but seeing as how the world wanted his blood for what he did, he knew that chance was long gone.

So he turned in his cot, and watched as the television ticked down his date with death...

    2013- PRESENT TIME

It was quite a good day, weather wise, he thought as he jogged through the neighborhood during his morning run. Wally wasn't even sweating yet, this simple 10 minute run hardly ever tired him out, but it, and listening to his Ipod during the run was his morning ritual just about everyday. It was apart him, running was.

After the run, he jogged into his duplex, owned by his single mother who slept days and worked nights at a diner. Quietly, he got into the shower and turned on his radio to listen to Save Me by Remy Zero.

"Save me," he whispered as the water washed over him.

After the shower, he got dressed up for his day of high school as a Junior, putting on a dark red t-shirt, a red sweatjacket and baggy black jeans that he helped keep up by using a silver belt buckle.

Then he left his house with a peice of french toast and a water bottle, "another day of the same," he groaned and grabbed his skateboard by the door before heading out.

    2013-PRESENT TIME

The worst way to wake up in the morning...the hellish sound of the alarm clock ringing. From within the rubble of sheets and pillows of the bed, an elastic hand shot out, breaking the clock with a decisive hit.

    "Finally I can get some..."

"RALPH, BREAKFAST IS READY." a voice was heard from downstairs. The voice of his mother, Miriam Dibny was calling for him. And sadly, he could not simply fight back with her, not like the alarm clock at least. Ralph Dibny, the malleable junior detective of Keystone(a moniker he adopted for himself) yawned and slowly got up from his bed, heading for the bathroom. While taking care of his personal hygiene,he remembered that he had to check out any comments about the newest article he posted in Long Arm News.com about a certain vigilante that was dressing like a Dracula in one of the most arguably corrupted and crime ridden cities in the country but that would have to wait.Maybe he would ask in person once he goes to school he thought to himself.

As he finished brushing his teeth, Ralph headed to his closet to see what was available. He dressed up on a set of white shirt with a violet colored hoodie, combined with black jeans and sneakers. After a last check up on the mirror, and after a quick brush of his reddish-orange hair using his fingers while yelling an "I am coming mom", stretching his arm to grab the school-bag from across the room and scale down the stairs.

    Present Day:

The morning was only starting, for the man known as Victor Sage. He spent his morning in his basement apartment he was renting. One light in the entire room, a bed, a desk with a laptop on. A wall filled with pictures, newsarticles and other pieces of information. Dots with red strings attached to them was also pinned to the wall. Victor was keeping track of 14 different cases at a time right now. He didn't really need to make up the web of information on the wall, he remembered it all, weather he wanted to or not anyway. He was currently exercising. He was doing push-ups, and had previously done sit-ups. He had slept less than two hours tonight. Tracing criminal activity from the police scanner all night.

His shift at the diner would start in a few hours, not that it mattered much, but it netted him some cash, his dad was gonna try and get him into the local police department.
It’s not on the menu, but might I suggest the ‘I got my ass kicked’ martini?

    2023- The Future
It was about 11 at night when Ted Kord finally looked at his clock. Raising an eye, he realized that he had been working nonstop for the past couple of hours. It hadn't seemed that long. Was it weird that he hadn't gotten bored? Nah. Nothing was weird to a guy who spent most of his time leaping about in a spangly bug costume fighting crime.

Rising up from his office desk, he headed towards the door. Halfway there though, something caught his eye. Turning to his right he approached a small cabinet. On top sat about five photo frames. One stood out in particular. In it stood two men. The one on the left was Ted from a few years ago. He was in his old costume beaming towards the camera. The man on the right was also smiling. Walter West. He too wore his old costume. Walter was the Flash. Emphasis on the was.

    2013= The Present
Ted woke to the sound of his alarm beeping loudly. After a brief yawn and stretch he managed to move himself towards the bathroom where he spent the next ten minutes showering. Next he dressed. Jeans and a blue sweater. Nothing too classy. Besides today wasn't anything special.

Strolling into the main living room of the penthouse he gave a smile at his dad who was in the middle of reading the paper. After receiving a reply in the form of a grunt from the man, Ted sighed. Once again, his own father wasn't even going to say goodbye before he went to school. He forced himself not to comment on his by putting his attention into eating the breakfast that the butler placed in front of him. Half way through the meal, he father rose and left. He didn't even glance once at Ted.

Now a bit pissed off, Ted also took his leave. Grabbing his schoolbag, he headed for the elevator, his private driver following behind him.

<21...22...23> she would count in her head with each pushup. Something she would do to pass time in this hole, push ups, situps, any kind of excercise she could in this cell. Death row as it was called in the prison world. A few of the prisoners she had put away were in this very section of the jail. One would figure that she would have been dead already from the prisoners whom she had put in here, she may have been, were it not for the fact that she had gotten into a fight pretty much the moment she got in here. It had been completely self defense, but the man who tried to kill her ended up hospitalized. Why would someone like Artemis Crock be in jail? Simple, she had snapped, she couldn't remember exact details of the whole ordeal, but she did remember killing several people, ruthlessly.

    2013 - Present
The sound of evanesence could be heard from Artemis' room as she did her morning muscle routine, pushups, situps, pullups, crunches, and various other ups and excercises. She liked to keep herself in top physical form. There was no reason for it and hasn't been for 8 years, but it had become a habit. Not only did it give her a body that made many girls at her school jealous, but it also gave her top marks in Gym class, and really helped her on the Archery Team. The voice of her mother could be heard from down stairs, resounding through the apartment. From her back, she flipped forward onto her feet and stopped the music. She grabbed the towel on her bed and wiped her face as she walked out in a white sports bra and forest green sweatpants, to the kitchen where breakfast was on the table, her wheelchair bound mother waiting so they could eat. She never did figure out how her mother could do half the things she did, but she never questioned it.

Artemis sat down to a nice breakfast of waffles, sausage, and a nice glass of milk and grapefruit juice, pulp and all. A nice high energy breakfast to get her through the day she closed her eyes and spoke "Ban phước cho này thực phẩm chúng ta ăn và ban phước cho những người đă làm cho nó.1" to which her mother added on "và có thể các linh hồn xem qua chúng tôi ngày này2". On the TV in the living room she heard something about a man dressed as Dracula stopping a criminal. Something to add to rumors of vigilantes popping up these days. She poured the syrup onto the stack of waffles she had served herself. "Funny thing these days with these vigilantes popping up these days huh?" Paula nodded "Yeah I know, but I suppose it's something better than criminals running amok" Artemis nodded. She continued her morning conversation with her mother before finishing her breakfast. She headed back to her room and dressed in her jogging gear which was a bright green tank top and forest green swim trunks, and a plain white pair of old tennies, stuffing her clothing and shower things in her gym bag and her school stuff in her back pack.

Coming back out she quickly helped her mom clean up the kitchen before waving her mother goodbye for the day, starting her walk downstairs, than her jog to school where she would use the gym showers before class started.

    2013 - Present Day

The alarm was a thick hunk of solid plastic, almost one piece bar the flap on the bottom and the perspex time display. It was hugely resilient and built to survive falling down several flights of stairs. Nonetheless there were slight fracture marks at the corners of the screen and a large chunk missing from the snooze button. It went off with a shrill, demanding buzz and a hand came flying from beneath the covers to slam down hard on the button, a chunk of plastic flew from the clock and it bounced onto the floor, still screaming. Slowly but surely, limb by limb, a creature emerged from beneath the covers, reaching for the clock that lay a few feet away from the bed. It just happened to be fractionally too far to reach. There was a pause, and then Megan Morse rolled out of bed and toed the button. Finally the clock shut up.

She yawned, and actually checked the time now, before sighing and putting the battered alarm clock back on the bedside cabinet. Padding through to the bathroom, she checked herself in the mirror, making sure that she hadn't slipped during the night, it was ok, she was still human looking and she turned the shower on. Fifteen minutes later she made her way downstairs, that was the advantage of being able to manipulate your own structure and appearance, she didn't need to spend a long time getting ready, though for the sake of Noah and Michelle Gregory's sanity she did make use of normal clothes, she still wore her normal clothing underneath but they would begin to wonder why she never seemed to need to wash any clothes.

There was a note on the fridge, "gone to work sweetheart, help yourself to the fridge."

It would be her first day at Keystone High, J'onn had sent her here to keep her from under his feet, but first made her swear not to interfere. She'd promised, but how long she might keep that promise was another matter entirely, surely she couldn't just turn her back if someone needed help. She'd resolved that she'd do her best to help without revealing herself, hopefully that wouldn't be too hard. Noah and Michelle were ok, J'onn had saved Noah's life while disguised as John Jones and the two had struck up a fast friendship, Noah had moved away but the two had moved away. Unfortunately when J'onn's niece was 'orphaned' he was unable to look after her, so turned to Noah. The Gregory's had been hesitant, but had never been able to have children of their own, so had agreed to look after Megan on a probationary basis, so long as she didn't get in to too much trouble.

She grabbed a box of cereal and pouring it into a bowl grabbed some milk from the fridge, unscrewed the lid and poured it into the bowl. She returned everything to it's place without moving and then sat at the breakfast bar and ate the Frosties. Opening the fridge she spotted the packed lunch with her name written on it and stuffed it in her bag, before looking about the unfamiliar kitchen and heading out, the school bus would be going past in five minutes, she didn't want to be late on her first day.

    2023 - The Future

The floor is bare, save for a once thick, but now threadbare rug in the centre of the room. But the room is not bare of furniture, a bed, a desk, a chair, even a bookshelf all floating a few feet above the floor. The television mounted to the wall flexes and groans as it seeks to tear itself away from the wall. The bed is fully dressed, a slim figure occupying it, tossing and turning restlessly, her hair, falling messily about her face is long and purple, magenta to be exact. Frances Kane woke with a start and the furniture fell to the floor with a crash, the chair toppled onto it's side and books scattered across the floor, a picture frame fell from a shelf, face down onto the floor and shattered.

    "No!!!"

She was sweating, and the sheets clung to her drenched skin, beads of sweat forming on her forehead. Panting, she dropped her raised hand and the television groaned, now facing the ceiling, the mount twisted horribly out of shape. She climbed out of bed and walked towards the photo, holding her hand out above the frame. It floated upwards with the tinkle of falling glass. She took it out of the air and turned it over, picking the shards from the edges of the photo, she recoiled as she cut her finger, but went back to pulling the pieces of glass from the edges of the frame, her blood reflecting the dim light wetly. She sucked her finger thoughtfully, then placed the frame delicately back on the shelf, a little blood remained, smeared on a photo of a boy and a girl, in high school...

    2013 - Present day

Frances clutched her folder to her chest, watching the other kids walk past, skate past. Some were getting off the school bus, others had obviously walked in. She smiled at a few of them, ignored the rest and waited. She'd been up early, as usual, showered and ready ten minutes before she actually had to leave. She always was, her mother had driven her to school, dropping her off outside the gates. She was usually the first here anyway, of her group of friends, the only punctual one in a group of permanent late comers. She smiled at her own train of thought, thinking of the gangling Wally, always in a rush, yet somehow always late for everything.

She was waiting for him, as usual, they didn't share all their classes, but she guessed there were some privileges you got as a girlfriend. She smiled and waved as she saw him approaching in the distance.About time. She waved at him and smiled. Another bus pulled up and her view was obscured by the crowd of people that made their way past, so, knowing that Wally would catch up she began to walk slowly towards the main building.

    2023

Walter sat up and slowly ran a leathery hand through his hair before he looked up from the shadows of his cell at the television set. Inset, was a camera showing the full view of Iron Heights, a complete 2-3 complex that housed the most dangerous criminals of the Midwest. The ticker below the video feed read:

    TODAY'S THE DAY FLASH DIES

Slowly, he took a folded peice of paper out of his jumpsuit pocket and walked to his barred door. On the note, it read: ART, THE WORLD IS WATCHING. Then he pulled a soft, yet long white yarn string from his pocket, tied it to the note and threw it at an angle so that it landed at a cell away from his restricted view.

    2013

Riding his skateboard in the morning Sun, it took Wally only a few minutes quicker than the school bus to get to the main building of the campus. He saw his girlfriend for a moment, waiting for him before the bus pulled in front of him. He stopped and kicked the board in his arms before walking around it. "Hey France," Wally winked at her and ran a quick hand through his ruffled hair as he caught up with her, "how's your morning going?"

    2023

As she finished the last rep of her normal workout routine, Artemis heard the soft sound of paper hitting the ground. She looked over to see that it was attached to a string, from the cell next to hers. She crawled over to the cell bars and looked about to make sure no guards were coming by and pulled the note in, and read it. She sighed and pulled out a small pencil hidden in her ponytail and wrote on the back side. "What do you expect Wally, after what the 6 of us did, at least the others got away." She tied the not back up lightly and tossed it back, near perfectly in front of the cell bars the note had been thrown from. She couldn't offer up anything to give hope to their situation.

Artemis got up, hiding the pencil back in her hair, she went over to her bunk and layed on it, contemplating things, like escape, many of the plans doomed to failure, the most successful ones being at the execution site, but she didn't know how they'd be executed, given the publicity, it was likely something akin to the Saddam Hussein execution, than her mother came to mind. It had hurt Artemis to see the look of her Mother's face when she told her what had happened, prior to her arrest, the safety of her mother kept her in the cell, especially knowing what she knew about her mother. She finally gave in and looked at the small TV in her cell, showing the countdown to the first execution. Her heart was with Wally... hoping he could find the strength...

    2013

Artemis jogged up to the school, seeing Wally there several minutes before the bus, with his Girlfriend of the moment. As careless as he seemed at times, he could be rather punctual, something that surprised her. She came up to the two, jogging in place "Hey Franky, hey Wally, I'll catch you guys on first break" She soon set off quickly, running at a pace that would put some of the track team to shame. She made her way to the girl's locker room at the back of the school, and soon got to work on her before school shower.

The bus was crowded, and she tried to talk, but no one was interested in the new kid. She sat at the front of the bus, on a seat with a boy who was playing on his PSP for the entire journey. She got off without too much trouble, despite being jostled and pushed by at least a dozen different kids. She stumbled, but caught herself before she fell. She looked up, and spotted the guy she'd caught herself on, tall, dark haired and with a girl. She smiled nervously, "sorry, I didn't mean to... sorry."

She turned bright red with embarrassment and rushed away before the couple could say anything. She had a meeting with the principal, and sure enough, ten minutes, and several wrong turns later there she was outside the principals office. As far as she'd been able to ascertain you only ended up speaking to the principal when you were in trouble. She hadn't done anything wrong, so it must be one of those strange customs they had here on earth.

She sat with her bag on her knees, glancing nervously at the typist who tapped away on her keyboard, casting the odd disapproving glare in her direction, as though she was there for some dreadful crime. She bowed her head, hiding her face behind her hair and waited in dread for those fateful words. "He will see you now."
