    NEPTUNE CITY
    High School of Heroes

Students and staff, welcome to Alexandria High~!

Alexandria High is one of the most energetic and prestigious high schools in the nation. It is located near the center of Neptune City, on the east coast of the United States. Everything is peaceful, and the city is full of catchy hot spots, jazz cafes, and illustrious businesses during the day. There never seems to be enough time in the day in this fast paced city. Though there are many events and activities during the day, during the night... in certain sections of the city... like a flipped switch the criminal underbelly reveals itself. Murderers, psychopaths, evil scientists, and other men with sinister smiles and greedy stares plot to prey upon the defenseless. Supplying the technology for the destruction of the city is billionaire Victor A. Masters. As he begins executing his plans for world domination, the twisted megalomaniac is eager for one thing. Super powers. As experiments and machines rise, and all hope seems lost... fate throws a curve ball smack dab into the diabolical man's plans in the form of a team of young heroes.

    The Amazing Cosmo!

Sprawled out in bed, snoring, rested the incalculably affable and always foolish Kevin Terrez. He rolled over with a groan when the alarm clock went off. "Shut up. Shut up. SHUT UP!" Kevin blurted as he swung for it. He quickly calmed down when his 'theme song' came on, though. Slowly, rhythmically, his head began bobbing to the beat as 'Eye of the Tiger' came on. "Rising up! Back on the street! Took my time, took my chances!" As Kevin marched for the massive bathroom door which was connected directly to his equally lavish and exotic bedroom Kevin lost himself in the music. It didn't matter how sleepy he was or what the day would bring. This song, would make him overcome all. The groggy young man was quickly back to his energetic self as she showered while singing along 'Eye of the Tiger' at the top of his lungs.

Kevin swapped hands, doing vertical push ups on the bathroom sink, his feet high in the air as he swapped hands while brushing his teeth. Pushing himself down, Kevin threw some fierce punches, a cocky smirk on his face. As it neared the ending of the song Kevin threw his head back and noisily sang, "THE EYE OF THE TIGEEEEER~!"

Stepping out, doing a little dance on the carpet, Kevin slapped on some lotion and combed his hair, before applying deodorant. His large closet doors slid in opposite directions to reveal a ridiculously large closet full of clothes, hats, and shoes. It was like a mini mall. Dancing his way through it, still jamming to the song put on repeat, Kevin dressed himself and smirked coolly as he stopped to wink at the mirror. "Damn I'm pretty~"

Sliding down the railing of the staircase from the top floor of the mansion to the bottom, with no one there to chastise him, Kevin lifted a hand and Jeffery tossed him the keys. "Drive carefully Master Kevin." Jeffery offered in a refined voice. "Yup!" Kevin casually replied as he walked to the garage area.

Less than a minute later a screeching blue Bugatti Veyron hit the street, tires whining from abuse. Grinning, tinted blue sunglasses on his forehead, Kevin sped off towards school with the only care in the world being his comatose aunt. Not that he would let that slow him down. Kevin needed to keep living, and he needed to sort of how to handle it. He would, of course.. someday. Switching lanes, Kevin drove like a bat out of hell, that smug expression resting on his face. He couldn't wait to get to school, where all of his little fanboys and fangirls would be waiting. Stopping by the suburbs first, a handsome well built youth headed out with a lazy wave.

"Sup Garth?" Kevin said as his friend slipped in. "Huh? Ugh... Jessica is pissed... was up late last night arguing," Garth replied, a saddened look on his face. Kevin patted his back, and sped off, saying back, "Psh. She's one chick. Get over it, man. The world is full of bitches galore, ripe for the picking~!" Garth just shook his head, and sighed, wondering when his friend would ever grow up.

At the sight of the large and beautiful high school Kevin grinned. Alexandria High.. The school was boring and full of lame kids, but to Kevin, it was nice enough to be loved by someone after suffering the loss of his old gang. Garth grunted, and put his hands on the nearest flat surfaces as Kevin performed a wild maneuver, the spinning car pausing as Kevin switched to reverse, and sped into his parking spot. Emerging from his car, Kevin stretched, and grinned. "Ahhhh.. it's good to the be the Prince. HELLO MY LOYAL SUBJECTS~!" Kevin called out, and though a few people scoffed or rolled their eyes, it wasn't long before a group of noisily chatting teenagers liking nothing more than his gross wealth surrounded the spoiled youth. Garth sighed and followed Kevin. He didn't really enjoy being the center of attention as much as Kevin did, but he'd never let his friend get swept away by the money hungry vultures that were anything but true friends.

Baylee Maryann Allard - The Survivalist
    Jogging to Alexandria High School

    6:42 AM

The young female wore her hair up this morning with a scrunchie and an Alexandria Athletics sweatband. She wore a field hockey t-shirt, matching sweatpants, and some running shoes. Why did she dress like she was changing for gym class? Most students took the bus, some of the older students drove, but Baylee often jogged to school. She left between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM from her home in Central Neptune and arrived at school anywhere from 7:20 AM to 7:30 AM depending on how hard she pushed herself. The young woman started this routine two years ago and went from once a week to twice a week and is now pushing on three. She figured that it beat rolling out of bed with an alarm blasting in your ear, rushing to your car, and then speeding off in a mad frenzy. Anyone who did that, she often thought, needed to take a good hard look at themselves and figure out what they’re doing with their lives.

    6:43 AM

Baylee was running late. Literally. She barely had enough time to pack her homework and clothes and throw her bag over her back before she rushed through the living room and out the door of her father’s row home.

    6:48 AM

With her iPod on shuffle, Baylee ran to the beat of some random song she didn’t recognize. An instrumental played for roughly 50 seconds before the singer began “Rising up! Back on the street! Took my time! Took my chances!” The female quickly realized why she didn’t recognize the song. She hated it, and it must have ended up on her iPod after she synced it to Jessica’s computer last week. With haste and without stopping, the athlete reached onto her armband and reshuffled her iPod. Only tools listened to Survivor. In her eyes, it was almost as bad as exercising to the Rocky theme song. “I mean, who does that?”

    7:00 AM

Nobody was around. There were no cars, no trucks, nothing. Baylee had the right to cross, and opposing traffic had a red light. The young female began to cross the street when all of a sudden a blue Bugatti Veyron blasted on down the street pumping ridiculously loud music and going an excess of 50 miles per hour. What an asshole.

    7:15 AM

The school parking lot came into sight. It seemed like that Bugatti Veyron belonged to somebody that went to Alexandria High School. At first Baylee wondered who could afford such a thing. Then she saw who got out of the car. The driver was unsurprisingly Kevin Terrez, and his passenger was his best friend Garth something-or-another. She just knew that Garth dated Jessica from the hockey team. Although he wasn’t nearly as big of a toolbox as Kevin, Baylee disliked him by association. She figured that anybody who hung around that cocky, disrespectful, undisciplined thug was equally bad in their own way.

Nevertheless, Baylee continued her jog for another few yards and slowed down to a power walk. As she passed “The Prince” and his “Loyal Subjects,” she mumbled something under her breath, grunted, and looked the other way. “Really?” she wondered, “How could somebody be such an undeserving and… Urgh. I can't even.”

School was a long and lonely walk for him. Hands in his pockets, Masaru Zimmerman wasn't sure what to make of the future. No one believed him. Ever. He was that weird kid with an issue. That dumb teenager that acted as if his problems were greater than the rest of the world. So there he was. Crime fighter by night, high school student by day. All the while he was stuck trying to balance sports and popularity with an earnest desire to be left alone. He was no crime fighter, but he had responsibilities. Obligations. The young man entered the school with his head ducked, and hood on. "Hey, Mas! What up dude?" One of the burly jocks cried from across the hall. Masaru sighed, and swept his hood back. He had a black eye. Should've dodged that pole to the head a little quicker. "DAMN, WHO FUCKED YOU UP?"

"No one," Masaru lied. He sighed, and shook his head. "I'll see you around." He kept walking, hands in his jacket pockets. Masaru was good at remembering remarkable people. Riley went on that list. A genius, or so everyone called her. Whiz Kid. He smiled, nodding as he offered, "Hey, Riley Roth right? Good job on that test." He saw some girls and even guys mimicking her, and sighed. Apparently she was being bullied. "Hey, lay off. She didn't say anything to you." Masaru interrupted their fun, a pissed off expression already on his face.

The bully, Travis, leaned forward to shove him as he said, "Hey what's your problem, punk? You like 'em young?" Masaru grabbed his wrist, and his fist struck the bully's face with alarming speed. "You do not want to piss me off." Before the fight could escalate a voice interrupted them, "Mr. Zimmerman. My office. Now." The 'Oooo' shared through the crowded onlookers carried down the hall. Masaru just sighed, and shook his head, ignoring the snickering Travis who gestured 'fear' in the presence of Masaru.

Pausing, hands on his hips, the Principal's eyes narrowed as he asked, "Who else is behind this mess?"

Later, in the office, Masaru sat with his arms crossed.. an unreadable expression on his face. His eyebrows were furrowed with annoyance. "Now, I know your record, Mr. Zimmerman. You lost your parents. Friends. It's tragic.. a real shame.. but that doesn't excuse you putting your hands on another student. This is one of the top academic high schools in the nation Masaru and for good reason. We're the best. You want to be a hoodlum I know a school for you to do that in. Detention. Today. I'm letting you off easy because you're a smart kid. Good grades. You've got a nice future ahead of you. Don't mess it up."

"Yeah. Okay," said Masaru back, a frown on his face. He didn't mean to seem rebellious, he just wanted to go. Now. The Principal, Mr. Matthews, shooed him with a flailing hand. Masaru quickly walked out, hands clutching his duffel bag.

"Better not have any drugs in there!" Principal Matthews joked, his finger pointing. "I don't, sir." Masaru offered back, before exiting, muttering under his breath, "..Racist prick."

    School

Noise, noise everywhere. Irritable noise filling up the school bus, coming from multiple kids and teens. Riley was never fond of noise, she preferred silence and peace. The conditions of this bus was unacceptable? Its like the bus driver doesn't even care anymore. Everyone had someone to sit with, excluding Riley. Riley bangs were covering her eyes, her soulless eyes that had bags under them. Riley let out a yawn.

As though Riley is a morning person who enjoys the calmness of the morning she was exhausted. Recently Riley was having sleeping problems. She couldn't explain why....she just did. And considering this was her first day back to school due to the fact that Riley has been absent for a while now, the school officials got involved. And now her uncaring foster "parents" force her to go to school. Honestly just sat there, in the back of the bus sitting alone.

Despite the noise of the bus, Riley did catch something someone sitting in the seat in front of her said. And although that kid didn't say names, Riley was sure he was talking about her. Riley just sighed as he heard the kid say what he had to say to the person sitting next to him.

"Yo Tyler? How come that girl behind us is sitting all alone? And how come I never seen her around? Is she new? I am not gonna lie...she is a total babe. I might go and introduce my self."

"Introduce your self Ryan? You would have a better chance of winning the lottery. That girl doesn't speak to anyone. And doesn't like being spoken to. Anyway she is supposed to be in the 8th grade, but skipped a grade. But recently she has been frequently absent."

    "......"

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"You really think I have a chance of winning the lottery!"

"...You have the attention span of a goldfish."

"Psh...fish are smart, they are related to dolphins."

"You do realize dolphins are mammals? Right?"

    "Dolphins are mammals?"

"How did you even get in the 9th grade?"

    "I don't know. Because I am awesome?"

Suddenly the bus made a stop, and hearing this insufferable conversation gave Riley a headache. The bus soon stopped at the school. Finally! Riley quickly grabbed her backpack and got up before anyone else could get up. She quickly walked quickly towards the bus door. A few girls saw her and began whispering. Riley glanced at them, and seen a unusual smile and smirk on there face. Out of all the girls their was a familiar face...one of Riley old friends.

As Riley exited the bus, she quickly walked quickly towards the school doors. She liked being close to the door, so when the bell rang she could get to her classes immediately. Not because she liked class, but because she didn't wanna interact with anybody. As Riley was walking she didn't know what was in store for her.

Emily and her boyfriend Travis who was holding a football giggled as Travis aimed the football. He chucked it towards Riley. It got a direct shot at the back of Riley hand, Riley was sent straight towards the ground falling flat on her face. Riley quickly got up on her knees and was ready to pick her self up. But then she seen a arm. Travis arm.

    "Sorry, that was an accident."

Travis said with sarcasm. Soon Emily caught up to Travis.

"Don't apologize, its not your fault her big head takes up all the place in the school."

    "Ugh! Simpletons!"

Riley yelled, as she slapped Travis hand away and got up on her own. She stared Emily dead in the eye.

"Psh, just because you say words like simpleton doesn't make you intelligent."

    "Get out of my way!"

Riley spoke, words drenched in malice and venom. She was usually good at containing her anger, but Emily caught her on a bad day. The veins on Riley neck and forehead were popping out.

    "This."

The girl stated as she pushed Riley, but that was the final straw. Riley wasn't going to take bullshit all school year. The push made Riley stagger, but once Riley got her footing she leaped at the girl. Knocking her down. Riley attempted to choke Emily. As this was going down Travis grabbed Riley hood, and yanked it with all his strength. And Riley being a person who could be considered scrawny and light easily got pulled off of Emily. She was literally pulled up to her feet.

"Who do you think your messing with brat!"

He yelled as he pushed Riley to the ground.

    Detention

As Riley collided into the ground, the push made her slide a little. Dirtying her white hooded jacket that she wore with blue jeans and tennis shoes. Riley grunted, did this...this...buffoon just push her? Riley was not done, as she was about to stand up ready to throw down with Travis, a teen already arrived. Probably a other one of Travis friends, coming to help Travis pick on Riley. But Riley had no intention of getting beat. She would take on all of them if she had to.

    "Riley Roth, right?"

Riley didn't even answer? First of all Riley didn't have a good attendance record in school. Secondly she wasn't miss popular. She did used to have many friends...but they all grew jealous of her intelligence and turned on her. So how did this guy know her name? Riley eyes widened as she seen....that guy quickly dispose of Travis with a punch sending him staggering into a trash can. Was this some dream? Was someone actually....

    "Defending me?"

Suddenly a tall grey haired figure arrived. It was the principal, Riley heard him address the guy as "Masaru".

"What a unusual name....well unusual for me....never heard it before."

Principal Warden told Masaru to go to the office.

"Who else is behind this mess?"

As Riley was about to speak out, she was quickly interrupted by Emily.

"Principal Warden! Riley attacked me when I asked it what was wrong! She tried to choke me! Travis tried to pull her off of me, but then that big bully came up and attacked Travis for no reason!"

    "Wh..what? She's lying!"

Riley stated as she picked her self up to get back on her feet. Though the principal looked unconvinced.

"Hmm..who is telling the truth? The start student Emily? Or the delinquent or has been missing school. Miss. Roth, I would suspend you, but you have missed far to much days already. You will go to ISS and remain in ISS until after school where you will have to attend detention. Got it?"

    "B-but!"

"My decision is final Miss. Roth!"

Riley just remained silent, as she just sighed in frustration. As she walked down with her shoulders slumped she turned towards Masaru.

    "Thanks."

She said dryly, honestly Riley knew how thick headed and stubborn the principal could get. And even if she did explain the situation, he would not believe her.

"So much for the wisdom of adults."

    "What was that?"

"I don't feel like repeating my self."

Riley spoke as she opened the door and entered the school. And headed towards room 501 if she remembered correctly, that's where in school suspension takes place. Unbelievable? How could the principal be so obtuse? And so rash at making this decision. He certainly didn't hold back? ISS and after school detention just for a event that he has no knowledge about occurred.

Kevin abandoned his friend in exchange for stalking the blonde. "Hey there, I couldn't help but notice you looking at me looking at you." Kevin said with a grin, his hands digging into his pockets. He had that cocky grin present as he arched an eyebrow and said, "I know, I know. You've got to be wondering.. why is someone as attractive, smooth, and .. well, y'know, RICH.. talking to me. Well, I'll tell you. You need me in your life. No, really. I can see it.. I'll make your life so much better."

Kevin was walking backwards as everyone watched in horror. Garth made the 'STOP IT NOW' warning gesture, but, of course.. Kevin being Kevin.. he kept going. "My friend seems to have something stuck in his throat. Envy, maybe? Who knows. Anyway.. what say you, me, a date..? I'll provide the cash if you'll provide the as-" Before Kevin could finish he bumped into an enormous kid with a murderous aura.

Kevin slowly wheeled around and looked at the behemoth of a student.. whose hands were closing and opening in an apparently intense desire to wring his neck. "Uh, hm. If you could just..." Kevin placed his hands on the huge guy's arms, slowly moving him to the side. "..Get out of the way. There, that's better." Kevin turned back to Baylee. "Now, where was I?"

Eric kicked Kevin into Baylee before he could continued, the student screaming in an almost insane manner. "You killed my brother!" "Wha? No. I'm the other Kevin. Rich, handsome, talented, multi billionaire? You're looking for Kevin Mackey. Weird kid? Breathes heavily..? He's probably behind the school doing weird shit like eating lizards or whatever in the fuck he does." Kevin's rambling was cut short when he was punched in the face. "...OW. BITCH!"

Kevin punched him in the jaw, and sighed when it.. well.. didn't work. "MAN YOU KILLED MY BROTHER!" The giant repeated, booting Kevin's chest while grabbing his shirt, ripping it. "Ngh!" Kevin crashed into the hood of a car, legs popping out from underneath him. "What the fuck, man?! I don't even know your brother you ugly ass oaf! If he's anything like you they probably put him down cos of rabies!"

Kevin was wincing and holding his side. Mockery and insults aside.. this guy had lost his damned mind! Kevin was wondering how he was going to get out of this in one piece when the massive line backer started charging at him again.

"You, you, and you! Detention!" The Principal blurted. Kevin groaned, Eric was still seething, and Baylee was.. innocent?

Baylee sighed as Kevin approached. He began with some pickup line but ended up talking more about himself than complimenting Baylee. The young athlete wondered how somebody could be so cocky and smug. She wished she could knock that toothy grin right off his face and was about to if he didn’t backpedal into some enormous guy with anger issues. She wanted to say something. In fact, she was seething in anger. “How could this toolbox objectify me like that? Who does he think I am? I’m not just some piece of meat that he can buy dinner for and expect sex later. That son of a-“

Nevertheless, Baylee kept calm and watched what happened next. Kevin began making excuses about something – clearly he was afraid of this guy. When that didn’t work, he socked him right in the jaw. Instead of, well, anything, the burly man didn’t budge. Instead, he got even angrier, lifted Kevin by his shirt, and flung him into the hood of some kid’s car.

Baylee recognized this kid from somewhere. She wondered if he was on the football team or something because she was sure she’d seen him at a game once or twice. She also wondered what Kevin did get on his bad side. After all, she figured that it wasn’t everyday that somebody in excess of 200 lbs came up and started throwing you into cars.

The female couldn’t help but laugh. Just a few minutes earlier, that smug little tool was hitting on her and now he was getting what he deserved. She didn’t even have to do it herself!

“Ah, karma.” Baylee singed as she began to turn away and continue her day.

Of course, her day would have gone a lot smoother if she didn’t turn around and bump into Principal Matthews who looked down at her with a stern glare. Apparently he thought that she was somehow involved in this hilariously random affair.

“You, you, and you! Detention!” He blurted.

“But I didn’t even-!” Baylee yelled in defiance.

“Do you want another?” He threatened.

Baylee snapped “Fuck you. I didn’t even-”

“Three detentions!” He cut her off.

“You son of a-” She shut her mouth before she made things even worse. After all, this wouldn’t be the first time she racked up consecutive detentions for telling off a teacher. Baylee remembered one time when her English teacher gave her an essay to write the night of state championships. First she defied him and then she cursed at him. Then she cursed at him some more when he gave her a detention. It became a vicious cycle that resulted in about three or four detentions. To her, they all started to blur together after awhile.

Fortunately, the young woman was smart enough not to make the same mistake twi- Erm. Four times.

    Awkward Aiden

In the midst of a dark room dimly lit by the sunrays from the outside, the only thing that could be heard was the calm and rhythmic breathing of a sixteen-year-old guy with messy, shoulder-lenght black hair. An arm hanged outside the single-size bed and a transparent trail of saliva had been drawn on his face overnight. But, of course, that calm wouldn't last long, for the most annoying sound in the whole galaxy was about to go off: the clock's alarm.

The sound filled the room, breaking the serenity that just seconds ago ruled there. With a groan of complaint, the arm that once hanged now lazily raised in the air, landing in the clock accurately. Just five minutes more...Well, maybe ten. Or half an hour. Wait, how about the whole day?

"Aiden!!", a femenine voice called out, his mother's. How could she be awake at this demonic hour? "Get out and have breakfast!!"

How about...No. He won't get out of those blankets. But the food...Oh food, my secret lover., Aiden licked his lip as he thought of breakfast. His mother did know how to pull him off bed. He slowly peeled himself off the blankets into the stillness of his room. Messy, indeed, and that was how it worked for him. He flickd the light's switch on and, after his eyes got used to the new settings, he changed into a green long-sleeve t-shirt with 'Status: Off' written in black. He added a pair of baggy jeans, socks and leather boots, a white beanie and thick-framed glasses. His final touch was a black jacket full of zippers.

As he exited his room, and turned the lights off on the way, he entered the living room/kitchen/dining room, or as Aiden called it, the 'Main Room'. His mother was stuffing a toast in her mouth and drinking coffee. She was really late, but he got time. "Good morning, sweaty. Now that I know you're up," she said as she collected stuff on her way to the door, "and won't oversleep, I can go. No time to explain. Make breakfast. Go to school. And for the sake of the world, Don't...Stare...At people.", She sighed as her speech was finished.

"Okay, Mom. Love you.", His mother planted a kiss on his forehead and dashed to the outside world. He stood in his place until he realised he was hungry and moved on with his life.

After a bowl of cereal with a lot of maple syrup and sugar, Aiden grabbed his messenger bag and passed the strap over his head, so it was hanging from his shoulder. He grabbed his keys and and left. Nothing interesting happened on his way to school, for Aiden's disappointment.

Hmm...Who would have thought? I got to school without noticing...My legs moved by themselves. Now that was an interesting concept, and it was worth of being written in the Facts Of The Universe List, a list where Aiden wrote the greatest secrets of mankind, such as History classes cause sleep, and PE teachers are fat stood solemnly. It wasn't the discovery of gravity, of course, but perphaps he could write a book about them, and that book could make him famous. Or the ruler of the world.

"Ow.", Aiden weakly complaint, his face unchanged, as he bumped into someone near the stairs of the second floor. Wait, how did he get to the second floor? I really need to stop walking on auto-pilot. He thought as a large figure landed on the first floor, the one Aiden bumped into. He lazily climbed down the stairs, and just as if it wasn't enough that one person fell off the stairs, Aiden stepped on one of his shoelaces and fell, his body going straight to the now visible History teacher, who was still on the floor but watching Aiden in utter horror. He landed on top of her, and Aiden's face and hands ended up in the teacher's...attributes. "Hmmm...Ms. Grace, do all teacher's attributes feel like that?"

"Mr. Adams...", the Principal, with his face red with contained rage, started. Aiden was sitting in his office, along with the History teacher, who peeped at him with the corner of her eye. "How...?"

"I was in auto-pilot.", the student excused himself. The Principal raised an eyebrow, his face reddened a little bit more.

"Just...Detention, whole week. And get out of my office." Aiden stood up and stared at the teacher, who frowned.

"If it makes you feel any better, miss, your attributes..."

"GET OUT, ADAMS!!", The Principal roared, and Aiden dashed his way out of the office.

Masaru was bored out of his mind through the rest of the school day. Class work came easy to him, but he could care less about that type of success. He finished his test early, his score decent enough or so he figured. Masaru leaned backwards and faced the ceiling, and soon he tucked his arms behind his head in a lazily folded fashion. They were hooded from his far off thoughts. In the background he heard some classmates whispering about his darkened eye. Masaru just scowled, and ignored them. This wouldn't be the first time his hectic lifestyle was questioned. Most people didn't know what to think of him. Drug dealer? Street fighter? Thug? Thief? Abusive home? The assumptions flew left and right, but all of them were equal in missing the mark.

Then the bell rang Masaru was the first out out of the door as he rushed to his next class. He was anxious to get him. Dwayne would question him, sure, as he always did.. but Masaru finally felt like he had a lead. No need for getting the cops involved. He'd handle it like he handled everything else. Alone. As he walked up to his locker Masaru spotted a quiet kid speaking to himself. He opened his mouth to maybe question him.. but decided against it. Who needed friends? Slam. The locker door was smoothly shut and off he went.

A few members of the football team surrounded Masaru when lunch finally rolled around. They were pestering him about getting detention and how that would mess up the football team. He flailed it off, muttering that he'd handle it, before taking some quick bites out of his sandwich and practically sprinting off. He needed some air. To be alone.. to think... and it was such a nice and chilly day that the breeze would help him relax. He always had trouble relaxing. The thoughts.. the memories.. flashbacks. He figured they'd end after a year or two. Somehow, though, the faces of his loved ones dying.. it never went away.

By the end of the day Masaru was quick to enter detention. He wanted to get it over with. He sat alone, arms crossed, and looked out of the window. It was embarrassing.. the 'hometown hero' in detention. So much for being a 'good person' or 'role model'. He tried, though.. he really did. Masaru's arms slumped, as he wondered just how far he was taking this hero thing. Perhaps he really was going too far... What if he died? It's not like heroes really existed, right?

Looking out of the window, he watched kids heading home. Some getting on the bus, others laughing and pushing each other. Boyfriends and girlfriends hugging. Wild and carefree youths scrambling into their cars. He smiled wistfully at the time he lost. It wasn't too late to turn back, was it..? Maybe he could be a normal kid? Maybe he could unleash the stick from his ass.. and enjoy having friends.. doing these the other kids his age did. Maybe...?

The image of a pitch black face with a pearl white jagged toothed smile filled his hopeful mind.

    ...Maybe not.
