Name: Skylar Comacoda
Special field of study: Music (Playing instruments, writing it, performing)
Background: Skylar was the youngest of three in his family and growing up he was always trapped in his siblings shadows. His brother, the older of the three, had always excelled in sports. He was always leading his teams to victory, and the more he won, the more Skylar became forgotten by his parents. If that didn't belittle Skylar enough, his sister excelled intellectually out of the three. She was always number one in her class, and constantly making Skylar and their brother look stupid. His parents always ignored him, no matter what Skylar did he couldn't get attention from them, unless he was getting negative reinforcement about something. The something could be anything from not getting good grades or not getting on a team at school. It had always lead Skylar to be anti-social and slightly depressed. At a young age, around the time he was in second grade, Skylar would wonder around the school after class, because he didn't want to go home to his parents. As Skylar was wondering around one day he had stumbled into an empty music room, instruments laying around and no teacher in sight. Sitting in front of a grand piano, Skylar looked at the ivory keys, as he began to randomly press them, listening to the sound coming out. What felt like moments had passed of him playing the piano, but in reality it had been around an hour and a half. A teacher finally interrupted him, telling him that his parents had been looking for him like an hour before hand. Being stranded at the school for the time being, Skylar continue to lose himself in the music, when the teacher yet again interrupted, giving Skylar another instrument. Skylar started playing that instrument, and was able to play all the instruments the teacher gave him. Skylar finally realized it was getting dark, and went to walk home, but before he could leave the teacher gave him an acoustic guitar as a gift.
After Skylar finally approached his house he saw blue and red flashing lights, cop cars sitting out front with his parents, Skylar approached slowly. Not knowing why they were there Skylar was cautious, until he overheard his parents talking about how they couldn't find him. Once he got to the front door his parents pulled him inside and the cops left. As Skylar stood their the guitar on his back, and his sight fixed on his shoes. He had to stay there as his parents yelled and yelled. He finally got his attention from them, but it was the bad attention that he always got. His siblings sat there watching and laughing at him under their breathe. After his punishment was stated, Skylar went to his room. It was here that Skylar sat playing the guitar he was given and he began to write down words, that would sound good together, the lyrics by which he would live.
It became natural to Skylar that he could play any instrument, but was usually found with a guitar in his hands. He was constantly writing down lyrics, and singing songs he had learned. His need for attention from his parents had vanished as he lost himself in a world of music, a world of lyrics. Skylar had began to get recognized but he never knew it. He had ignored his parents and started performing for small shows. He had played several weddings, a few school dances, and a couple acoustic concerts for his own name. His parents finally knew he was their but couldn't talk to him, because he was always busy. Skylar had become the most known in his family, having fans and people that know his music, he didn't just excel at something, he was on his way to make it, and even better right when he started getting big, he was invited to Laxentry Academy. It was the perfect timing, and Skylar didn't hesitate to take the invitation.
Personality: Skylar has come to living for the music. He is always usually always smiling, wearing a mask hiding his real feelings. Since Skylar started playing music, he had become a popular kid in his last school. So Skylar likes having people around him at all time, surrounding himself with people is Skylar's way of getting the attention he has always desired. Even after his parents started to try to give him attention they never made the effort. They would tell him good job as he walked by and would get him stuff, but they never went to any of his shows or performances. So Skylar has an attention complex. If Skylar doesn't get the attention he needs to drive his complex, he becomes very depressive and forgotten, sinking back into his introverted shell from before he started playing music. It is extremely difficult for Skylar to pull himself out of his depressive state, so without friends Skylar just falls deeper into depression, and when this happens his music becomes darker and darker, until he is too depressed to even play music.
When Skylar isn't depressed he is always smiling and hanging out with people, playing music for his friends, and just having a good time. Skylar adores his friends more than he ever adored his family, so he will try to do what ever he can to help his friends. He isn't afraid of many things, except being alone, or ignored. He isn't very confident with the opposite gender, except after he has performed. After a performance Skylar is in the best mood of his life, and it's a huge confidence booster for him.
