Basic Plot~
In the tallest tower in the highest room there is a princess. Every nigth and everyday since she was fifteen the princess would wait for her hero. Though many valiant knights came all were destroyed by a dragon that guarded the highest room of the tower. Eventually the princess got tired of waiting for a hero. So, she became her own. The princess tried to escape time and time again. Every time the dragon would catch her, and then return her to her room. With every attempts the dragon began to know the princess more. Eventually he found he had fallen in love.

I was thinking your character could be cursed by a witch ( which is why he is a dragon). Also he could (after rescuing the princess sneak away to this witch and beg for the curse to be lifted. She would decided to make a deal with him. If he can get the egg of the last true dragon from the forbidden cave of Hesthin (a neibohoring kingdom) she will lift the curse.

Joesifene is the daughter of the king and queen of Kota. Joesifene's mother died when Joesifene was very young. As Joesifene grew she looked more and more like her mother. Her father still hurting over the death couldn't stand looking at her. He sent her away, and locked her in a tower. The tower had a dragon in it as well. Joesifene's father hoped that this would keep Joesifene from ever leaving the tower. Joesifene's father ended up re-marrying, and having a son named Jonathan. Joesifene's father never told Jonathan about his half sister. In the end knights heard about this sad story. They rushed to Joesifene's tower to save her, and possibly take her as their wife. None of them succeeding at killing the dragon Joesifene I the past couple of months has tried various ways of escape herself.
