(OOC) The Sky Sails Chronicles: Chapter 1

Well boy, you really want to go beyond this little island? Sail far away? Yet you've not even the slightest clue of the dangers of the open skies. You think I lost my arm to the breeze boy? Ha! You wouldn't last a day on an airship. She'd chew you up and use your bones to pick her teeth. The winds'll whip your skin form your bones, and that's not even to mention the beasts that call the open skies home. Still convinced? No? Well you should be, it's the best damn way a boy can become a man. The skies'll show you things you could only dream of. You want to live, kid? That's the only way to do it. Come on boy, I'll show you my boat; I'll show you the skies.

Aeria:
The Land Aeria, as it is called, is a large collection of floating islands. Each has a diverse environment that varies from evergreen forests to deserts, though a lot of the smaller islands are rolling green hills. They are named primarily in clusters, instead of by individuals. Transport between islands is by wooden airships, powered by magic anomalies which the people of magic "properly" called Potestas Singularities or Potestas Gears, which are large blue sphere's of infinite magic, but sailors just call it the "Gear".

(Here is the map, on which I will actively put new markers, i.e. important cities, and landmarks, as we move forward and explore.)

The Airships of Aeria:
The Gear which operates the ship works by channeling magic into the sails to allow them to be lifted by the wind. This is done through a series of enchantments, so it is common to have magic wielders as part of the permanent crew of the ship. It's often said that Airship crews are all stronger and more capable warriors than any army, because of the many treachers of the open skies. Here are a few of the major role on a ship:

• Captain- Leader, and supreme authority of the ship.
• Quartermaster- Record keeper, crew rep, and peacemaker.
• Sailingmaster- Navigator and Sailor of the ship.
• Gearmaster- Overlooks the "Gear", and all bound enchantments. (magic user)
• Master Gunner- Responsible for the ship's ammunition, and cannons and ordinance. (Magical and non)
• Mate(s)- Apprentices to any of the above roles.
• A.B.S.- Able bodied sailors. Ship's backbone who know a little of any discipline of the ship.

Races:

• Humans- Moderate height and weight with widely variable hair and eye colors.
• Tenbrez- Moderate height and weight. They can have gold, hazel or blue eyes. Hair is between jet black and a very dark blue. Skin color can vary the same as their hair color with a human pink skin tone on the inside of the eye lids, lips and nail quick.
• Bijeren- What any animal hybrid race is called, and there are in eight sub-races. All of which are naturally stronger and faster than the other races. The level of anthropomorphic features range from very humanoid to very bestial.
  
  • Lupiz- Wolf-like humanoid. Eye and hair varies just as wolves do.
  • Lezer- A desert reptilian humanoid. Scaled, strong lizard-like men. Eye and scale color varies just as actual reptiles.
  • Alati- A bird-like humanoid. All are either black, brown, white, or a combination. Feather tips can vary between any color. This race doesn't have a beak, in it's place is a usual mouth and a nose that can vary from flat against the face to long and curved to very average. Eye color varies widely.
  • Squalus- A shark-like humaniod. Skin varies from white, to blues and violets. Eye always black, and teeth are razor-sharp.
  • Musca- An insect-like humaiod, closely resembling a dragon fly. Tall and slim, with strong iridescent scales, and fragile insect-like wings
• Lucelen- Beautiful human like people. In the middle of their forehead is a gem, which varies in all colors. Eye color matches the gem.
• Valen- Neighboring to the Lucelen, they are four armed beasts of men. It is common for them to not have any hair.

Like, do we get to pick which ones to use? Or do we have to roll a die or do something online?
