Dragon Ball Z: A New Generation of Saiyans

Inside a house in the middle of West City, soft snoring could be heard coming from the bedroom of a young adult boy. Inside, the young adult snoozed peacefully on top of his bed, having not bothered to get under the sheets or undressed aside from his Capsule Corp jacket from the night before. It was mid-afternoon on a hot summer day and Trunks slept right through it in the building that was Capsule Corp. Serving as both a home and the main business building, Capsule Corp. is an industry specializing in creating tiny capsules that held anything inside of them from boats to a picnic, all that needed to be done was to press a small button on top of the capsule and "POM!", instant jet boat!

The capsules, also known as DynoCaps were invented by his grandfather Dr. Briefs, a man very ahead of his time who had also passed away a few years ago from old age. The death of his grandfather was very hard on Trunks, he wasn't used to having people die for good but it was the old man's wish to not be revived by the Dragon Balls. The dragon balls were seven separate crystalline spheres that when once gathered together had the ability to summon a magical dragon that would grant any wish.

"I'm much too old to be brought back by them." He had told Trunks one evening as the subject had come up. "By the time I'm wished back I'll just die again! No, it is time for you to become a man and take over the business Trunks, and by the time I'm gone you will know everything there is to know about Capsule Corp." That was nearly six years ago, and true to his grandfather's word he stuck around for the next two years, teaching Trunks to become the ideal business man and President of the family company. He remained the president for a good two years before the job really got to him and he outright quit. He made sure to leave the company in good hands and had since been training with his father to become an even more powerful warrior.

Trunks stirred uncomfortably in his sleep as a loud, explosion-like noise came from outside. He lifted his eyelids open ever so sleepily and sat up in bed, wondering what that noise was that caused him to wake up. "Is mom working on that time machine again?" He groaned, running his nimble fingers through his mess of purple hair. There was another deafening boom, and this time out of the corner of his eye he saw a bright flash of light coming in through his window, followed by a series of innocent screams. Trunks jumped off his bed and ran to his window, prying open the glass and stuck his head out. He didn't need to look hard to see the up-swinging mushroom cloud erupting from a cluster of large buildings a couple miles away.

Any shred of fatigue was wiped clean away by a rush of adrenaline and his jaw nearly dropped to the floor as he suddenly sensed two extremely high power levels coming from the area of the explosion. "No way!" He said breathlessly to himself. "Those power levels are both equal to that of Majin Buu's, but we defeated him fourteen years ago…he can't be back can he?" Glad for the fact that he was already dressed in a black tank top and his dark lose pants, he slipped out of his bedroom window and took off in flight towards the explosion. He didn't have any time to tell any of his friends about the danger, innocent people were in trouble and he had to try and stop whatever it was that was attacking them.

It only took a few minutes for him to reach the bulk of the attack. He landed softly on his feet in the middle of the crumbling street and watched as a thirty-story building crashed down to the ground as if it were made of wet paper. People were still running around screaming in terror, trying to get away from the area as quickly as possible. He looked around wildly, searching desperately for those two higher power levels and put an end to this destruction. He focused hard and was able to pin-point one of the high power levels in a building to his left. He took two steps towards the building before there was another earth-shattering explosion and chunks of the building flew straight at Trunks, forcing him to shield his eyes with his arms. Thankfully the bits of flying rubble weren't enough to hurt him, but the amount of dust accumulating in the air was making it extremely difficult to see.

Trunks had to blink a couple times before he was able to make out a shadow through the dust. He kept his arms in front of him in a defensive position but slightly lower so he could see the figure coming through the smoke and straight towards him. Trunks knew this figure to be the source of the power level he had found before and braced himself for what was going to walk out of the debris.

"Looking for me?" A man's voice said, slicing through the air over the screams. He wasn't shouting, but every fiber of Trunk's had been tuned into him that he couldn't hear anything else. The figure stepped closer and out of the dust to reveal a man, no older than him dressed in clothing that he knew for a fact wasn't from Earth. His face and body looked human enough, and like Trunks he had purple hair, though a bit darker than his and tied up in a pony-tail. His arms were crossed over his broad chest and he wore a smug look on his face that reminded him so much of his father, Vegeta.

He was wearing what looked like a very tight, black leather vest, decorated with silver studs around the open arms and up his chest and small pockets on the shoulders for four or five separate thin objects, like a knife. Taking a closer look, Trunks wondered how he even got into the vest on the first place; it looked as if someone had just painted liquid latex on his body and called it good. There were no seams, no breaks from what he could see from where he could take the shirt off or put it on. it also had a collar on it which covered up half his neck and though there were no attached sleeves, at the elbow all the way down to the palm of his hand the same leather-like material continued on, molding to his body perfectly just as the vest did. The pants were the same, black, tight and in Trunk's opinion, painted on.

Trunks grit his teeth, trying his best to suppress his own power level. If this man could read power levels, he didn't want him knowing that he could pose as a potential threat. "Why are you doing this? Leave these people alone!" Trunks threatened, moving his arms from their defensive position to his fighting stance. The man chuckled, obviously unimpressed by Trunks' actions.

"Well aren't you a brave little human? Why don't you cower in fear like the rest of your people?" The man said, flipping the end of his pony tail around his shoulder making it quite obvious that he was bored. Before he even gave Trunks a chance to reply, he added quite tiredly,

"You have an alien living among yourselves, a Saiyan by the name of Kakarot. Hand him over now and we will leave your planet in one piece." He threatened. The strange man had said human, which only meant that he was an alien. Little did he know though, that Trunks was an alien as well, a Saiyan in fact, just like Kakarot, who went by the name Goku. Goku was sent to Earth when he was just a baby from his home planet Vegeta, and though he was sent to destroy it, he grew up loving the Earth and grew up protecting it from alien threats.

"Goku would never surrender to the likes of you!" Trunks replied bravely, using Goku's Earth name on purpose. He, along with all of his other friends, were growing quite irritated that every alien that came to Earth still referred to him by his Saiyan name.

The man laughed, intrigued by his bravado. "Then you shall die!" He shouted and raised the palm of his hand up, balancing an orb of light blue energy on his hand, using his own energy to make the ball grow. He then hurled it, much like a baseball, as hard as he could towards Trunks, expecting the ball of energy to incinerate him. Trunks watched the hurling ball of blue energy come towards him and smirked. In a split second he raised his power level and deflected the ball into an already collapsed building. Shock covered the alien's face as he felt Trunks' power level rising.

"What? How did you do that?" He demanded but Trunks didn't let a second go to waste. The second he deflected the energy blast, he rushed towards the man as fast as he could, landing his fist right in the center of his chest, pushing into his rib cage. The alien was still overcome by shock his body wasn't sure how to react to the blow and gave out a confused, gurgling noise. From the force of the impact, Trunks was forced to jump back a couple feet, giving the alien enough time to recuperate.

"You little punk!" He hissed and jumped a good twenty feet in the air, hovering above Trunks with his palms spread open towards him. Trunks looked up at him with a confident look on his face, he knew that this guy's power level was high, what he didn't know was how he used it and he was ready to find out. Hopefully news would have reached his friends by now and they were on their way, after all, the other power level he sensed wasn't accounted for yet. The alien's eyes glowered down at Trunks, an orange ball of energy gathering in between his palms that was growing bigger and bigger until it was the size of a small car. His eyes darted from Trunks to a building that hadn't been destroyed yet, which made Trunks take a look at the building and his heart sank. It was a local orphanage and he could sense that not everyone was out of there just yet.

"Let's see how you like this!" The alien yelled and hurled the orange ball of energy towards the building.

"No!" Trunks had just enough time to jump into the air and put himself between the orange energy blast and the building. He tried blocking it by crossing his arms in an 'X' position but the energy ball proved to be too much to block. Both the energy blast and Trunks flew into the side of the building, crashing through the wall and through the next. As he was trying to stop the blast from exploding inside of the building, he heard a second voice addressing the alien. A female voice.

"Deon! Enough! We have our orders, we can't be wasting time on worms like him." Trunks managed to dig his feet into the ground and tried to push against the energy ball to send it back out the building. He was able to look past the pressing ball of energy for a split second to see the second person who Trunks was able to tell owned the second higher power level he sensed earlier. She was a girl all right, standing between the alien and himself with her back to him. She had the same hair color as her partner, who he was able to gather was called Deon. He tried to get a closer look at her but the ball of energy collapsed on itself and sent out an blast in his face and the building, leveling it within seconds. Trunks cried out in pain as he felt the burn sear off his clothes and parts of his skin. His body took most of the blast, shielding anyone in the rooms behind him from most of the damage, but he could tell by the diminishing power levels he hadn't saved everyone.

His vision went black and he could feel a hard surface beneath him. He had fallen back onto the cold, hard floor and was close to blacking out. He turned his head, hearing the pitiful screams of even more people but his ears were ringing too loudly for him to make anything out. His vision came back for a split second, confirming in his own mind that he was indeed on his back on the ground. A face came into his view and saw a blurry outline of Deon. He was saying something to him, but Trunks couldn't hear it and his vision went black again.

Trunks was able to regain himself just a minute or two later. He tenderly got back up onto his feet and looked around at the damage. All around him was debris from the wreckage and a couple bodies, none of which he could sense any life. He gripped his right shoulder, feeling it throb in pain and grimaced. He hadn't taken a beating like that for a couple years now and he knew then that he wasn't as strong as he used to be. He searched the area from where he was standing for any sign of Deon or that woman that was with him, but found nothing.

"Damn, gone." He said through gritted teeth. He tried focusing his energy to find their power levels, but he was too injured. He took a couple steps, dragging his feet over the broken stone and bricks wondering what his next course of action should be. He knew he should get home and take care of himself, but he felt responsible for all the destruction here; he just had to do something. Just then, he felt something, a sign of life, someone close by was still alive! He turned his body and followed the power level until he came to a pile of rubble. He pushed all his body's pain aside and started digging through the pile of rocks until he found another woman looking just as badly injured as he did and unconscious. Her hair was pale blue and she had soft, delicate skin, though it was hard to tell from all the dirt and blood covering her body.

Trunks gently pulled her from the rest of the debris and picked her up in his arms, trying as best as he could to ignore the pain in his arms and chest from the added weight. He had to push through this, he had to save at least one person today. With what remaining energy he had, he lifted himself off the ground and glided slowly back to his home to get the medical attention they both so desperately needed.

Barren Wasteland, east of Capital City.

A bright blue light flashed as the man was thrown into a rockformation, destroying it with his impact. The man climbed to his feet and looked around, his head hurt, a lot. He couldn't really focus enough to sense powerlevels. However, the headache didn't subside, but instead just kept getting worse. He held his hands around his head, his fingers pressed against his skull as he fell down onto one knee and cried out in pain as his Ki lit up in an aura, knocking debris and dirt all around. He shouted as his hair turned blonde and sparks flew for nothing more but a few seconds before the headache died down and he collapsed down onto his hands against the ground. As he looked around, a crater had been formed around him, sweat dripping from him and he was wounded, blood leaking from his face and from his body, his Saiyan armor was all but destroyed, only pieces of the chest plate was still on him.

Yet, despite his beatings, his power-level was still going strong.

    ***

    Outer realms of Earth's Atmosphere.

The strongest of all Saiyans. The Most powerful being in the universe. The greatest warrior in history.

Prince Vegeta was floating in the outer realms of the gravitational field of the planet, just relaxing, thinking. Looking at the meteorites and the planets around. For a split second, he felt the power-levels fighting his son ,but just as he was about to engage, they vanished, he couldn't find them, instead, he felt another power, further away from where his offspring had been doing combat. A force he hadn't ever felt before, a strong power-level. His eyes shot open as the aura of blue surrounded him and he darted off, leaving a blue trail behind in the sky as dashed to the barren wasteland.

He landed with a gentle tap before the hunched down boy. Vegeta looked at the other man up and down, not quite sure what to make off him. He wore what Vegeta figured was the Planet Trade Organization's armor, even if it was broken.

Vegeta walked over to him, standing just a few meters in front of him as he spoke. " Who are you?" He asked.

The younger boy looked up at him with a empty look " I.. Don't.. Know.." He said. Vegeta Scoffed. " What do you mean you don't know?" He asked.

Raddock looked up at Vegeta, and his head begun hurting again. He saw a flash of the man before him snapping the neck of a man with long-black hair and facial scars, a human, even if he couldn't remember his name, he must've been disappointing. Raddock let out a yell as he charged at the shorter man. Raddock lunged a punch towards Vegeta, Vegeta blocking it with ease, cupping Raddock's fist in his own palm, pressing onto his hand.

" That one just seems hostile." Vegeta said as he smirked and delivered a kick to Raddock's chest, sending the younger one flying across the wasteland, skidding on the ground, he rolled to the side, and crawled up onto his knees, where he vomited blood.

Vegeta appeared on the side of him, and kicked him in the ribs, kicking him into the air, as Raddock was air-bound, Vegeta grabbed a rock from the ground and threw it at Raddock, the rock breaking as it hit Raddock hard.

Raddock thumbled on the ground, but managed to crawl up onto his knees. " You little.." He groaned. He yet out a roar as ki formed around him and he became his Super Saiyan form.

Vegeta looked surprised. " You're a saiyan, huh?" Vegeta asked as he too turned Super Saiyan.

" Now, I can keep kicking your ass, or you can tell me who the hell you are. This is my planet, and I'm gonna protect it." Vegeta said to the younger Saiyan whom looked surprised at him. " Your planet?.." He asked as he reverted back to normal state as he passed out.

Vegeta scoffed and reverted too, as he picked the bigger Saiyan up and met up with his son.

Trunks held the girl in his arms, he was a tad surprised when he found Vegeta carrying a boy Trunks's age on his back. " You all right son?" Vegeta asked, Trunks nodded " Yeah.. A little beaten.. This one needs medical attention.. I'll take her to mom."

" I'll take this one too. He's a Saiyan, apparently."

Bulma could be found hard at work in Capsule Corps basement, which over the years had been converted in a very high-end state-of-the-art type of lab where Bulma worked on nearly all of her projects. As usual, Bulma was nose-deep in a project with a screwdriver in one hand and a manual in the other, occasionally glancing up from the array of assorted ‘junk’ in front of her to the computer screen that beeped at her once in a while. She looked up though, when Trunks had entered the room and her face grew serious.

“Trunks, you really ought to be careful where you and your father train. I think you guys got a little too close to the city this time, I heard some explosions, is everyone okay?” She asked with a frown, noting his beat-up appearance before her eyes glanced upon the girl he was carrying. “Oh God, you didn’t kill anyone did you?” She said now suddenly looking very worried. “Look, I already told you that I’m modifying the Dragon Radar, it won’t be ready for another couple of days so you’re just going to have to wait to wish everyone back to life.” She said going from a panicked state to a somewhat scolding state.

It was then that the blue-haired girl let out a soft groan and moved her head to the side in Trunks’ arms, though still remained unconscious. Bulma’s eyes went wide as she looked from her son to the girl before looking at Vegeta who had just entered the room with yet another body.

“Just what is going on here?” She asked, unable to even begin to comprehend why her son and husband were carrying bodies as casually as if it were a normal occurrence.

“If this is some new kind of training I don’t like it!”

If there were any regrets Tien had about these new cybernetic implants, they would be the monthly visits to Capsule Corp he had to make in order to have his cybernetics tuned up. He sat on one table while Bulma's assistant fed several different wires into his exposed arms, linking into a large computer that analysed every facet of his new cyborg body.

It was a dull, lengthy process. Taking up valuable time that could be spent training and getting stronger. Still, he had been warned of the dangers of not maintaining these parts, how his body might fail on him when he needed it most. And if that were to happen, then what would have been the point of getting the implants?

"Let's see...Ki reactor is pumping out energy at peak efficiency...." Bulma's assistant murmured, checking the readings on the computer. "And the bionics in your muscles are working at roughly 97% of their full power. Nothing that needs calibration."

An exasperated sigh left Tien's lips at just how long this was taking, and he sunk back against the wall. Chiaotzu sat on one chair in the lap, lazily eating a hot fudge sundae and kicking his feet lazily in the air. Normally Bulma would have a fit if someone ate food in the lab, but since the eternally young boy was a powerful telekinetic there was no fear of him dropping food anywhere.

"And that's all we need to worry about, you're good for another month Tien!" the Doctor said after a few more minutes passed. "Can I interest you in some dinner? Mrs. Briefs has extended the offer, and with all the Saiyans here, there's usually plenty of food."

Tien stood up, slowly pulling his orange gi top on once the wires were removed from his arms "No thanks Doctor. I already accepted an offer to eat at Kame House tonight." he said. He tied his purple sash around his waist and then beckoned for Chiaotzu to follow him "Thanks again Doctor." he slipped his drab brown cloak on, and then advanced to the doors that slid open upon his approach.

He stepped out, quite surprised to see Vegeta and Trunks carrying two unconscious beings around with them. "Well...That's something." the triclops remarked dryly.

Chiaotzu ate another spoonful of sundae.

Trunks grunted as he gently placed the woman in his arms onto a table. He grunted as his father approached after leaving for the medic bay. He had put the beaten Saiyan into one of the healing pods. He threw a Senzu bean to his son, Trunks caught it and ate it, his wounds healing instantly. "T-Thanks.." Trunks began as Vegeta scoffed lightly. " Why didn't you give one to that other guy, instead of tossing him in the healing chamber?" He asked as Vegeta smirked. " He's a Saiyan. Unlike Kakarot I don't enjoy releasing potential mass-murderers onto the planet when it can be avoided." Vegeta explained as Trunks nodded.

" Well.. I think there's already plenty of those.." He said as he began to explain what had happened in the city and how he had gotten ambushed by forces stronger than anything he had faced in quite a while. " So.. Where did they vanish off to?" He asked, itching to test his hand against them. Trunks sighed " I don't know, father." Vegeta waved his son off as he headed towards the gravity chamber, passing Tien. " Sup' Baldie" Vegeta taunted lightly while smirking at the cyborg.

Trunks handed the woman a Senzu bean, hoping it would cure her wounds.

Raddock was still knocked out cold, but the chamber that was inspired by that of the Plant Trade Organization, built on Vegeta's orders, he never did enjoy using the Senzu Beans was healing his wounds. The fluid inside of it felt soothing, it put his tense body at ease, relaxing his muscles as it healed his wounds, every scratch on his body was healed, the burns and the blunt damages begun to heal, as did the bones in his right hand that Vegeta had broken just minutes ago.

Kami's lookout was, as always, peaceful. Detached from the concerns of the world below, and unknown by the vast majority of earth's populace. It was the perfect place to meditate, the tranquility was perfect for Piccolo's needs. Ever since he discovered the secrets of the Super Namek transformation, he had taken to meditating far more than normal to get more in tune with Namek's gods.

The Namekian in the white gi felt butterflies fluttering around him in the air, the subtle and minuscule shifts in the air from the beating of their wings. His pointed ears picked up on the noise, but his meditation was so intense that it didn't bother him. Nor did the heat of the sun beating down on him.

Dende approached him, his staff clacking with every staff. Kami's old wood staff served no practical purpose, but it was a symbol of authority and office. He seemed to like it at least. "Did you sense the new energies on earth?" the younger Namek asked.

Piccolo's eyes opened slowly, a small growling noise running up his throat. "Something is definitely going on down there. Two new energies that I don't quite recall ever sensing before." he had felt a small shift in his own psyche, he was getting closer and closer to the second form. As it stood, his first form made him almost as strong as a Super Saiyan 2. He'd be able to challenge Goku again soon enough.

"I suppose I'll have to go down and investigate again...Ugh...And no doubt those morons are going to need the Dragon Balls, I'll need to start gathering them..." Piccolo mused, standing up from his meditative stance.

The tank regenerated Raddock's power in less than 20 minutes. He was back to full power again as he opened his eyes. His thoughts was rather simple ' Where am I', ' what happaned', 'how did I get here', which then led to him thinking ' Who am I'. In the next moment, he felt all the powerlevels around him. Some as strong as him, millions weaker than his. And a few that was stronger than him. He recognized one of them, the one of the Saiyan that had faced him at the rocky area.

However, he sensed a new power, that felt different from the others on the planet, a unique powerlevel, that apparently appeared out of nowhere. He vanished from the healing tube, using the Instantaneous Teleportation technique, he appeared in front of the Green skinned being, his arms crossed and his hair still wet. He couldn't explain why, but he felt as if this being could help him, to help him.

He spoke softly. " Hi." He smirked briefly. " You don't know who I am, frankly, I don't know who I am. I know I'm a Saiyan, and I am curious to find out just how strong I am." Raddock began as he spoke to the Namekian, a gust of air striking his hair as he let out a groan, releasing an aura of energy that made the ground shake below them, he didn't transform, just showing off to the opponent. " I sense you are powerful. And your energy is different from that of the others I can sense. Are you a drifer, like me?" Raddock asked him, calmly.

" And, would you perchance be up for some sparring? I can't explain why ,but I've got a nick for fighting, it's like an itch that no matter how much I scratch it won't subside." Raddock told him.

Bulma listened to the story her son told her with a frown on her face, understanding now the bodies her family had brought home to her. Well, somewhat. “I don’t like the sound of this.” Bulma said with a somewhat hardened look, ignoring the fact that Vegeta didn’t even so much as say hi to her. Frankly, she was used to it and normally she would have gone off on some rant about how he was being stuck up, but she had more pressing matters on her mind for the moment. Someone was attacking the city, and for Trunks to not be able to flatten them in just a couple seconds meant trouble for them all. “Were they more Saiyans? It wouldn’t be the first time Frieza missed one.” Bulma pointed out. “Or maybe Androids?”

The moment the senzu bean slipped down her throat, the blue-haired girl sat straight up with wide violet eyes and gasping for breath, coughing up small spurts of blood here and there until her lungs were clean of fluid and the senzu bean did it’s magic by knitting together the injuries from on the inside. As she caught her breath, her eyes dimmed down to their natural green color and braced her hands on the table in which she had been laid down on. It was just then that she had realized that she wasn’t alone and shot a glance to both Bulma and Trunks and blinked a couple times, the horror finally sinking in that she hadn’t a single memory of what had happened, why she was here or who these people even were. Not a single sound came from her, unable to think of what to say or what to do. She swung her legs over to the edge of the table, letting them dangle freely as she sat up and rubbed her head, feeling her headache slowly dissipate.

Bulma watched with a blank expression, waiting until she had come out of her coughing fit before even so much as moving. “Hi. I’m Bulma and you are in Capsule Corp. This is my son Trunks, he’s the one that brought you here.” Bulma said with a somewhat cheery outlook. “We should probably get you washed up and get you into some new clothes, you might be my size and I might have just the thing for you.” Bulma turned to her son, not even so much as giving the poor, frightened girl room to breathe let alone say anything had she wanted to and kept talking. “Trunks, take her upstairs and show her the bathroom while I get her something to wear.” She said and just as quickly as she was talking, left the basement to go up to her own room.

The Lookout had been veiled in a sphere of silence since Majin Buu destroyed it, an enchantment placed on it by Dende to block the sensing of energy levels. Once Piccolo was far enough away from the mystic temple his energy could be sensed again. That was how Raddock as able to reach him.

When he first felt the shift in the air, Piccolo thought it was just Goku coming to talk to him about the new power levels...but a split second later Piccolo realised he was sensing an entirely new energy. He turned to glower at the newcomer, uneasy having a stranger with such a high power level being around him.

"Sparring huh? Yeah, you're a Saiyan alright..." Piccolo replied dryly, folding his arms over his chest. "I have some time to kill, and I've been meaning to train this new power of mine." an aura of dark green light erupted around the Namekian's body, his muscles bulking sightly.

His eyes changed into solid white orbs, while his skin tone turned darker in shade. The increase in might was noticeable, no doubt it would draw out the attention of the others. Probably for the best, in case this kid was more hostile than he let on.

Piccolo lowered himself down to his Demon Stance, one clawed hand aimed forward while his legs spread "Show me what you can do."

Raddock smiled as he felt the bulk in the Namekian's power. He smiled as he nodded for them to go to the Lookout. " You'll have to excuse me, but I really prefer to fight where I can actually stand. Call it a traditional duel." Raddock told Piccolo as he made his way to the lookout, landing with a light tap, he smiled at the younger Namekian, and the black genie. " Howdy" Raddock said, not sounding very hostile.

Popo shook his head as he took Dende inside the lookout. Raddock looked at Piccolo as he smirked " So, this place is a twilight zone for power-levels? Explains how you just popped up." Raddock exclaimed as he took a battle stance of his own, his hands down by his waist, clenched, and his leg's positioning himself towards his enemy. He smiled as the aura around him burst up, and he charged at Piccolo, aiming an elbow towards the Namekian's face, he followed up the elbow with a kick towards Piccolo's waist.
It’s not on the menu, but might I suggest the ‘I got my ass kicked’ martini?
