Shouldnt this be in the advanced interest check?
Basically, we will be playing an MMORPG. You will gain exp and earn levels and you can gain an inventory and etc.I will come up with a base storyline for you to follow, but it will cntain a lot of side quests and such. I need this GM experience as practice for a major game that is going to be taking place soon. So, who is up to help?
By the way, you will need to be able to write extremely well in order to play. I want at least 1 paragraph of 4 sentences each post as a base requirement. Just putting that out there so you know what youre getting nto.

Still working out the details. Leaning towards fantasy as that is the most common in MMORPG's.

Sounds like a cool idea.
But, how would leveling work? Would GM control stats and such? I think it's brave to do something like this; you either have to have control over level, stats, abilities, and weapons, or its just going to be a giant, power-playing mess.
Also, would we play as if we (our characters) are living in an MMO reality, or just playing a game? I think in general, there will need to be a lot of details. But it's worth trying.

I will provide quests and such, and an exp tracker. i am getting this from one I was playing with that failed due to the gm becoming inactive. I am very active, so I decided to give it a shot. Say your mission is to kill wolves. First, doing the quest provides 15 exp, as well as each wolf you kill provides 1 exp. Your goal was to kill 5 wolves and you killed 10. 20 exp is from lvl 1-2. You have gained your 20 exp from the quest rewrd and the first 5 kills, as well as gained rollover exp from the last 5.
i will make a full diagram on leveling and stuff for those interested in knowing how it works.

And I am thinking along the lines of SAO (sword-art online) where you start out as a regular person and once you log into the game, you do not leave. so basically, it will start out as regular people, but then you are simply roleplaying as your in-game character until the end, where, after beating the boss, you get logged out and get to gain the rewards for being the only people to beat the game and such.

Levelling System Basis (Room To Improve)
Current Levelx2x10=Exp Needed to Gain to Obtain Next Lvl.
Ex. Lvl 1=20xp to next lvl. +20xp=lvl2. Lvl2=40xp to next level. You do not start out with 20 exp for that next level. You start back on 0 xp and have to gain all 40 pts to reach the next level. Lvl2 Xp=0/40. This system works for all the levels. Lvl 3=60, Lvl4=80. Commonly, quests will provide 5xp as a base, then will multiply that based on difficulty, using a rating system of 1 star to 1,000,000 stars, allowing anything up to 5,000,000 xp to be gained per quest anytime throughout the game. This most likely will not happen, but it is true. No, you will not be able to fall below your current level, but penalties can be made within the game that will remove tons of xp, and may even drain your inventory. More detail will be provided within an ooc.

It seams like a good system. Complex for RPG but doable. I believe if I get around to an running an MMO here, I would use a white wolf form of leveling where you spend your experience on your stats.
I like the idea of branching off SAO.Cool beans.

I was thinking that we could do sort of a token system like they use in BO2 for the skills and such. Each level you gain 1 token and every 2 levels, you unlock 3 new skills to buy, them varying how many tokens are needed to gain the skill you want. These skills can be passive, such as a small regenerative ability over time, active, such as an immediate attack or defense move, or weaponistic, like being able to dual wield, or swap to a ranged weapon faster.

But I'm intrigued by your idea.
