Caprice looked out the lofty window of her room. She was pining to interact with the other students who filled the large courtyard below. Heck, she was even pining to talk to those dirty students from the Nessarose Academy. Unfortunately, Caprice's mother, Glinda, is very overprotective of her two children and forbade them to interact with any of the students for the first four years of their education at Ruby Academy. Now, finally a week after the twins' birthday, their mother is allowing them to attend classes with the other students; rather than requiring them to be taught with private tutors. As today there are no classes, the students roamed free as they please.
Caprice and her brother, still under lock and key by their mother, aren't allowed to attend classes until the start of the week. Which so happens to be tomorrow.
"Sis, you need to stop looking out to the courtyard like some creep." Sagewarned, walking into Caprice's room without invitation. Caprice sent her brother a look of annoyance and stuck out her tongue at him. Though she'd never admit it, this is how Caprice spends a large sum of her time. Since her brother and herself aren't allowed in the public eye, they don't interact with many people of variation. Well, at least Caprice doesn't. Sage, the rebel of the family, has been sneaking out to the courtyard since both were fourteen. Caprice, ever true and responsible, always refused to partake in her brothers' antics. Mainly because she really has no clue what she's been missing out on all these years.
"You wanna sneak out to the courtyard with me right now?" Sage suggested with a waggle of his brows. Caprice looked at her brother with disdain and a grudgingly small amount of admiration. Secretly, she had always yearned for the adventurous spirit of her brother. Instead, she decided to play it safe; following all the rules and expectations set by their stern, loving and scatterbrained mother.
"No, Sage, I'm going to stay in tonight, just as I advise you to. I don't want you getting caught by mother. What a great shame it would be to have her revoke your right to attend school with the rest of the students tomorrow, just because of some foolishness of today." Caprice replied with the practiced discipline that was instilled in her at a young age.
Her brother shrugged and wandered out of her room.

Sage walked down the corridors of Ruby Academy, making his way towards the courtyard. He shook his head, his thoughts on his goody-two shoes of a sister. Why does she have to be so uppity all the time? Where's her sense of adventure?
"Dumb girl." Sage mumbled to himself, not understanding what makes his sister tick. Who wouldn't want to go out and experience the world? She's going to have quite the reality check tomorrow, learning that not everything is bubbles and puppies. Sage mused, being rather conspicuous with his 'escape' from his dorm. It's pathetic, really, how little their mother checks on what her children are really doing. She's such a trusting person that she figures that her children would never double-cross her. It does make Sage sad that he doesn't obey his mother as his sister does; his need for MORE is overwhelming though.
Sage walked out into the courtyard, noticing that it was considerably less populated than it was when he was in his sisters' room. In fact, there seemed to be only one girl out there, all by herself. What caught Sages' attention first was her peculiar lips; green! Next, he noticed that gut-tug feeling that descendants of the original witches get when coming in contact with each other. So, this girl is Elphaba's daughter.Sage mused, a smile of amusement tugging on his lips. He decided to have a little fun with her. He used simple magic, well... simple to him, to blow some of the autumn leaves around the green-lipped girls' feet.
