"Captain Phoenix! Captain Phoenix! The farm lands are being ravaged and there's another crew of pirates headed this way!" A little girl with bright blue eyes and an auburn buzzcut came skidding to a halt in front of a figure on a throne. She was trembling with a dirt and tear stained face. The figure on the throne stirred, her face covered by a large hat as the rest of her body was sprawled across her seat. A muffled groan came from under the hat as the Captain began to stand, soon towering over Nina, the little girl. "Joy of fucking joys." Nevaeh frowned as she placed her hat on top of her throne, smoothing out her violet mane before looking down. "Alright, Nina. You go play while I rally up the troops." She gave a soft smile before putting two fingers into her mouth and emitting an ear-splitting whistle. "Lidia! Flint! You're coming with me!" The response was the appearance of a green-haired maid and a male that could pass as the maid's twin. Nevaeh had two other ships besides The Tempest. Lidia was the enforcer on her second ship, The Phoenix of the Sea while Flint enforced her rule on Heaven. Over the course of twelve years, Nevaeh had amassed a crew of one hundred eight. Well, as far as ship crew went. And she planned on adding at least four more ships within the next eight months.
Her First Mate, Lidia, sighed and shook her head. "Shall we go? I would like to be back before tea." Lidia was a prompt woman with an intimidating and serious demeanor. She smoothed out her apron and strode past her brother and her Captain. Flint chuckled and pumped his fist in the air with a wide, chesire grin. "Alright! Let's crack some heads!" The Second Mate was the polar opposite of his twin; he was cheery and comical, though never to be underestimated. They both had been among the first to join Nev'a crew when she was thirteen, though they had joined her as personal maid and butler. But their skill in battle and at enforcing her rule when she was ill accompanied with their undying loyalty earned them promotions when the second and third ships had been acquired. Nevaeh enjoyed their company generally more than the others'. Not that she didn't totally love her other crew members. She adored every single one of the Arashi Pirates. They earned their places.
She and Flint weren't too far behind, meeting Lidia at the front gates, hurrying into the saddles of the readied mares. "To the farm lands!" Nev cried, spurring her horse into the jungle that separated the farm lands from the compound. Her adrenaline was rushing as the heat of the looming battle washed over her. Her cheeks were already flushed, blue eyes lit and shining like the sun reflecting off of the ocean. She hadn't had a decent fight in ages! The inhabitants of the southern part of Arashi Island usually did really well at fending off the unwanteds. For them to come to her meant that it was serious. Probably another challenge to her Shichibukai throne. People came to Arashi Island for only few reasons: To settle, to vacation, to trade, or to fight. Those who came for a fight only did so to challenge her for Shichibukai. Over two hundred had tried. All of them failed, not even coming close.
The ride to the farm lands was a short one - They went as fast as their horses would go, making sure to catch every shortcut possible. They came up quickly near the treeline, jumping off of their equestrian friends. Lidia brandished only the same small tea cup and saucer that she always pulled out of nowhere, stirring it slowly with a dainty spoon. Flint chose butterknives. Nev, dressed as though ready to attend a gala, sporting a fashionable blue ball gown, brandishing a fan designed with a blue phoenix. It was an odd, unintimidating sight, really. They walked with gusto towards the merry band of pirates that had made their way into a group, marching towards the trio. They were lead by a man that couldn't be shorter than seven feet, built with muscle. His crew were equally as built, not a single femme in sight.
"May I help you nice gentlemen?" Nev smiles politely, her voice melodious and dripping with honey. Lidia sipped slowly as Flint shoved his hands into his pockets. The man before them flexed and roared. He literally roared, shaking his mane of auburn hair. He looked like a lion...and eerily familiar. And not in a good way. "I am Lionel! Lion of the seas! King of all blues! Leader of the Lion Pirates as passed down from my father! This island was once his. I have come back to reclaim it, his honor, and the place of Shichibukai." Nev's eyes.were closed, her face shining with the spit that had flown out of the man's mouth. "Oh my." She whispered, fanning herself frantically. "Where is the Captain of the Arashi Pirates?" Lidia was stirring her tea as Nev stepped forward. "Well, you're looking at her." The man laughed in response, turning to his crew to start laughing louder, a slew of sexist, rude, perverse comments flying from his mouth.
The laughing stopped abruptly as his head fell to the ground followed by his body. "Never turn your back on your opponent." Nev was brandishing the fan that was now showing several blades that were dripping with blood. The rest of the Lion Pirates stood in awe, though it was soon that in a blur of green, they all fell.
"How rude." Lidia sighed, her spoon bloody.
"How dull." Flint huffed, his butter knives bloody.
"Attend to the destroyed farms and anyone injured." Nevaeh was thoroughly displeased with the utter lack of challenge and the disrespect. "I'm getting a drink." She scowled, shaking the blood from her fan and retracting the blades as she moved around the dead bodies to her destination - Little damage had been dealt, as it seemed they intended only to march straight to the compound. People thanked her as she passed, though seemed ashamed that they had wasted her time with such an easy kill. She waved them off with a light smile as she popped into the Inn and grabbed their largest bottle of blackberry wine before making her way to the beach. There were a number of injured people, though no fatalities. She was pleased with that fact. And now she had a new ship! She moves on board and in a number of short jumps, she found herself in the Crow's Nest. It was a small ship, but not too bad. Ugly design. But well armed.
She sat back a little, popping open her wine and taking a long swig. She sighed as the salty sea breeze ruffled her bangs, closing her eyes...She was thinking of drifting to sleep, but thought to check for any other incoming ships. She put down her wine and took up the telescope and looked out to the sea, scanning...A ship was on the horizon, not too far away. "Mmm. I do love visitors..." She smiled, sliding back into a sitting position, taking her wine up once more. Either she was about to make a new ally or new enemies. Despite being Shichibukai, she was rather sociable and actually knew of her counterparts and interacted in a friendly manner with most of them. While she was 'legally' under World Government command, she really didnt listen to them and they weren't going to dare remove her title. She enjoyed the intimidating hold she had on them. She often thought to forsake her Shichibukai title to be called a Yonkou. But she was young and had time to think about it later...
