OOC Thread
You think you know what to look for; how to protect yourself and your family from the things that go bump in the night. Well, consider yourself blissfully ignorant. Vampires, werewolves and various other creatures walk among humans, practically hidden in plain sight. With humans moving into a more modern age, these creatures have had to adapt to avoid being caught and destroyed. In the city, covenants and packs appear as no more than simple gangs... But when the sun goes down, the fangs come out.
Welcome one and all to my 'A Different Kind Of Twilight' Interest thread. This is my first Rp with this particular site so I wanted to experiment a little, see what I could come up with. I like having the oppinions and suggestions of the crowd so I didn't put too much into the plot at this point but I do have a few things that I wanted to let you know about before you raise your hand. As much of a fan of Stephenie Myere's work, I am not a personal fan of the sparkly, indestructable type of vampire. Any vampires in this will look like normal humans during the day and 'transform'(if you wish) at night. Abilities are a possibility. If you think of something you would like your character to have, I would like to be consulted first. Werewolves are another thing I wanted to clarify, seeing as many people have different preferences on what version they would like... So I made list of both Vampire and Werewolf information. If you would like to be a different kind of creature as me about it, and I'll tell you if it fits what I had in mind.
VAMPIRES:
Vampires are an old and very proud race, constantly hunted by the Werewolves. They can consume human food during the day but doing so will make their bloodlust after night fall nearly uncontrolable. The bite of a Pure Blood Vampire is the only kind that will turn a human. Half breeds are what result from an infected human. They are very much like the day form of the Pure Bloods, with increased agility and reflexes. However their thirst for blood never ceases, making them difficult to control at times.
The covenant of this particular city is spread out between three major gangs: Serenity, Crescent, and The Black Widows. All three of the gangs are lead by Pure Bloods but the members depend on the gang.
Serenity: This is the 'Mother Gang', lead by the covenant leader's daughter. It is an extremely small group, made up of only two other Pure Bloods. This gang is mainly the head, giving out big orders to the other two gangs when needed.
Crescent And Black Widows: These are the two mixed gangs, lead by Pure Bloods but consisting of mixed blood members. While they take orders from Serenity, they are given a pretty free reign to hunt when they need to as well as fight the werewolves when they need to.
WEREWOLVES:
Pure werewolves are increasingly rare, most hiding out in the more remote regions of the world, but there is one who has put his trust in the lower bloodlines to hunt down the vampires for his amusement. It's true that werewolves change on the full moon, but only the Pure Blooded have that restriction. Half breeds of this creature can shift under any moon but a new moon. They look like giant wolves that can stand on two legs like humans, but run fastest when on all fours. As humans during the day, their sense smell is incredible and they can eat any normal human diet.
While the vampires resemble a more organized crime, the pack is one giant gang that moves as individual thugs. Only when the Pure Blood orders the capture of more vampires do they work together to hunt the covenant down.
EXTRA CREATURES:
Other creatures that live within the city limits are on their own. They may side with the covenant, or they may side with the pack and if they really want to... They can work on their own agenda... These often work best as spies.
GARGOYLES:
a race that shares some characteristics with werewolfs (the transformations mostly), but are tied to a certain piece of land, a building, or a person that they must protect lest they fall into madness. They would probably be used by mostly vampires (if they control their focus or if they are under the old contract, an agreement between ancient Gargoyles and an Ancient Vampire clan) to protect important building or individuals. All Gargoyles would also have a focus that they would wear around their neck in human form, a peace of dark stone usually, that allows them to control their more temperamental side (and is ironically one of their greatest weaknesses much like a lych's phylactery). when in beast form the look like a large humanoid with lizard like features and tattered/torn wings and tail, wickedly sharp claws, sharp teeth and a dark colored scaled hide that is able to shrug off most attacks (which gave rise to the myth they were made of stone). Even in their human form they have acute night-vision and a sense of the state of, and location if needed, of their tied point. They also have circumstantial immortality.

- I wasn't planning on much romance but just in case things turn in that direction, I'll assume you know to keep it clean. A similar thing goes for the violence. Detail is good in a fight scene, like the sound of blades clashing or the smell of blood(since these are blood thirsty creatures) but please hold off on the guts on the pavement. It's a bit over kill

- I would like fairly literate responses. One paragraph MINIMUM. I understand that somedays are excellent, and you can write a whole book while others you can barely type your username and password. I understand this, but the continued use of insufficient posts will result in a friendly message. If after speaking with you, I decided to remove you from the RP, that is my decision and I would prefer it if you would leave peacefully rather than making a scene.
- This brings me to fight scenes. Dodging is ok, as long as every once in a while you get hit. NO AUTO HITS! This means you can throw a punch but you have to wait to see what they do before declaring it a hit. Now if someone throws a punch at you and you block and follow through with some kind of grip or retaliation, start said move and see if they find a practical way out of getting caught.
At this moment I am looking for a Co-GM to be the Pure Blood Werewolf(as well as any other characters they want to play) and gang members.
With the werewolves it doesn't matter as much when it comes to structure or 'powerful roles'. With these guys I would just like to request even(ish) numbered genders. However with the vampires, I need at LEAST the two Pure Blood gang leaders. After those spots are filled, we can then fill the two Serenity positions and the mixed gang member positions for BW and Crescent. As long as we have the leaders and some werewolves, we can start and just let people slip in as we go.
ONE LAST THING:
You may make as many characters as you think you can handle, but if you land a leader role don't ask for another one. Even I'm only holding one leader-type roll.
Any questions or suggestions, place them here as well as if you are interested or shoot me a PM. Which ever you prefer.
