Northward Asylum: Episode One. ['Horror Movie' Themed Roleplay Series Idea]

Welcome to my original roleplay idea! Now, some of this might be confusing, or not well explained, so feel free to comment below if you have any questions. This roleplay is going to be mature themed, with quite a bit of death, so... heads up. The setting of this roleplay is Northward, an Asylum for the insane, shut down decades ago after a string of mass suicides amongst both the staff, and the patients. Nothing more than an abandoned building, surrounded by miles of dense forest, the area has been the site of many disappearances over the years, with nothing ever discovered; incase you haven't gathered, the Asylum is haunted by the insane patients and the malicious staff.

And that is where we will come in: this roleplay is going to be... different than others. Its story is going to play along a few 'episodes', each episode taking place over one night inside Northward. Each episode will feature a new set of characters, with maybe one character from the previous episode carrying over to the next to carry on the story; the other characters from previous episodes will, of course, have died in the previous episode; yes, our characters are going to die... alot. As I've said, it's a horror-movie themed roleplay; as such, each episode will begin with a various group of people reaching Northward. Upon entering, their goal will be to survive the night, uncover the mystery behind the building, and possibly try to survive; the episode might start with six roleplayer characters, and only two pages in, half of them might be dead; I will decide who dies, but it'll be your job to have them killed off in any manner you see fit. But don't worry; my characters will die too. The basic aim of the roleplay is to solve and uncover the mystery over many episodes; maybe one of your characters from one episode leaves a note for any future characters, or a video tape, telling them what they have discovered and such before they die. Sometimes, on rare occassions, a character might survive the night, and return in the next episode with a new group of survivors, maybe to bring help back or something, and that would begin another episode.

As for how people will die, here is a brief sum up; Eight characters might start the episode. Every now and then, I will select someone to die, going by what has gone on in the posts; maybe your character wandered off from the group, that would be a chance to have someone killed. Of course, people won't be killed off everytime they wander off; it's just an example. While I choose who dies, you choose how they die. Once dead, you are out of that current episode, but are free to either make another character in the next episode, or simply end it there, and someone else can join in the next episode; it's up to you. I won't be bias or unfair; my character is just as likely to die as yours, it all goes on what happens in the story. Each episode lasts a night, so of course, each episode won't be too long, but not too short; remember, we need to uncover the story whilst trying to survive the night.

The first episode will feature six-eight characters, part of a University film project. You can be as creative with your character as you like, but they must be apart of the University film crew visiting the abandoned asylum.

So, any questions? Did that all make sense? Thoughts?

Their ghosts. They would haunt the Asylum and its surrounding forests, and as soon as our characters enter the building, they would hunt us down one by one. You can be as creative with the ghosts as you'd like; not all have to be evil, but the majority will be out to kill you.

Unfortunately, not. Our characters would play the roles of each group reaching the Asylum; the ghosts would be purely NPC characters, stalking the halls, and killing us off in true horror-movie fashion. The problem with having roleplayers playing ghosts would be that their characters would constantly be around, episode after episode, where as the theme for each episode is to have more or less a completely new set of player characters, other than maybe one survivor.

Eh, I'll give this one a shot. How many episodes do you have planned? (If that's how it works).

I haven't really planned out a certain number; that'll depend on how the roleplay goes. Of course, there will be quite a few, and roleplayers whom take part are free to stay for as many as they like, free to create a new character each episode.
