Welcome to the OOC of Supernatural: Dark Rising. This is where members will chat, post questions/concerns/suggestions, and post character sheets.

There are evils in this world that only few know about. They sit in the shadows. Hide in the dark. Prey on the weary. These creatures are dangerous, to me, to you, to everyone. Ghosts. Vampires. Spirits. Werewolves. Demons. Things you could never imagine. Luckily, there are people in the world who know of these creatures. They make it their job to hunt them down and kill them. Many lives are saved thanks to these hunters, but unfortunately for a few, help came too late... Whether born into the life or dragged into it by some even, the hunters are experts in the world of the paranormal, the Supernatural. They fight in the shadows, saving lives and taking revenge. They didn't choose the life, the life chose them. The Dark is Rising, as it always has. Hunters must fight to maintain the balance of good and evil in this world.



Plot

This will be a roleplay based off of the television show "Supernatural". If you have not seen the show, don't worry. The basics of how the roleplay will work can be explained relatively easily. There are creatures in the world: Ghosts, Vampires, Sirens, Werewolves, Demons, Angels, Genies, Changlings, "Zombies", Witches, Wraiths. The list goes on FOREVER. To help everyone in this roleplay out a little, I will post the information of whichever creature the characters are hunting. I will include their strengths, weaknesses, how to kill them, and a bit about them. Hopefully this will keep things straight.

If you haven't seen Supernatural, I highly recommend it. If you have any questions about the roleplay or any suggestions for plot or story lines, please speak up and let's hear 'em! I am a very open-minded person and I want to know what everyone would like to see in this roleplay. I don't want to control the aspect of every members' character(s), I leave it up to you and your creativity. The way I think the roleplay will start out is that everyone will be on their own, or just small groups or pairs, who are working their own cases. The way to interact with eachother is to run into one another on cases, in the bar, at the motels, or however. If a member ever needs to know about a creature or needs ideas on what to hunt or anything like that, just say so and I will reply with information on a creature or being.

I would like to keep this mostly similar to the show. The human hunters do not have super powers, except for a select few "special children". Even they only have one power. If you want to play as a species other than human, you must ask me first. I don't want too many people playing as Vampires or Demons, because the roleplay is about hunters. But we do need other roles filled, as it would get boring and wouldn't be fair if I played as all of the antagonists.

Rules

1.) No GodModding in this Roleplay. You are not allowed to take control of any member's character, unless given permission by them. I may only take control of a character if a member is MIA for a long time and it is needed to advance the roleplay.
2.) Humans do NOT have powers. If you wish to play as a Demon, Vampire, etc., your character may only have the normal powers/strength that that creature would normally have.
3.) Be kind, be respectful, be patient. I don't want any rudeness, I want to see respect and I want people to be reasonably patient.
4.) No Spamming.
5.) Maximum characters per person is 3. If you wish to have more than three characters, you may ask me. I will decide if you can based on how well you handle your other characters in the roleplay.
6.) The Co-GM and I have permission to place people under probation/suspension if these rules are broken.
7.) I have the ability to change/add rules at any time.

Basic Information

Hunters usually do not choose to become what they are. They are either raised in the life, or are brought into it by some personal experience with demons or creatures. Most hunters drive old, classic/muscle cars. Whether new to the life or basically a professional, hunters have a lot of knowledge on the supernatural, though they are always learning more. Hunters have a variety of weapons, such as shotguns, pistols, machetes, crossbows, Holy Water, salt, tazers, etc. A couple basic things to know: Ghosts, demons, and several other supernatural creatures have a weakness for salt. They cannot cross a salt line, and it burns when thrown on them. Any evil creature like a demon has a weakness to Holy Water. And Demons leave a trace of Sulfur wherever they go. Personality:
Outgoing and outspoken. Is intelligent and intuitive, while also curious. She is kind and friendly, trying to help anyone out should they need it. Kenny is a Christian, a cross hanging from her rear view mirror in her car. She is comical and sarcastic, and tries to make the best out of a bad situation. She has a confidence about her, and she always believes she can do what she sets her mind to. She is a romantic, though she doesn't pursue any man, she lets them come to her and will only give them the time of day if she feels that they aren't going to use her.

Bio:
Kennedy was raised in the state of Oklahoma, living out in the country and attending a small town school. She was the top of her graduating class, which only consisted of 50 people. She managed to gain a scholarship to Oklahoma State University for soccer and academics. She left home to go to college, living in an apartment in Stillwater that was close to campus. She visited home often, almost every other weekend since her parents' house was only about 50 miles away. Kenny was a soccer star for OSU, leading the team to a Big 12 championship and a National Championship.
She made the National Soccer team when she was 21, and had to leave the country to South America for a tournament. Her parents were unable to go, they couldn't afford the trip. The tourney lasted 3 weeks, and when Kenny returned home with the win, she wanted to go and show her parent's the trophy she had gotten. Kennedy went to Stillwater to grab her things and head home. When she got to her parent's house, she could tell something was wrong.
Kennedy walked into the house, a smile on her face as she was excited to see the pride on her parents' faces. "Mom? Dad?" Kennedy walked farther into the house, and saw her parents sitting in the living room. ESPN was on the television, showing the interview of Kennedy and her teammates, as well as highlights of the tournament. But her parents... they were just staring at the TV. As Kenny walked into the room, her mother and father looked at her. But their eyes....their eyes were a pitch black. "Hello, honey." An evil grin had crept across her mother's face. "Mom? What...what's wrong with you?" Her 'mother' stood up and took a few steps towards Kenny. "I'm not your mommy, you damned fool." And then, her mother took a knife and grinned. She threw the knife at Kennedy's father. It hit him straight in the head.
Kenny screamed with fear and terror, and watched as a black smog escaped through her father's mouth and disappear into the air. The same thing happened to her mother, and her mom collapsed to the ground. Kennedy backed away, mortified at what she had just witnessed. Her mom came to, finally convincing Kennedy that it was really her. She explained what had happened. Kenny didn't believe her, "Demons? What?" Her mother explained that Kennedy's grandfather had been a hunter. She even showed Kennedy a diary of her grandpa, which contained pictures, descriptions, killing methods, and anything she would need to know about the supernatural world. "Kenny, we knew one day this would catch up with us. Take this. You will need to know everything that is in here, you're a part of it now." Kennedy didn't have a choice but to believe her mom and study the journal extensively. She had vowed to find the demon that had killed her father, and that set her in the world of being a hunter. She left the fame of being an international soccer star behind, it had been her dream. But this, this was more important to her. It has been two years into her hunting career, and Kennedy has learned a lot. She was a natural hunter, resilient and headstrong. She still has much to learn, but she holds her own. Kennedy takes on cases as she passes through towns and states. But they are more like side jobs as she follows leads to the demon she is hunting.

Personality: Jacob is the spawn of Chuck Shurley and Lilith. Jake has never found out who either his father or mother was. Apparently however, Jake has found out with his newfound powers, that he is not to be messed with. Occasionally he has gotten in trouble with others before, but he hates to hurt anyone, which is odd, because in rare instances when he has lost his temper he can really let loose with the hurt, although this is only on supernatural dangers.

At heart he is a gentle soul.

Bio:
Jake was put into an orphanage as a young child from a mysterious woman barely seen. He languished in it's care for long years until he was finally adopted at the age of ten.
Jake was adopted at the age of ten from an orphanage by a wealthy man named Ted Autumns. Ted taught him many life lessons which Jake accepts and has learned with gratitude. Jake has learned the arts, martial arts and business, as well as authorship and rudimentary sciences. Over the years, he has come to find out that he has genuine powers that other people simply don't have, and it both excites and scares him at the same time. He has no idea what possibilities await him in life.

Personality: Like every single demon in existence, Chamus is just out to better himself. He works entirely within his own self-interest and every move he makes has some sort of hidden motive that secretly benefits himself. He also sports a massive ego. Because he is currently on the run, he is much more nervous and fidgety than other demons. He still remains greedy, cunning and sadistic but his being on the run has made him more emotionally unpredictable, quickly changing from being neutral to anger in a snap. He has a general dislike for other demons and avoids them now more than ever, choosing the company of normal humans. Though his ego does sometimes get in the way, he manages to make rational, sensible decisions based on the task at hand.
Bio: It is said that the higher you are, the longer you have to fall. While this certainly does apply to angels and the process of falling from Grace, the same can also be applied to demons. All it takes is one little mistake and your entire life could blow up in your face. Or after life, really, since Chamus already died once.
Before his time as a demon, Chamus was a human living in England. This was before England formed a treaty with the surrounding nations to make the United Kingdom but that really isn't important other than to say he's really old. It was during the War of the Roses that he struck a deal with a demon. His son had just been killed during the war and, in return for his soul, he desired for both sides to suffer. The result was the Battle of Towton, the bloodiest fight ever fought on British soil. When the time came for Chamus to go to Hell, he did so willingly.
Gradually, Chamus was robbed of his humanity in Hell and was transformed into a demon. Like most demons, he started out at the very bottom of the pile, writhing around in the lowest regions of Hell. But he wasn't about to settle for being last, nor even second. He wanted to rise up and be the best.
Contrary to some belief that Hell is simply a mass of disorganized chaos, there is a hierarchy to Hell. The Devil leads and those most powerful serve under him. Chamus had been a fairly powerful demon in Hell and spent most of his time waiting on the Devil hand and foot. Naturally, he really didn't like being nothing more than a servant and decided he would make a better Devil. So, behind the Devil's back, he came up with a plan to kill the ruler of Hell. And it would have worked if the Devil hadn't managed to find him out before he had been about to kill him.
Plan foiled and all of Hell turned against him, Chamus fled to the human world with his tail between his legs. He waited there in a human host, hoping the entire thing would blow over and he would eventually be able to return to Hell. However, due to the fact he was high up on the Hell hierarchy and the Devil knew him personally, demons are constantly sent after him, forcing him to go deeper into hiding or risk being destroyed.
Vehicle: Chamus drives a black 1961 Jaguar E-type. Even in exile from Hell, he still has taste.

Personality: Beau is a friendly man who likes nothing more than an ice cold beer, whiskey, big trucks, women, and getting dirty (literally). Born in the country, he was raised to never back down from a job until it is "good and finished". When he isn't found kicking major demon ass, you can often find him competing at a mudding competition with a beer in his hand and a steering wheel in the other. Living by the mantra "work hard, player harder", Beau has no problem kicking back after a long day of hunting with a couple of friends at a nearby bar.

While the man seems to hit on any sexy little number that waltzes his way, he is very cautious about who he chooses to sleep with--on the account that the woman in question could be a blood sucking vampire, a psychotic creature from the depths of hell or any other number of monsters that could possibly leave him bloodied and void of all bodily contents on a curb somewhere. Well, a guy of his background has to be cautious, right? In fact, while he is a social guy, it is very difficult for him to truly trust anyone he doesn't hunt with--and, even then, he tends to be quite the skeptic.

Bio: Being born in Utah, Charlie was a child violinist prodigy and was valued by her friends and family. When Charlie was 8 how ever. Her father, Leo Macdonald, a terrific and famous scientist left Charlie and her family at 8. Charlie's brother, Oliver Macdonald, moved to Chicago While Charlie, her sister Tanya and her mother, Ellen, Moved to Topeka Kansas. It was then that Charlie found out that her father up and went missing and Charlie's sister was killed by an unknown entity. 7 years later Charlie lived a pretty normal life, But her mother became an alcoholic and her brother moved back with them, with no life at all. 2 more years later, Charlie graduated High school with a highschool degree in art, music, and especially Computer technology. Charlie moved down to Virginia, and began working as an I.T girl at Richman Roman Enterprises. While in Virginia, Charlie learned partial martial arts. But Charlie has a goal in mind: Find her Father.

Always getting her out of trouble, except for the times when she can rescue herself (That means Charlie won't be the stupid damsel in distress). Being A Hunter, he takes his role seriously, and is always willing to help out other hunters find and destroy the supernatural.

Sophie's personality is very flimsy, klutzy, and carefree. She enjoys the sweet things in life for the matter of experience. Parts of her personality sometimes come out to be very cautious and cynical in social situations. After the beginning of her life as a huntress, she began to experience a split personality between keeping social connections and cutting any contact. Nothing too terrible; to avoid any huge problems she keeps friendships on a thin line. Apart from being a total klutz, she is also very fixated and serious. Her addiction to coffee has led her to behave frantically while "sober" around people. Even though it's not something severe, she can have moments of irritation and anxiety. Aside from that, acquaintances find she can ramble a lot if she's in good condition. When she finds herself in dangerous situations, she almost always relies on her gut instinct to tell her what to do next. This says enough about her personal values.

Bio:
Sophie was raised by her widowed mother, Sofia Joyce. They both had lost James, father and husband, before Sophie had been conceived. Sofia wouldn't tell her why her father wasn't around, but promised that they would some day be reunited. It wasn't until she was older that she put together the death of her father. Growing up together, they lived a perfectly normal life in a suburban-rural area isolated from most civilization in Montana. Sophie attended school until the age of 18, when college came up. She's very intelligent, but because she had no colleges near her area, she was forced to live her life with regular labor until she would accrue enough money to move alone and start college. Sophie aspired to become a professional soccer player. There was nothing more enticing to her than the feeling of juggling a soccer ball around nonstop, or instinctively playing a soccer game. Instead, she spent most of her time either applying for local jobs, or exercising at home. Eventually, she found a job at a local cafe for a barista position. She worked regular hours for several years, until her dreams had become crushed. She lost all inspiration to become a soccer player, and found her job comfortable enough to live life that way. After hitting 25, she became head manager of the cafe.

A couple of months later, Sofia had passed away at age 56 from unknown conditions. The assigned pathologist admitted being slightly surprised due to her great health, but dismissed it as one of life's anomalies. Sophie had nothing against her mother, but ever since she turned 15 her mother had become very detached. She repeatedly heard her mumble to herself in a very anxious mood. Sophie would ask Sofia about her mother's behavior to no avail. All she would get as a response is that "everything will be okay." Sophie was too young to think much about it except that she probably was thinking about money issues. However, the negative behavior grew within Sofia as time passed. She became borderline mentally abusive toward Sophie, continuously repeating that it's "not our fault." After Sofia's death, Sophie had become fully independent. She resulted to binge on coffee and work overtime. She worked unnatural hours trying to forget the image of her mother. At one point, she even thought she was going insane. She felt she started to hallucinate after seeing her father standing across the street through her office window; closing and rubbing her eyes, his image was gone. After that, she took to normalize her schedule to avoid going any crazier. This time, she decided her job wasn't worth the stay, and decided to move out of Montana. She started paving the road forward by first going out of town for a couple of days to buy herself an efficient car. From there, she was set to move anywhere far away from her hometown.

On one fateful night, Sophie decided to work after-hours again to collect a little more money. The final hours of work started setting, and the shop was closed. She had heard the entrance door bells ringing. When she checked to see who it may have been, she was left shocked. In front of her was her father, which she repeatedly dismissed as an illusion. Her body grew weak as her supposedly dead father explained the situation. She felt manic, and eventually passed out due to mental exhaustion. She woke up about an hour later to the sound of crunching. Her father was lying on the floor in front of her being torn to bits by nothing, blood and meat floating upward from his carcass. The shock of the sight made Sophie scream in confusion. When she tried to move back, she began to hear a growling sound coming from her front. At that moment, a large gunshot exploded in front of her, ending the growling to a subtle yelp. On that fateful night, she met the one person that would change her life for the next two years.

Personality: Jason is a kind soul, though he sees the bad in people and always wants to make them better. He is kind of far off sometimes and is very much so socially awkward. He is highly intelligent, and is aware of his own abilities and can use them. He is loyal to those he trusts, to the point of he will kill anybody who tries to harm them. Ruthlessly.
Bio: Jason has always seen and talked to dead people. He even claimed to talk to a few demons. This was enough to straight up land him in a mental asylum. The boy was disturbing, he scared everybody. He would tell them things about themselves that they were trying to forget. As if he could see their souls (which he actually could.) This was only the beginning. Soon, voices were being heard all over the building, espcially near Jason's cell. They were heard talking to him. Their were strange cases of ghost reports, flying objects like plates, being carried by something invisible, but it's voice could be heard speaking. Then the dead started returning to life, and they did the bidding of Jason, talked to him, served him. Recently a news team was sent in to see if these were true. They went to talk to the boy while broadcasting live.

Throughout the first half of his vampiric life, Tommy was arrogant and sarcastic, showing little to no regard for human life and using whatever people he can get his hands on as his personal playthings. He showed pity to neither adults nor children, even going as far to killing families to "prove" that he has no humanity left. He was also a very impulsive vampire, known for his self-destructive behavior and his devious, sadistic mind. Now in the present, Tommy is more calm and relaxed, not letting his animalistic nature control him. He has more regard for human life and is less of an asshole than he used to be. However, he can still come across as arrogant and sarcastic, being over confident for the fact he's really old and powerful. He's blunt and too the point and if you pose any kind of a threat to him, he will kill you on the spot without even hesitating. Even though he may come across as someone that doesn't care, it's all just a mask to hide his vulnerabilities and the fact he's still an 18 year old at heart.
Bio:
Tommy was born in 13th century Europe to two peasants that worked as merchants in their village. Growing up, Tommy had a hard time, being so poor and not always able to eat. When a famine broke out through Europe, his family was hit hard. His mom had passed due to a strange sickness and his dad left without return, leaving Tommy to look after himself. This led him to steal coins and food from the town in order to feed himself. One day, Tommy was caught and beaten up in the woods, left to die. That was when the Alpha Vampire (The first vampire) found him and uttered "How about never having to go hungry again?" And with that, the Alpha turned Tommy into a vampire. Tommy was the protege of the Alpha, learning everything there was about being a vampire. During the time the Americas were discovered, The Alpha Vampire cut him loose, telling him now he must go and be on his own now. Tommy sailed over to the Americas and lived there ever since. During the 17th century, his mate Stefan was killed by hunters, making him go into a frenzy. He began slaughtering towns and villages, the killings known as the Ripper Massacre because he would literally rip humans apart. After awhile, he came at peace with the fact that he was dead and lived in the shadows since. Now in the present, Tommy is trying to turn turn over a new leaf and try animal blood and blood from blood banks. Even though the craving of hunting still courses through his veins, he tries to fight it off. Being a 800+ year old vampire, he knows a lot and has more control over his vampirism, being one of the strongest vampires around. Although not hunting humans anymore, he still has a distaste for hunters since they killed his mate centuries ago. Tommy still roams the states, searching for his purpose.
Abilities, Weapons, Powers:
Basic Vampire Abilities-These are heightened due to his age and the fact he was trained by the Alpha Vampire. He's also very fast. Sunlight causes no discomfort and Dead Man's Blood does little harm to him.

It was during the War of the Roses that he struck a deal with a demon. His son had just been killed during the war and, in return for his soul, he desired for both sides to suffer. The result was the Battle of Towton, the bloodiest fight ever fought on British soil. When the time came for Chamus to go to Hell, he did so willingly.
Gradually, Chamus was robbed of his humanity in Hell and was transformed into a demon. Like most demons, he started out at the very bottom of the pile, writhing around in the lowest regions of Hell. But he wasn't about to settle for being last, nor even second. He wanted to rise up and be the best.
Contrary to some belief that Hell is simply a mass of disorganized chaos, there is a hierarchy to Hell. The Devil leads and those most powerful serve under him. Chamus had been a fairly powerful demon in Hell and spent most of his time waiting on the Devil hand and foot. Naturally, he really didn't like being nothing more than a servant and decided he would make a better Devil. So, behind the Devil's back, he came up with a plan to kill the ruler of Hell. And it would have worked if the Devil hadn't managed to find him out before he had been about to kill him.
Plan foiled and all of Hell turned against him, Chamus fled to the human world with his tail between his legs. He waited there in a human host, hoping the entire thing would blow over and he would eventually be able to return to Hell. However, due to the fact he was high up on the Hell hierarchy and the Devil knew him personally, demons are constantly sent after him, forcing him to go deeper into hiding or risk being destroyed.
Vehicle: Chamus drives a black 1961 Jaguar E-type. Even in exile from Hell, he still has taste.

Personality: Beau is a friendly man who likes nothing more than an ice cold beer, whiskey, big trucks, women, and getting dirty (literally). Born in the country, he was raised to never back down from a job until it is "good and finished". When he isn't found kicking major demon ass, you can often find him competing at a mudding competition with a beer in his hand and a steering wheel in the other. Living by the mantra "work hard, player harder", Beau has no problem kicking back after a long day of hunting with a couple of friends at a nearby bar.

While the man seems to hit on any sexy little number that waltzes his way, he is very cautious about who he chooses to sleep with--on the account that the woman in question could be a blood sucking vampire, a psychotic creature from the depths of hell or any other number of monsters that could possibly leave him bloodied and void of all bodily contents on a curb somewhere. Well, a guy of his background has to be cautious, right? In fact, while he is a social guy, it is very difficult for him to truly trust anyone he doesn't hunt with--and, even then, he tends to be quite the skeptic.
