On the top of the cliff where the rock touched the sky Grey sat, his legs pulled up to his chest. The wind battered against the loose clothes hanging off his body as the last remnants of civilization he had while his wings were folded against his back, fighting off the bitter cold of the mountain range. A harpy eagle landed beside the boy and cocked its head to the side as it stared at him before calling out. He couldn't understand the birds but the message was clear enough to him. Spreading his wings out, he dove off the cliff with the bird trailing behind him, both in search of something to eat.
