Thousands of years ago, on the world of Dacyira, long before the rise of civilizations. a war was fought between two highly advanced, almost god-like races, the Valkuri, and the Zeltros who descended from the deepest depths of space. Each bringing with them vast armies of various races to fight in their stead.
No one knew what the war was fought for, but most believe it was for power, the Zeltros, being a warmongering race, wanted total control of Dacyira for it's very rare minerals, while the Valkuri wanted to prevent the needless bloodshed that would follow if Dacyira were to fall, while taking the chance to strengthening their own empire.
This war for the planet would wage for nearly a century until the two armies clashed in the final battle over the skies of Dacyira and the ground below. the climatic battle would end in a massive light, caused by a Weapon of destructive proportions of Valkuri creation, was used as a last resort that would end the war, but with a price.
The blast from this weapon killed half the populations of both races, and all those caught in it. the Valkuri and Zeltros on Dacyira were dying, and slowly vanished from the world. all that remained of their legacy were relics, remnants of their technology, and the now stranded subject armies.
Now it is the year 2114 A.C.(After Cataclysm), the former subject races and the natives of Dacyira have advanced at a slow pace, but with the aid of Valkuri and Zeltros technologies left behind from the ancient war, have established their own civilizations. Building grand cities, soaring through the skies in giant airships, and have created even deadlier weapons of war
And such advancements and discoveries led many national rivalries, which escalated to a war of global proportions. the nations of Dacyira are now locked in a series of nearly endless conflicts, who will survive? And who will emerge as the victor?

Yup, races are entirely up to the player. And for the military part. You just provide whatever information about the branches of your military, information about individual soldier types, vehicles, aircraft, ect.
As for the names. Well, let's go with names universally known for the continents. The one to the left of the map is called Sakaris, the the one to the right is Yith, the one under Sakaris is Arlia. And finally, there's Aemer, the Antarctica of the setting.

Note: This nation is kind of a falling soviet union, 1989-1991 style. I'd like it to be enourmous on the map and even more so considering many nations that would have freed itself from the collaps. So I guess any amount of freedom fighter factions and separatists in this nation will be welcome. If interested, it would be fun to have some nations next to be to be old parts of the country that rebelled themselves, the UNV war machine being too weak to reconquer it but still acting high and mighty. (Again, kind of like a 1991 Russia.)
Nation Name: United Nations of Valkur
Government Type: Communist Dictatorship, can be considered a Theocracy as well.
Said to be of the blood of the legendary Valkuri, although the legitimacy of these claims is considered minimal if nonexistent with modern DNA analysis technologies, mainly a group of people with a tendency to congenital diseases due to 3000 years of inbreeding but that still make up the Elite of Valkur, the only occupations worthy of them being either military or high level administration jobs.
One of the lesser races of the Union, during the earlier history they were considered a slave race made to serve but with the growth, they became a major part of the government and now, they are everywhere.
Another lesser race which was an offshoot of the heavy radiations after the Cataclysm, they developed an exoskeleton to protect against the radiations. They were conquered by the Valkikuri with their human armies and assimilated to the realm. They since the Declaration of the Status of National Equality made in Valkur the same equality as humans and other ‘lesser races’, but there is still some racism here and there against them.
Refugees and minor conquered races, some of them meddle better than others since the races than don’t follow a generally humanoid or Natolian ergonomic have a hard time around, simply finding clothes can be very difficult if you aren’t in your community so social mobility is small for these individuals.

The Empire was formed from surviving Valkuri after the cataclysm but they quickly died out a few years, this time however founded the basis of the Valkur nation which followed for the next millennia a deformation of the Valkuri teaching. As it was said, the Valkuri were firm lords that protected those under them against threats with their superior military talents and who sought themselves to bring all other races under their rule to protect them against evil. This was all it thought for the Valkikuri to spend centuries then millennia to spread this belief and to position themselves as ruler of a vast empire. The Valkikuri were in fact decedents of humans Valkuris protected in shelters with them and thus when they got out, had the advantage of the use of their god like weapons which for a century or so before they lost all usefulness allowed to form quickly an empire unopposed with the ‘Sacred artifacts’.
Their society was formed along the idea of constant marshal law, when in great need, the state and the state alone holds the key to all resources. While this was an emergency measure made during the early post cataclysm era, this stayed through time as a core value of the Empire: Everything In the State, Nothing Outside the State, Nothing Against the State. A communist style life was always mandatory.
Modern days brought a toll on the Empire however, with each conquest the Valkikuri, core of the nation, became less and less numerous, holding for itself the task of forming an army and to no other race the right to join it. When the first war of the new era started, it changed everything. The Valkikuri population was obliterated in military disasters and a humiliating peace treaty was made. The Empire couldn’t survive and had to reform, leaving more for the other races and using what it had left of military power to crush those that tried to free themselves from their rule, but even there, a lot managed to free themselves from the grip of the newly formed ‘United Nations of Valkur’.
The Empire that had the habit of just taking everything it wanted from others by force realized it had to reform and perhaps it wouldn’t survive another war like the one it just had. The reforms of course, which were an attempt to slightly open a door, led to that door to burst open without being able to see it close and the very nature of Valkur is changing. The old faith, that of Valkikuri being holder of some greater power being turned into ridicule by archeology and modern science, the new faith, less stiff and more open, that even there most Valkikuri refuse to embrace in the favor of the old one and that other races refuse to accept by pure hate for the regime. With all of this, the now more open borders bombard the nation with foreign influence, culture and products. Valkur is still in a period of change, of that there is no doubt.

Old Model Army:
The bulk of the UNV although they are slowly being phased out to the New Model Army, their main doctrine is reminiscent of the days when everyone in the world thought of the Imperial War machine as unstoppable: Crush the enemy by bombing them into oblivion and then break their back with a frontal assault. The command is extremely centralized and punishes heavily officers that break ranks, on one side this makes the Old Army formidably disciplined and likely to fight to the death in any situation, on the other however personal initiative is frowned upon, even punished, units being separated from the command line tend to simply hold their ground and wait for reinforcements while officers when they see an opening tend to let it pass by, waiting for orders to come down the chain of command.
-G.I.’s (Government Issued or Generic Infantry): The backbone of the army, it uses Kevlar, plastics and ceramics to armor itself against most rifle bullets and shrapnel it may encounter. This soldier is also armed with the I4 battle rifle, which can be used semi or full auto, although the later is rare due to the large punch it packs, making this rifle able to pierce through most of the newer body armors. While well adapted to the Northern climate of the Homeland, soldiers have reported that the superior protection given by this armor isn’t much appreciated in the southern regions, the temperature inside often becoming unbearable.
-Jalbern General Purpose Truck: Transport people from point A to point B, it does that well and has been in use for almost half a century because of it. It has some modifications to make it more useful in combat, sometimes adding an autocannon turret or some AT-missiles, but it essentially remains the same. It’s armor resists bullets well, missiles or other explosives, not so much.
-Alpaca Tank: Conceived to be able to operate anywhere, it does it’s task well and moves well all around the globe although it’s top speed may not be the best and its flanks are also somewhat weak even if it’s front armor can handle most of what is thrown at it. It can also host 6-8 people.
-Darpov Mobile Artillery: Largest gun still in use, it fires a 1.5m projectile at astronomic ranges with a good firing rate due to its reload system, it comes at the considerable drawback that air superiority is almost needed to use this gun since it makes for a very large target for aircrafts. It has also 2 minor laser ‘guns’ to serve as point defense to shot down long range cruise missiles, although missiles with advanced guiding systems can just fly them low, bellow the firing angle of the lasers.
-Troy Anti-Air Unit: Another noticeably old model, the UNV generally relies on total air superiority by fighters, as such the need for AA wasn’t deemed as urgent. This model, while not so good due to last generation missiles against modern aircrafts, still work miracles against helicopters and is often used by the infantry as a large machinegun, pointing it ground level and pressing the trigger.
-Imperial Dragoon: When people are told, both domestic and foreign, that the fancy men in armor with sword and horse escorting the Grand Holders of Power are actually combat units expecting to fight when needed, they can only laugh. Coming of a bygone era, this unit is composed almost exclusively of Valkikuri and hold much authority and privileges, making the ultra conservative organization a real pain for any non Pure Blood.
-Jumpers: The paratroopers of the UNV, they earned in the Rebellions a terrible reputation of being ruthless and merciless toward enemies and civilians alike, they are often used to cut the retreats of armies. During Operation Iceberg in the Rebellions, a time where most of their reputation was made, they cut electricity to cities and villages to prevent them from warning the enemy, in the middle of the winder, causing a great many death, this combined with their habit of shooting on sight on anyone, military or not, that got in their way, was the last nail in the coffin of the Airborn troop’s reputation.
Old Model Air Force:
The UNV never did deal in subtleties, their old airforce was built to first kill anything in the air then proceed to kill anything on the ground, ‘Surgical Strike’ not being a term employed or employable in UNV air raids. It did try to stay away from population, but it did fire bomb a few cities in reprisal, it generally does so when the local population found itself to be uncooperative with the ground forces.
-NRE-03 Retribution: This gigantic high altitude bomber is equipped with a nuclear engine, making it able to stay in the air for months. This makes it the main counter attack force of the UNV since there are always many in the air that are automatically within striking distance of any city or military base in the world.
-H-13 Skycrane: A heavy lifter capable of carrying a tank as well as many soldiers, it was developed during the Rebellions when it was found that the Army had too much land to cover and too much fired to put out all around the Empire, it entered service too late to save the day however. While reasonably good at dodging AA fire from the ground with its flares, it doesn’t fare so well against other aircrafts and particularly gets obliterated by gunships.
-H-107 Stalker: Very agile and with a speed comparing to that of slower planes, the Stalker was made to fly low and undetected before eliminating the targets at his objective in a quick burst of firepower and quickly retreating to rearm. While overall good, it is often commented for its weak sensors meaning that as much it surprises with its low flying it tends to be surprised by other aircrafts as well.
-FM-99 Daze: Fast, powerful and agile, the only thing this otherwise fantastic fighter suffers from is a bad case of paper armor making the rumors about one being shot down by a rebel with his rifle, while false, still believable.
-BM-56 Strato-Bomber: This bomber, while having a great payload and flying at altitudes some fighter don’t even reach comes with the problem to be blind as a mole in close range while only detecting the general position of enemies if it even does detect them with its obsolete equipment.
Old Model Navy:
Now considerably small due to the older vessels being decommissioned by the dozen due to their now obsolete nature, the Old Model always had emphasis on having the biggest guns and armor to overpower the enemy with ease. This surface ship to ship combat is however being questioned more and more, the planes and the ballistic missiles having incomparable fire power and range to a ship. Most remaining ships have been relayed to the role of escorts for the carriers.
-UNVS Juggernaut: The last of the battleships in the Navy. It’s guns are some of the largest on earth and it still serves as the de facto flag ship of the fleet, it however is left to coastal bombardment tasks and in general to look pretty, the admirals rarely deploying this ship outside of official business, it’s impressive size now only making it a bigger target for planes and missiles.
-UNVS Triumph & Undefeated: Two carriers falling under the Old Model, these nuclear powered ships carry 66 aircrafts of all kind and house some amount of AA guns and missiles. While a fast traveler to reach all the semi-independent colonial islands of the UNV around the world quickly, the Triumph class has difficulties making sharp turns in combat, making the nice big ship going in a relatively straight line the perfect target for bombers.
-Frigates, Destroyers, Cruisers & Corvettes: Too numerous in classes to name them all, but in general tend to have more cannons than missiles, giving them an edge in close range but making them lacking in long.
-Cruzar Class Submarines: The only fuel propelled submarines left in operation, it’s small size and silent engine still make it a useful took as a combat submarine or a stalker, although most are being scrapped or sold to foreign powers as time goes on to make place for newer generations.
-Laharl Class Submarines: Also an aged model, this submarine is a ballistic missile carrier along with a combat capable sub, it is nuclear powered and was known during the war to stand perfectly still on the sea floor for weeks until pursuers stopped to chase it rather than to flee.
New Model Army:
While if war has changed is something debatable, what is not is the current geo-political situation of the newly formed UNV. The Empire used to know war all the time, a conquest only making way for another. Now however, Valkur saw a generation of young men that have never fought before and for the most part don’t want to either. The ideal of a massive army and a nation on a perpetual war stance was found to be flawed before and right now to be simply impossible to maintain anyways. The UNV needed a more flexible force that was also less demanding in manpower. This was the answer, the New Model Army. While far from completed, a lot of reforms have already been put to place under the veil of secrecy. This was also a vast disinformation operation, revealing just enough make the enemy fear what the UNV had created, but not enough to accurately guess what it was.
-Squire & Knight: Organics are just that, organic, with their bone, flesh, vulnerability to sickness, need to eat and so forth. To get by this ‘limitation’ and also to get pass the considerably lower recruitment rates for permanent position in the army, new soldiers had to be engineered. While the robotic project originally entered in competition against the genetic one, the Ragaru project was lost during the Rebellions. The squires come under the order of soldiers, generally completing them in their specialties to make them more efficient. While they are in contact with the military network, knights, soldiers of flesh and bones, need to generally micro manage them.
-Agents: While the normal squire is so limited there is no way it would pass for something other than a machine, Agents on the other hand have so much programming in them, answers to questions as well as the ability to assimilate the result of previous experience to give ‘Opinions’ about other things that they blur the line that is the point of sapience. They however have traditionally extremely state based views, when asked for personal belief and morality questions always referring to what would be the ‘Best thing to say’ as said by the state. They serve in the NSB, the personal hand of Mondal, executing traitors, performing counter espionage, advising and serving as body guards to high level officers.
-Assault Suits: Used to pack more punch-per-soldier when full assault is necessary, these suits are surprisingly fast and well protected while having a powerful auto cannon able to gun down tanks and a rocket boost to climb most places.
-Land Raider: An extremely fast IFV armed with an auto-cannon, it carries troops to their destination quickly and while it resists well to conventional explosives, anything with penetrating power generally goes right through its armor however.
-Hedgehog: Built for urban combat, this tank has a thermal sensible electronic coating that makes it detect laser targeting pointed at it, since most modern weapons use range finders that use lasers, it immediately computes the location of the used weapon and sends a suppressing shot, making ambushers bite the dust before they can even shot. Even should they be able to do so, an automated laser interceptor is able to detonate missiles even on short range. All this equipment make the Hedgehog ideal for urban combat to fight off ambush and an extremely powerful defensive tool despite its small size and light armor.
-Cremators: A hoover tank armed with a powerful laser, secondary benefit of the Space Elevator experiments, this tank, while being exceptionally good against land vehicles, tanks, aircrafts and even missiles tends to be lacking resources when facing infantry due to being able to only kill the little soldiers one by one, the laser, while melting pretty much anything, having no explosive power.
-Recon Suits: Also called hoppers, the suit was conceived for scouting and harassment. It’s unique features include it’s moving by prodigious jumps, a railgun to snipe and a magnetic fist also able to generate a short time field that deflects projectiles.
-Kill Team: Used in situation that requires more fire power than the average Squire & Knight duos can put as well as more finesse than the Assault Suit is able, these operatives, along generally with an Agent, are sent in. The best of the best organics can offer along with too much cybernetics and robotics.
New Model Air Force:
Pilots are expensive and long to train which made their deaths unacceptable, which thus added to the robotic focus of the army. Remotely controlled or independent drones have made their apparitions as the new toys of the Air Force and have began replacing the existing air force much faster than any other military field. The new doctrine, rather than focusing on number and how much bomb that can be carried is more axed around stealth and accuracy.
-Luminoth Fighter: The new battery powered Drone fighter/interceptor, it distinguishes itself by its use of hydrogen power cells to propel itself, water being a much more available fuel than gas for the UNV. This allows it to have a good flight time, speed as well as incredible maneuverability, especially at high speed where it’s lack of pilot allows it to take enormous amounts of Gs. It’s main weakness include the ever weak armor as well as a vulnerability to electronic warfare making it engage auto-pilot, making it still work, but much less efficiently than when having a contact with the base.
-White Magpie AWAC: Coming with an entire cryptology lab onboard, this spy plane acts as an AWAC and a relay for the other drones around it. While the scramblers make it seem like an unstoppable machine, the older machinegun however has proven to be very efficient indeed due to the very large and predictable target this mountain is.
-Sikorsky Transport: Replacer of the Skycrane, it does the same job with more speed and using greener technologies. It still uses pilots for the most part to allow for independent decision as to where this plane short land and drop its troops, personal judgment being a thing machines found to have a lack of.
-Minerva Gunship: Drone responsible for supporting the ground troops more directly, its design gives it speed and maneuverability, it however somewhat lacks the storing space for ammunitions and is thus quick to have to return to the base. Like other models, it has somewhat problems to handle damages however and can be threatened by heavy machineguns on the ground.
-Solar Buster: Arguably a wonder weapon to demoralize the enemy since the particle cannon on this plane does that any missile could have done, this plane specializes in dealing with ground targets in precision strikes although larger and less maneuverable planes can sometimes taste the new energy weapon of the UNV.
New Model Navy:
The preparations of the New Model Navy are much less advanced than that of the army and far behind that of the Air Force, ships after all are extremely resource demanding and time consuming to build. The New Model focus, rather than direct and blunt ship to ship combat like the Old Model, on the projection of power, smaller crafts in general being there for interception duty or to carry waves and waves of ballistic missiles while the heavy lifting is done by swarms of planes and swordfishes.
-UNVS Erika: With its sister ship the Solostran under construction, one of the new super carriers of the UNV. This beast is capable of supporting a hundred planes, the drone deign making them more compact, as well as dozens of swordfish micro-submarines. It is mainly an operating base and while disposing of some AA defenses as well as missile scramblers, it isn’t the most armed thing there is. The VTOL design also never gained much popularity in the UNV, all the planes being runway take off models, to maintain said runways in order is extremely important.

-Swordfish Micro-Submarine: Burning through the precious hydrogen fuel at record speed to achieve such record speeds under water, these ‘Submarine fighters’ are actually far deadlier than any sub around. Armed with 2 torpedoes, these tiny things approach other ships to throw at them their payload before retreating, their speed, small size and maneuverability making them excessively hard to stop. Their maximum dive dept however remains extremely limited as is their individual sonar capacity, which is only short ranged, making them blind to most enemies with a minimum of stealth capacity
Established 5 years ago as the void became more and more of a strategic asset on its own, the Void Force also includes non military scientific projects and as Grand Holder Flay is more of a scientific background, scientific projects have taken a major place in the force although innovations made in this sector always eventually benefit the army in the end by byproducts of new ideas.
-UNVVS Hope: The United Nation of Valkur’s Void Ship Hope is the first man carrying vessel that will, if the schedule is respected, be sent to expend Valkur’s influence on an extra lunar planet of Dacyira’s solar system. This vessel contains only scientific equipment and what is required to keep the crew alive and sane during the trip since it is not a sleeper ship.
-Messenger Shuttle: Although less relevant to the Void program due to the Heavenly Tower, the UNV still keeps 4 of its old shuttles in storage for emergency use, the tower after all not being the most resilient structure in case of an attack.
-UNVVS Sailor: Another, much cheaper, vessel made for solar travelling; a previous design was made to send satellites over foreign stellar bodies. It captures the protons emitted by the sun to slowly accelerate in space without the need for an engine. It comes with the noticeable disadvantage however of only allowing one way trips, the sun radiating obviously in only one direction, outward.
-Comet Drop Pod: Able to carry 4 assault suits, this pod can be deployed from Daedalus and land practically anywhere on the planet and ignore AAs along the way. This solution however only allows deployment in areas without fighters or AA in the immediate vicinity, the slightest attack on the shuttle probably throwing it off course and making it crash.
-Void Marines: The security forces of inhabited space station, they are specially trained for space combat, 0-G movement, etc and armed with small Gauss weapons. Powerful enough to puncture armored suits but not damage the hulls of stations to cause impromptus decompressions.
Trade: Valkur tries to remain as independent as possible and due to its communist nature, doesn’t export much either. It’s natural resources however are dwindling and they thus import a significant amount of oil for one thing, they are trying to implement greener technologies to maintain independence and to use lesser materials like the plentiful weak quality Uranium they have.
-Praven: The Capital of the UNV and the official location of the administration of all its branches although it is common knowledge that said administration is in the Alpha Base, it has never fallen in its known existence and as such is a symbol even if otherwise, except for some factories, it holds little strategic importance.
-Alpha Base: The real HQ of the UNV government, containing kilometers of data banks about the surveillance network and the army one. It is buried deep underground to sustain thermonuclear bombardment and possesses equally deeply buried land lines toward close by major military bases.
-Heavenly Tower: Monumental oceanic platform, the tower is in effect the main location of the fleet and is protected by many, many defenses due to the critical and extremely costly nature of the piece of infrastructure on this platform, the UNV’s space elevator. Currently one ‘Light duty’ shaft is operational, but another for heavier lifting into the void is under construction. This platform also houses an airbase and an important factories relating to the assembly of components to be sent up to Daedalus. While well protected, remains the fact that due to the nature of the elevator, a single well placed bomb, if it got through all the means of defense of the platform and the permanently stationed fleet, could cut the carbon line that was links heaven and earth.
-Cornel Island: The quaint and remote location in the middle of lake Cristal, it is home of the Miskatonic University, in other times an institute reserved for the best of the Pure Blood Valkikuri and now for all Valkurians that have the best of abilities. Many technologies are developed and have been developed there and as such it is considered a vital location to keep by the secret services although they worry more about spies than any actual attack. It is also a popular vacation location for high ranking members of the administration, the winds being ideal for boating in such a Nordic location.
-Lagueuse Water Plan: Lake Cristal is the main water reserve of Praven since its underground water reserve ran dry, but Lagueuse, in addition of purifying the waters of the Western heartlands, is by far the largest producer of Hydrogen cells, separating the H2O into fuel. The lost of such a facility would be crippling for the New Model Army, a lot of its vehicle relying on this green energy.
-Seprion Base: In other times a thriving plotting point for the imminent invasion of Xunlai but now the only presence on the south most continent and a research station about climate change and extreme cold technology experiments, it still hold a small air force and a port for warships but nothing like the old days.
-Daedalus Station: Built from the efforts of the UNV, the station right above the Heavenly Tower is by a vast margin the largest space construction made by Dacyira in the past 2000 years since the cataclysm. While most of it is dedicated to scientific purposes, a part is closed to the public and reserved for purely military use, refueling of satellites and stocking of Drop pods.
-Eleanor Station: On a Lagrange point, this station stands. The Sailor Class stellar ship always had considerable limitations, it could only go one way, it had a small acceleration, etc. This station, while also being a research station about the dynamic of lasers, is also a gigantic laser on its own to gently propel the solar sail ships. It is programmed to have within a decade such a station next to Tha'oth to efficiently be able to ferry people and material between the two planets within few short months reliably to a considerably lessened cost in resources.
-First Leap: Made to experiment on how extra-terrestrial colonies would be possible, this moon base experiment on outer space agriculture, helium-3 retrieval and general colonial survival, etc. It’s use however as been considered limited recently and it mainly remains an item of pride, the military is considering reconverting it into something more useful.

Well, the only thing I question really is the weather.
I'm guessing something Canadian?
Also, as an ex-superpower in the north, I'd expect a large chunk of Arctic to be claimed (If somewhat uninhabited) and also some of the Antarctic in the south, because of said ex-superpower status as well, although most likely these claims would be denied by most nations.
Other than that, maybe some islands, bermuda style, semi-independent that didn't wish to leave around the globe?
I would assume yes, for the upper parts of the UNV, it would be more green further below and off the shores.
