Race: Magic eater, or also known as Parasitos mana. (A completely human-looking race that used to serve most ancient kingdoms, but has mostly gone extinct now, Magic eaters are only able to derive nourishment and energy from mana sources, like magical artifacts, mana potions or places with strong magical energy (not any place will do), unlike normal people who have to eat and drink. They are highly magically inclined, even able to drain any mana from artifacts without any special effort. While they can eat and drink without consequence, it will not benefit them either. They could starve to death in a kitchen. They still need to breathe, however.

Magic eaters age depending on how much mana they use to sustain their youth. In addition to that, they are able to utilise magic much higher than expected of their level and continue spellcasting for longer periods, but unlike normal humans or other races, they are draining their own life force (mana, which has supplemented everything) to do so. They certainly have more spellcasting stamina than other mages of the same level, but when they get low on mana, they slowly weaken and eventually die if they run out of mana. One cheap and common mana potion is able to sustain them for a day, if they do nothing strenuous.

More powerful Magic eaters are able to drain mana from others, but it is usually only done to disable the other mage rather than to replenish themselves. They can also be used, if willing, as mana sources for mages that need assistance.

One of their eyes serves as a visual indicator to others on their mana capacity, going from green to red, green meaning full capacity and red meaning close to zero. Magic eaters are magically unable to disguise this trait of theirs. In this case, Raki's left eye does this.)

Appearance:

Raki is about 1.65 metres in height.

Fame: Raki worked as the resident mage on the EMP Splendid (a Emporean warship that did not get the notice about the whole kerfuffle regarding Gladius and Kaganax) throughout the Rebellion, which explored the seas and charted territory. If he was honest about it, he'll say that a lot of magical artifacts belonging to sailors disappeared throughout the trip. He never uses his last name in casual conversation, since those historically inclined may trace his name to the Magic Eaters.

Skills: Raki theoretically has the skills of a mage of level 30, but cannot cast spells at that capacity without a lot of mana potions for more than a few seconds (and survive afterwards), so he's usually just about as strong as his level implies. He prefers to use his rapier, since its more 'efficient' in mana consumption as compared to spell-casting in most cases. He's a decent warrior, but spells are his true talent.

Misc: Raki casts a spell every morning to disguise his race as 'human', which only people of 10 levels higher than him can see through without any special effort.
