That magic system, in my opinion, sounds far too much like every other magic system used in fantasy. Nobody specified that he wanted something unique to this system.

Katakor - Often simply refered to as "The Frozen North", Katakor is a land of harsh, barren mountains ranges, plains and snowfields with small deltas strew across its Western borders, where it meets the Sea of Ghosts. Its harsh landscape has made travel there unpopular, and its inhabitants are some of the strongest, in some cases, most vicsious beings in the world. Its wildlife hearkens back to an era when man was first leaving the caves he called home: Mamoths, giant deer, flightless predatory birds and sabretooth cats are common, in addition to wolves and bears growing to gigantic sizes compared to their Southern kin. Trolls also call this frozen land home, and in most cases dominate the food chain just bellow Man.

Three races inhabit this land: The Orcs, Karands and Morrindum. The Orcs were once a savage, war-like people with little patience for cultural niceties, but in the last millenium have had several radical social and cultural reforms. They are a tall, bulky people strong of arm and spirit, usualy green or brown skinned. They are related to Elves by a common ancestor, but similarities end here. Their ears are pointed, and their noses and jaws are prominant. Their lower incisors are elongated, usualy jutting up past their bottom lip, adding to their bestial appearance. In the days of old, Orcs freely worshiped what they call "The Old Gods", now known today to be Demon Lords, but now they have abandoned the Old Ways in favor of the new, far more trustworthy Human gods of the South. For the most part they have assimilated well into Human and Elven societies, doing their best to eliminate the shame of the Old Ways from their people's past.

The Karands are a Human race from the middle regions of Katakor. Much like the Orcs of old, they worship Demons as gods, but have not abanonded these ways. Even today roving bands of Karandese brigands are a serious problem for the Orcs and kingdoms of the South, pillaging and claiming new stock for slavery and sacrifice to their dark lords. Of the Humans, they are amoung the most hardy and strong, towering over most of their Southern neighbors, and see this as proof of their superiority over them. Light-skinned and darked haired, Karandese warriors often tattoo their faces with black ink to emulate the Demons they worship, and they bear these marks with pride.

The Morrindum are the last of the races in Katator, inhabiting the Eastern lands of the region. They are geneticly related to the Karands, and are generaly even larger than their savage kin, but they are victims. They are generaly considered to be the least intelligent of the Humans, and even the word Morrind is sometimes used in place of "Simpleton". Long ago the Morrind were enslaved by the Karands, kept as slave stock and for sacrifice to the Demon Lords. These generations of oppresion has eliminated most emotion from the Morrind people, save for fear. When they are selected for sacrifice, they typicaly try to run to little success, though there are stories of a few escaping to the Orc strongholds, where they recieve sanctuary and transport to the South. Usualy, however, they are doomed to the life of slaves until called apon by the Karands to die on their blood-soaked altars, leaving little hope for these people.

Yeah...not the best I've ever done.

I'll create an OOC for this thing today and we can get a general idea of what everyone would like to do as a list.

For the proposed magic system, it is indeed very similar to a lot of ones but did have some good ideas that can be put to use. For one point about magic I think it would be cool if magic had a "personality" of some sort as if it's alive and reacts differently for different people. For the races, I'd tend to avoid already created races like elves, trolls, orcs, and the like in favor of a more unique feel to it, like things we've never seen before.

Looks like we got competition for a world creation roleplay, but their's involves more about being gods and the basic races. Just don't confuse the two. I'll be posting my OOC a bit later on (like in a hour or so. I'm working on it right now)

Alright, I think you should assign directors soon, so we can start organizing concepts. I can fill any spot perfectly, or I can be you assistant creative director, considering I think I have a mind for what you want. Of course I'd run all final decisions by you. Once we have the directors, all submitted concepts can be flagged for attention of a specific director via a specific text color or something along those lines. For example if you want to submit a landscape design, you would use, I believe it was red that I used, red to get the attention of the Settings Director, so that directors don't have to worry about every single concept or search through all of them to find those that pertain to their field, and not everyone will be scrambling to figure out if said concept is good, thus avoiding any conflicting interests. Again this is all suggestion.

I'll assign the directors a color to go along with that idea. You can be the assistant creative director

Things you've never seen before, huh? I can probably do that. I'd like to be a Wildlife Concepter. Also, you misspelled "Director."

Need a curse, mutation, or horrible injury for your character? Probably not, but if you do, head on over to Majin's Maledictions!
