Content of the site…?

Hi there!
I'm kind of a newb, and I just joined today, and I was wondering about the 'rating' of this site. PG, PG-13, or R? What is the deal with swearing (does it have to be starred?) and sexually explicit topics (does it have to be faded? Can you use it, but not go into detail?)?

Site Rules

In short, pg-13. Swearing/violence/gore and the like is held to a fairly lenient standard-no reason to censor "crude" language per se.

Sexually explicit is a different story. Keep it clean, as in no detailed descriptions. Let me quote from that link...

Swearing generally is okay, but smut is a no-no around here. If there is sex, it's supposed to be over PMs, but it's fade to black in the public threads. There's an example in the Ask A Comrade thread written by Bela, but it's best to take things to PMs if you do use sex.

Overall rating I'd give it a PG-13 rating, especially since you have to be 13 to join.

Panda was an exception, and Amethyst was handed an OT ban until she was 13.

Actually you do have to be 13. The site doesn't let you in if the birthdate you enter when signing up implies you are younger.

The reason there are members with a younger displayed age is because vBulletin gives people the option to change their birthdate, which totally makes logical sense... [/sarcasm] So they lie about their age (like anyone can) and then change it later.

And like Rose said, underage members tend to get in trouble just for being underage- like Amethyst who became an OT exile.
