    Online Communities

Do you find it sad when they die off?

I used to be a member of an old bustling website that was based around playing games made specifically for the community and the community made levels for the games.

I just logged back on the site today after 2 years of absence and the place is a wasteland. Like five members still log on and not a single administrator only two of the mods.

It's like if I were to log on to RPG tommorow and Mahz and Contra had disappeared taking all the mods with them but Kad and the only members left were Natsume and Clirkus.

I know that feeling. There are a couple of sites that I have been a part of since 2006 or so. I have now become mods on both of them, but they're slowly dying. Most of the mods are active, but the admins have all but disappeared. Its pretty awful knowing we can keep bailing out the water, but without the captain of the sinking ship, we can't patch up the hole.

It's who you are, baby girl.
You see the beauty in everything and everyone no matter where you go.

    Roleplay with me.

I feel as if the admins disappearing always signals a sites death.

I know that feeling. It's horrible... sorry, Jster. Some sites manage to stay afloat for a long time, though.

    You love me?
