    I've got a problem.

I feel like every RP I join either ends up sucking or all the members slow their posting down so much the RP dies. Rarely it's posted TOO much the first day and then everyone who got left behind quits. I've even tried to make my own but they always suck because I guess my ideas are lame.

How can I find an RP that will actually last? I'm tired of not being able to RP, someone help a bored bastard.

I would say the best way to do this is to make sure that the person or people that role play with you understand that you are in the role play for the long term goal and set an agreeable start and end point. Take that extra time to make sure you have all the fine details hammered out in your rp. Maybe even do a series of small rps with your partner building characters that you would like to use in future role plays that way when you go to use them again they already have a rich history and back ground like many of the more popular comic characters. I have been playing with the same person on a different site for just over two years on the same role play because we were looking for something short term and by the time we had realized it was no longer short term we didn't want to stop. Now we play nearly ten characters a piece at any given time. Well thats my advice, hope it helps in some way.

Keep trying? Or try to go through IC's instead of interest checks. If a game in progress has alreadfy survived a couple of months and is still going strong, check the OOC to see if they're still accepting new applicants.

Most RP's die pretty easy, it's shitty but it's true. The offer of RP's greatly outweighs the availability of players and as such people, knowing they can always find another RP, don't put much effort into keeping them alive. If you create an RP and want it to be successful, an important ingredient is to not be a dime a dozen. Give your RP something that is so significantly different that people cannot find it so easily elsewhere. This can be plot, mechanics, a social factor, etc. Just stand out in one way or another.

Another good idea is to look around and/or ask around till you find skilled GMs to join under. They are out there.

Also, make sure that the IC isn't the only interaction between you and the other players. It doesn't have to be OoC thread. Some RPs (including the one you've set to join by HeySeuss) use the Guild IRC server (both alone and together with the OoC thread). No doubt there are other means out there as well.
Get to know your fellow players and interact with them, and the RP is so much more likely to survive.

It might not work but you could try an rp where there are pre-made characters and even if someone drops out you can find someone to take over the role. To keep things going you could require at least one post a day removing players who miss to many days and even limiting the number of posts allowed in a day before everyone has posted a response to keep things interesting for the people that can't be here all the time.

    Just an idea.

I would say keep at it and try to figure out who sticks in RPs for longer than others and try to stick around them and do RPs with people you have seen trying to keep RPs alive.

“Enemies of the Imperium, hear me. You have come here to die. The Immortal Emperor is with us and we are invincible. His soldiers will strike you down. His war machines will crush you under their treads. His mighty guns will bring the very sky crashing down upon you. You cannot win. The Emperor has given us his greatest weapon to wield. So make yourselves ready. We are the Imperial Guard, and your doom is upon you. "
