This story takes place in a fictional town called Graceland, Nebraska, a quiet town surrounded by acres of cornfields where hardly anything happens. Five years ago in 2008, a meteor shower hits the town, destroying a lot of property and buildings in the process. The meteor shower also had another effect on the town; the meteor rocks are filled with a blue alliod unknown to man. This is a radioactive alloid capable of altering genetic code giving human beings and any other living thing strange abilities. After the meteor shower, many people around town claim to have these special abilities after coming in contact with the meteor rocks. All within a five year period, people that have come in contact with the radioactive alloid have developed powers, Graceland has become the capitol of weird, and there had been more crime in the town having to do with people with abilities. A top secret business called Vera Corp. headed by Victor Vera has discovered the meteor rock and gave it a name Xion. This company also has been capturing superpowered beings and testing them like lab rats finding out more about the alloid. There are those that heard of what the rock could do and have purposely came into contact with it. Some inject it into their system with steroids while some liquefy it and tattoo it on their bodies. Now it is 2013, the present, where a series of events are set to occur.
OOC: This RP is based off of the show Smallville, however there will be no Superman or any DC affiliation. This is strictly about a town affected by a meteor shower with strange events occurring.
Xion is the name given to the meteor rock by the Vera Corporation. It is a blue radioactive rock that changes genetic code among contact with living organisms.
Graceland is a small town in Nebraska. It is known to be one of the most boring towns in the country until the meteor shower happened. Now it is known as the freak capitol of the country, or rather the world. There are still bits and pieces of meteor rock all over town and underground. The entire town is surrounded by cornfields and there is only one road in or out. Within the town, there is a Walmart, a food store, a few restaurants, a police station, town hall, a hospital, a movie theatre, a coffee shop, a couple of gas stations, a hotel, several tiny shops that are family owned, an elementary school, a middle school, and a high school called Graceland High. The town mascot is the Ravens. The people are for the most part really nice and keep to themselves. Although they do have a nasty taste in their mouth about meteor infected people due to some of them causing crime. People who have abilities because of the meteor shower are known as "Meteor Freaks." Because of the animosity towards them, people who have powers keep it a secret from everyone. The next place outside of Graceland is the city known as Netropolis, a big city 30 miles outside of town.

2) This RP is PG-16. I do expect profanity but let's not go overboard with it. Any x-rated material goes to PMs.
3) Respect me and your fellow role players. There will be times where people will disagree on something, but try to keep it at a minimum or take it to mails.
4) No Godmodding or Powerplaying. Also no one-liners. This is a high casual RP. One paragraph minimum.
5) You are allowed 2 characters max. Also you are allowed two powers max. These powers MUST be related to each other. Do not have two random powers. (Bad Example: Pyrokinesis and Darkness Manipulation | Good Example: Telekinesis and Telepathy, them being both psychic abilities)

Molecular Manipulation- (Also known as Molecular Telekinesis) The ability to control the speed of molecules, making them slow down to the point they are immobile, or
speeding them up to the point of combustion: Molecular Immobilization- The power to freeze objects' molecules in place. This is a sub-power of Molecular Manipulation. Not to be confused with Time Immobilization. The user can make an object or organism's molecules slow down to the point they freeze in place, giving the appearance of time stopping. They will be capable of freezing select objects, and freezing part of a person whilst leaving the rest of the body in motion. Additionally, the ability will allow them to stop multiple objects at one given time, even freezing an entire scene. People who have been frozen will not remember being frozen after they unfreeze. They just go back to doing what they were doing. This is often referred to as Freezing.
Molecular Combustion- The power to cause molecules to speed up causing the desired target to combust. This is the advancement of Molecular Immobilization and the second sub-power of Molecular Manipulation. Users are able to manipulate the molecules of a desired target so that the molecules begin to rapidly speed up with their movements. This molecule movement causes so much heat and friction that the object or individual that the user was aiming for, combusts or explodes. This is often referred as Blasting or Blowing Up.
Background:
Nathan was born and raised in Graceland, Nebraska. He's hardly every left the town and if he did, it was only to the neighboring city Netropolis. Him and his parents live out in a farmhouse in town taking care of animals and growing crops. However no one ever needed to worry about growing corn since it grew on its own all over town. Graceland is surrounded by cornfields. Nathan was 13 years old when the meteor shower hit the small town. He was on barreling hay into the barn when the rocks started crashing through the roof. The meteor shower had damaged many buildings and put several people in the hospital. Surprisingly, no one was killed. Nathan was found himself buried underneath some rubble and blue meteor rocks. Luckily his mom and dad found him and took him to the hospital. Nothing major was broken but both of his wrists were sprained. Over time, his wrists started to heal but then he noticed he started developing weird powers as did some residents in town. It wasn't just residents, but plants were mutated from the rocks as were animals. Nathan soon discovered that he could control the speed of molecules by gesturing his hands. The very things that were damaged during the meteor shower. Over the course of five years, Vera Corp has been trying to keep this under wraps and taking in people with abilities (also known as Meteor Freaks) against their will and quieting the town about this strange phenomena. Nathan is now 18 and a senior in high school. He has kept his abilities a secret and just wishes to live a normal life. However he feels people have been following him and there have been several instances where he could have sworn he saw a car parked outside of his farmhouse. Little does he know, he is about to be a part of a series of events.
