Yes. U.S. Copyright laws allow you to make one backup copy of software you own. However, that backup copy is "tied" to your original. If you sell or give away your original software, you must destroy your backup copy or package it with the orignal when you sell or give it away. Likewise, you may not sell or give away your backup copy without the original.
Of course, with the advent of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), breaking the copyright protection on a piece of software you own has been made a crime in many cases, so if the software you are backing up implements copyright protection, it may also be illegal.
That refers to MAKING a backup, not downloading it

So, tell me how an N64 game can be tied into a copy that is physically owned when it's been cracked and illegally uploaded to the internet, especially when Nintendo itself is saying that all ROMs of its products are illegally uploaded. It's not like burning a copy of a physical CD you own. You're shooting down your own argument with links you're providing.
You can have another copy :| if he wants to crack his ocarina of time and put it on his computer that's okay :| just as long as he doesn't upload it to the internet or share it... come on bro. I'm saying roms themselves aren't illegal, and if overwatch wants help making one he should have it :|

Considering he was asking where he can download a copy without getting viruses and spyware, that entire counter point is invalid.

Wait so someone asked where they could find a rom on the forum? Whatever arguments you guys are providing, it is a fact that it is illegal to provide links to roms/rom sharing sites on the web, doing so could get the site into trouble.

In the same way ISO's of cd-based video games or .mpegs of movies aren't necessarily themselves illegal, going around downloading them off the internet without their copyright holder's permission is... it's called piracy. Not saying anyone is going to jump up and sue him for it, they rarely ever make any stands against the rom-sharing sites themselves and aren't about to go targetting random pirates. If Overwatch wants a cracked copy of OOT, whatever his excuse is for it not being piracy, maybe he should not be a lazy ass and just use google, instead of risking RPG getting targeted as a pro-piracy site and causing stupid discussions like this one :P

That totally came with my Gamecube. I was actually playing it last summer when I was at a resort in Banff. I was like 1 heart piece a way from getting everything in Majora's Mask.

Indeed. Nothing can replace the classics.

That's funny, because I had bought a gamecube from a pawnshop. Apparently they hadn't bothered to look inside, because when I got home, I realized that there was a NFS game inside. It was like, Fuck yeah. Win.
