    Stalking Death

The time was nearing two, maybe three hours since the sun had set, eight o’clock she believed the humans called it, or very near to in one of the months during the middle of winter. It was cold, one of those days where your breath turned to mist in the air and frost covered the grass, or at least the small stirps alongside the paths of the large city. Clouds covered the moon, what little of it there was, and those clouds were dark and ominous. A burst of lightning and a crack of thunder peeled across the night sky, before the heavens opened and rain, a freezing cold rain, began pouring down.

It was as if heaven itself were angry, and, considering the events that had just transpired, there was a good chance it was. It was true that god wasn’t overly fond of the angels that had descended to earth and bred with humans, creating creatures called nephlim that he wasn't apparently overly fond of either, but still it was always expected he be angry when something would dare to attack one of his grand children, it was things like this that caused natural disasters to occur. No doubt the freezing rain would come for several days after this.

The incident in question, had been an attack on a nephilim, she had been shot, but had managed to escape immediate threat by taking to the sky. Pain shot through the girl’s body and she didn't manage to get far before she plummeted to the ground, a fall that would have killed the unlucky. Ferin, however, had this strange habit of being ridiculously lucky. The fall didn’t kill her, though it did hurt like... well hell, and she heard a concerning snap. Lying on the ground, on the side of the road in pain the girl groaned and struggled for a few moment, slowly pushing herself off the gravel.

She couldn’t afford to stop. Her right wing, usually a beautiful golden colour in the sun, hung limply at her side, broken, useless. Her right arm also hung limp, blood seeping onto her shirt from the bullet wound to the shoulder. She looked around, spotting a shadow across the road and retreated a few hasty steps, limping slightly and letting out a gasp in pain. She felt cold, and was shivering in the rain, and she tried to evaluate how big of a threat they might be, whether she should run or try to stay and... fight? God she was an awful fighter.

That shadow that Ferin had spotted was Jason coming up. He thought he had seen something with wings fall out of the sky. In that case, it was either an angel or a nephilim. They needed to know what was going on down here, otherwise Spawn would take their lives. It would be odd for Jason to save a heavenly creature, considering he was a Necromancer, a creature spawned by the devil himself. Not related, rather he was turned into one. Jason approached the corner, walking like a normal person now so his shadow was just a reflection of himself on the groud. This gave the creature around the corner to hide their wings if they could.
Jason, was wearing a black Aveneged Sevenfold T-Shirt that showed off his muscular arms. He wore a black hoodie over that, which was zipped up part of the way so the DeathBat on his shirt still showed. His dog tags hung down in that gap. Jason wore black skinny jeans, and a spike belt with a skull belt buckle. Then he had on black boxers and black sneakers. He wore all black today, why? Because he ruled the darkness and thrived in it. The only other color was the red streak he had dyed into his hair. If the creature there was truly from heaven, it would sense he was a Necromancer. Not that he was good, because that never showed. Only that he was a creature of the darkness. It would take some convincing to get it not to attack him.

The nephilim froze as she continued to stare down the person walking towards her. Because, for all the darkness he shrouded himself in, he was still human. In an attempt to make him leave her good wing burst out, spreading wide and flapping a few times. Really she was warning him back because she was afraid, but also because it was for his own good. He was dark, but not necessarily evil, and the danger he posed as secondary to that already hunting her. The girl stiffened suddenly, turning slightly as she heard rushing footsteps through the rain. “Look out!” She warned as two shadows dashed past the form across the street, they were lithe, fast, predatory in their movements.

Ferin turned, clutching her shoulder as she pressed her back to the closest wall, which she recognised immediately as a mistake. Pain shot through her wing and shoulder and she forced herself off the wall, but lingered close as the two shadows stopped either side of her, both raising what looked very much like weapons upon the girl. More lightning and thunder boomed overhead. Ferin slowly raised her non-injured arm in a kind of surrender and took a few steps forwards. Her good wing twitched slightly, her flight response going nuts. It was infuriating, knowing her wing was useless, even more so now that it would mean capture.

Jason spun around at the two dark figures walking in the rain. He saw what they were. Resurrected dead. Their souls maintained in their bodies were two deadly figures from human history, Al Capon and Adolf Hitler. Suddenly screams and gunshots erupted across the town. Lightning flashed in the distance, with the thunder later. A figure with a dark cape and glowing green eyes hung off the side of a building. "SOULS OF THE DEAD! TAKE THIS TOWN. DESTROY THE HUMANS!" He yelled out with a dark laugh. His silver chains glimmered in the moonlight.

Jason looked at Ferin. "It's not safe here. I need to get you out of here now. He will kill you for pleasure." Jason spoke. He ran forward and grabbed her wrist. "Come on." Jason said. He looked at the two figures. "Be gone." He ordered and waved his hand. A green aura showed around Jason's hand and the two figures. They disappeared. There it showed what Jason was, a Necromancer. Any creature from heaven that hadnt met Jason before assumed, and with good cause, that a Necromancer was pure evil.

((In the immortal words of Internet memes: well that escalated quickly))

Ferin looked to the shadows before the one who had been across the street suddenly darted forwards and took her wrist, dispelling the shadows and taking off down the street. Every step was agony for the nephilim, pain shooting through her shoulder and jarring her suspected broken wing. Well, she was almost certain that it was broken anyway. If not then probably dislocated, which was still a rather unpleasant experience. After running a couple of blocks she began seeing more shadows, each rather ominous looking. Whether the first pair she had seen had been intentionally sent after her or whether she had just been in the wrong place at the wrong time, which rarely happened to her she was unsure of.

Either way, whatever these shadows seemed to be doing before hand, whatever soul they happened to be terrorizing, they stopped once she got close enough and turned their attention to her. It were as if she was some kind of magnet for these things. There wasn't time to dwell on it though. She was suddenly pulled to the side and brought inside some kind of building, she hadn't had a chance to see what kind. Sinking to the ground, Ferin clutched at her shoulder and closed her eyes slightly. Blood was soaking through the shirt she was wearing and the girl looked worryingly pale. In the light it was easier to make out some of her features, the soft angelic face, the slenderness of her body, those massive golden wings sprouting from her back, her long golden hair. The girl was clearly at least partially angelic. And the boy she was now with was obviously a necromancer.

Jason looked over Ferin. She was gorgeous. He looked around, out the windows to see a person get slammed to the ground and slowly devoured. Spawn was making the dead feed into people's worst fears. A zombie apocalypse. Jason turned Ferin towards him. "I don't care how bad your wing hurts, angel," he said that word as if that kind had tried to kill him, which they have. "But we need no leave now. There is an evil Necromancer out there. He wants to kill everything. Once your wing is fixed, I'm going to need you to contact god. I'm not sure i can fight a war against the devil and win." Jason said to her. He didnt bother asking for her name or anything.

Jason looked at Ferin "lets move before sp-" he said, then the windows shattered in. The figure standing there had glowing green eyes, spiked boots, chains around his waist, a black flowing cape. He looked at the two. "Going somewhere?" Spawn asked. Jason reacted immidatley. "Run now! I'll distract him!" He barked at Ferin. Then charged spawn. Spawn had been expecting an attack and simply raised his hand, a chain whipped out and hit Jason. Knocking him to the ground. Jason slowly stood up. Green aura formed around his hand. "Aid me." He commanded. Suddenly a Tyrannosaurs Rex grabbed spawn in its mouth. Jason scooped Ferin up, holding her like a hero from an action movie. He ran out of the building. "The dinosaur won't hold him for long." He said. He ran and ran, the undead seemed to ignore their presence because of the green glow around Jason. Once out side of the town, far outside, and near an old abandoned station, Jason collapsed on the road, dropping Ferin lightly. He was exaughsted. The fires from the dying town Burned in the distance.

Ferin turned to look at the man as he spoke harshly to her, even the girl's eyes were a pretty golden brown. However when he told her they needed to leave she simply turned her head slightly, trying to ignore him as he asked her to get in contact with god. He thought she was an angel, which was a common misconception. She wondered if he'd so willingly help her if he realised she wasn't what he thought she was, and that she'd be little use to him. He also seemed to greatly underestimate how long it would take for her wing to be useful again. Clearly there were as many rumors of heaven as there were on hell.

For example she thought, if he was a necromancer, that she should be dead by all rights. As the glass shattered inward, however she saw the face of something truly evil. That, along side the sudden appearance of a tyrannosaurus was enough to cause the girl to simply pass out from long overdue shock. When she awoke next she was on a road again, and the necromancer that had helped her was lying exhausted beside her. The girl rolled over, clutching at her shoulder painfully before she reached out and placed a hand gently on his arm, holding it firmly.

He went against everything she had been brought up to believe about necromancers. He had saved her. Clearly there was good in his heart, else he would have been fighting alongside the evil one. Standing, rather painfully, Ferin took the boy and began dragging him off the road. That was all he was really, a boy. He looked little older than she did. Yet he had power far beyond his years. She wasn't sure whether to be afraid of him or to admire him.

Jason was passed out still. The physical movement and everything of that night exaughsted him. Off in the distance the fires increased and an evil laugh was heard across the distance.

"Burn, burn humans. Satan has willed the death of all of your people. To let the dead rise again and rule the planet. Then to march on the gates of heaven and to kill them as well! Go my forces, destroy them! Where are the hellhounds? Send them in to! I want to play fetch with thier bones." He ordered. The voice of spawn still haunting from so far away. It was like nails on a chalkboard, a truly fearful thing to hear.

Ferin looked to the service station and let herself inside, the door was broken so it slid open rather easily and she was able to bring the unconscious necromancer inside. Lying him down the girl sat beside him after closing the doors began gently running her fingers through his hair as she listened to the screams and agony of the souls of the city and that necromancer. Trying to block it out the girl hummed softly to herself, a pleasant tune probably off a radio or somewhere but it was helping to soothe her and drown out the unpleasant noises. Her shoulder burnt the whole night, and the girl could feel herself growing weaker as the land outside began to grow brighter.

It was probably due to the sun coming up, however due to the dark clouds it was impossible to say so. Standing, eventually, Ferin wobbled tediously, managing to catch herself on a wall before she slowly walked out into rain, letting the coldness snap her back to her wits, at least for a moment and wet the blood that had dried on her shirt, which was now more red than the original tan colour it had been. Waiting for a few moments the girl slowly walked back into the station and sat back down. She felt weak, dizzy, no doubt from the loss of blood but there was nothing she could do about it except wait to bleed to death and maybe escape this strange new form of hell.

Jason's eyes slowly fluttered open. He looked around, a bit drowsy from what had just happened. He noticed that Ferin was bleeding. Immidatley he was up and working on her with a first aid kit. He bandaged the wing and set it back into place, surprising that a Necromancer knew the correct placement, and stopped her bleeding. Jason then pulled out some shots that would increase her blood production, so she would replenish on blood faster, and injected Ferin with them.

Jason looked at Ferin after he finished. He collapsed backwards into a chair. "I need to replenish my energy, but I'm too tired to get up and start working on making myself some food." Jason whispered. His eyes were already growing heavy again. He had wiped himself out to save this beautiful girl. "What's your name?" Jason whispered quietly to Ferin. He liked the way she looked and how beautiful she was without seeming to have to try.
