The Hemlock family seems like the best family in town. They're most certainly the richest family in town, at least. Sure, they have family disputes every once in a while but nothing odd or peculiar about them. The family overall is very generous, often giving to different charities and orphanages in London; their home town. The children are lovely and the father is hard working at his business and seems like the father every child longs for. The mother stays home and looks after her children and the house, never doing cleaning however, seeing as she has maids and butlers to do that. But is there something dark in this family? Is there a flaw in this perfect life that the public has yet to discover? Are there secrets in this seemingly perfect family?
The Hemlock's seem like a perfect family with only a few disputes as would be expected. They would seem like a normal family except for the fact that the father is the richest man in all of Great Britain. Why is this, you ask? Well, the family, well more specifically the father, owns a company that makes anything and everything. He sells everything from clothes and sheets to candles. Although, there are secrets about this family. At night screams come from the basement and reporters have never managed to get inside the mansion. Of course, no one can hear these screams except for the people in the house...
On the outside the father seems like a kind man and the perfect father; the kind of father every child wishes to have. He never seems to snap at his children except when they are actually in trouble and he gets them the best of everything. He truly does love his family, almost more than his work. And no, I don't mean his work in his company, I mean his work downstairs, but we'll get that later. He only keeps the company because it supplies him and his family as well as his little science project. The father is a perfectionist, however. He even believes people should be perfect, or at least as perfect as it is possible to achieve. He also has a darker, almost insane side to him that he never shows his family. His wife is the only one who knows of his experiments.
The Science Projects are kept downstairs and their screams are the ones that the children hear at night. He experiments on them to stay the least but not in the way one may expect. These people don't have super powers, in fact, it's far from that. The experiments he has are 'perfected'. He will experiment on one's eyes, muscles, nervous system, bones, and anything else you could imagine, except for their brains and hearts. Although some of the experiments backfire and some may be damaged forever. All of them are kept in small, built in cells to prevent them from escaping. He brings them in by offering something that they needed desperately. It may have been money, a job, or food but he always gets what he wants when he wants it. They were all tricked into coming into the house and from there they were taken to the basement but of course by then he had caused them to pass out so his children never noticed. Now they are trapped in the basement forever and will likely never be free again until they die. Also, there are three types of Science Projects. There are the New Arrivals who have just came to the basement and haven't started the perfecting process yet, there are the Mid-ways who are part way through the perfecting process but not totally perfected yet, and then there are the Completed who are finished with their perfecting process.
The maids and butlers are mostly on the side of the Father and if they aren't then they normally are sent into the basement the night after they are hired. Besides looking after the children and keeping up the house they also help the Father with his little 'science experiments'. They often help him with surgeries and other things as well. They normally keep watch over the people in the basement, giving them food and water and making sure they have clean sheets and pillows and helping them if they are sick, although most wish they would leave them alone when they were sick so they could just die. It would be better than being in the basement and being tortured everyday or so. They do all this because the Father wants to keep the 'science experiments' alive because then he can show them to the world when he's done with them. He says once he is done perfecting them he will show them to the world and prove his perfecting is worthy of recognition and honor and he says that they cannot be perfect if they are starved half-to-death.

If Science Project what stage are they at?: New Arrival
If Science Project what is there physical mutation?: She's only just arrived so she doesn't have any mutations on her yet but when she does she'll have very strong wires put through her body to make her more durable and a bit stronger, although one side affect from this is if she moves or fights for to long she'll be put in extreme pain because of the wires rubbing on her muscles.
Personality (Five detailed sentences at least.): Elizabeth is a very sweet girl. She always looks for the best in people, even when it seems like there is none. She's very intelligent and is very good at reading and writing and mathematics, things that most women at the time aren't educated in and for that she has been cast out from her 'social life' but it's never brought her down or bothered her. She is also very athletic and loves to be active and be outside. She's a very calm person and hardly ever gets angry. Although, she is terrified of the dark and of water, seeing as she almost drowned when she was small and she never got in the water again. She gets intimidated and scared very easily, although she tries to always look happy and strong for others around her so they don't feel bad for her. She always cares for people and always assumes that people are kind on the inside, which is probably why she got stuck in the mansion basement in the first place. She also loves little kids and animals.

If Science Project what is there physical mutation?: N/A
Personality (Five detailed sentences at least.): Eric is a very dark, secretive, and mysterious person. He isn't cold or cruel and hasn't had the bravery yet to go see where the screams are in the basement, although he has been tempted to many times. He doesn't like to see people in pain and hates the screaming. He's a very good older brother to his little sister, in fact he's very good at comforting her during the long nights when the screams won't stop. He's a very suspicious person and would never trust anyone that he doesn't know well, well except for his father. He's not close with his father at all and hardly ever talks to him, knowing that he probably is the cause of the screaming. He will always be suspicious of his father but he doesn't dare question him. Then again he isn't very trustworthy himself but no one pays much attention to that it seems considering he's the talk of all the girls at school it seems. He's very good at reading people's emotions and how to tell their lying and he's caught his father lying to him, his sister, and his mother more than once. He wants to know why his father is lying and he wants to know what he does in the basement exactly and he will do anything to find out.
