Dinosaurs: The Rule of Men has Ended

Ash-Feather paced her cage. She cocked her head every time the scientists walked by, ignoring her but sometimes tossing her a threat. She was being kept for bait at a laboratory, as well as for cruel research. She was a smart little dinosaur, so they ran her through tests like a common rat. She hated it here, the constant taunts and horrible tests to conclude how her species worked...she wondered if she would ever get out. When she heard a laugh from two scientists, she knew something was up. Little did she know, she would get out, but not as she would expect...

As a scientist shoved a small bowl of crickets her way, the starving Shuvuuia couldn't reach the insects, as they were too far beyond her cage. "I prefer larvae anyway...those things are probably too crunchy, like beetles!" She chirped angrily, but then her stomach chimed in, and she knew she had to eat something. She reached her little neck out and tried to grab it with you beak from behind the tight bars, but it was no use. She wasn't eating today. "Son of a..."

Henry looks at the dinosaur in the cage. "You look hungry, not allowed to get near you though, afraid I'll run tests." He walks to the cage that Ash-Feather is in. "After all, who doesn't want to know how dinosaurs blood flows, if they have allergies." He puts his hands on the bars. "If simple viruses will kill them." He lets go for fear of his hands being bitten off. "Of course, just because I'm not allowed to touch you, doesn't mean we can't experiment." Henry leans over her bug food, and puts a simple flu virus on it, in liquid form. He pushes it into her reach. "Eat up."

Ash-Feather noticed he had put something in her food. "..What's the catch?" She mumbled, sniffing at it and looking at Henry. She was about to back away from the food, but hunger drove her on, and she ate a single cricket. She spat it out instantly. She could taste the virus in her food. She could taste it's possible deadliness. Poison tasted bitter, and so did her food.

Ash-Feather chirped angrily at Henry like a flustered eagle chick. She growled, and tried to to reach his hands with her long beak. But it was no use. She was too far from him. After she realized this, she huffed and scratched the ground with her little claws.

"Oh, come one dino, don't you want a nibble, aren't you hungry?" Henry mocks her, "We've got more food, and I've got more viruses to try." Henry puts his hands on the collar of his white lab coat. Not many doctors here sported one, but he always liked the look. He rubs his hand down the top, feeling where it was sewn. "No matter, you'll be hungry eventually." Henry begins walking away, but accidentaly, on purpouse, kicks the bowl of crickets, knocking them all over Ash Feather and her cage.

Ridge Red, or Red, was wary. He knew humans were dangerous, and generally left them alone. But he was forced to wander closer and closer to human settlements, as they were hunting his food, and chasing it off. The darkness helped to hide his body, and he moved as quietly as he could though the buildings. He smelled plenty of food, and soon locked onto a dinosaurian scent, it was a small dinosaur which seemed to be in distress. He loved to eat small things which could not defend themselves. He let out a low growl, and backed up, preparing to smash through the wall with his body.

Roghneck let out a deep holler, the vibrating noise from his throat a war cry, something used only when in distress. He rushed between two trees at a moderate pace, and then turned as quickly as he could to the left, completeing his three-sixty only as the jeep of armed men came within assult range, but their machine was met by Roughneck's spiked tail. The four-by-four was then hurled into the air, barrel-rolling several dozen feet into the air, before crashing into a tree and shattering into a storm of large shrapnel, which infact caused Roughneck to suffer three deep impact wounds, but he succeeded. None of the men and women from the Jeep survived, and he lived another hour, maybe...

Tee planted his foot firmly on the deceased, furry animal that had been killed by several dinosaurs smaller than himself. With a small roar and a charge he had sent them into the bushes, leaving the creature on the ground his to consume. That was what he had to do to survive. Sometimes, if he was lucky, he would get to eat a few of the small dinosaurs as well but at least he had managed to take their kill away. He was still small so he could feed himself this way and survive but as he grew and got larger, he would eventually be able to move past scavenging to hunting large prey himself. Until then, this was how he hunted and survived. The large preyed on the small, that was how things worked. That was simply what he was doing.

Hearing something similar to a roar nearby, the Tyrannosaurus Rex lifted his head and peered into the trees before removing his foot from the dead baby deer. He reached down and grabbed it around the center in his mouth then hurried away, hoping to seek some shelter where he could continue eat his stolen prize. His cave was nearby so that was where he headed, his feet thumping the ground in a manner that frightened off smaller dinosaurs and small mammals alike.

Ash-Feather spat in the scientist's direction as she was covered with poisoned crickets. She growled and shook herself off, but had some minor trouble trying not to preen herself. The liquid her feathers were now covered in would probably hurt her. Preening was an instinct, and to fight instinct was hard for her. But at that moment, she knew she had a savior. She caught the scent of an Allosaurus. It smelled like it was nearby, and judging by the sounds of footsteps she could easily hear since she was so close to the ground, it was about to break in. If she could taunt it then run fast enough, she could finally escape. Maybe even meet up again with that lovely Shuvuuia male that she saw in that cage across the room a while ago. She was in heat, after all.

She couldn't help but make a toothy grin and start squawking as though she was laughing. She was directing her grin at the scientist who had covered her in poison crickets, and she was going to laugh in his face while she could. She needed to run as soon as that Allosaurus smashed her cage, and she would laugh in the oblivious scientist's face as much as possible before then. To the scientists, this was entirely new behavior. She had never shown any sign of joy to them, and this apparently was joy.

Henry walks away, "Noisy one, ain't you?" He picks up a rifle he had been working on, it had the innards of a taser, but shot bullets that makes, with taser prong and electric batteries instead of an actual bullet. "I need to test this dinosaur, mind being my subject, it won't hurt too bad, that's a lie, this could darn near kill a human. Just want to see what it would do to a dinosaur. "What do you say, can I shock you?" He holds his rifle and walks towards her cage.

Razor claw screeches, or roars with a raptor it's rather hard to tell. He knew there was a camp nearby, but didn't know how well he could take out humans alone. So instead, he runs through the fores, over logs, under low hanging branches, until he finds a smaller dinosaur which he immediately pounces on, ripping out it's throat he screeches once more. "Food!" Would be what he had said in English, he lets it bleed out, then sits down to his breakfast.

Red started his charge, he was going to ram into the building and hope to collapse it. His charge started slow, and then built up power. He bent his he'd out of the way and impacted it with his shoulders. When he hit it, it didnt fully collapse, but it shook a great deal, and the walls cracked and bent. He could tell if he rammed it again it would break. So he walked back and prepared for another charge. This time he hissed, and put all his energy into the charge. The puny wall crumbled under his power. He let out a triumphant roar, and looked to see what his prize was.
