So I finally got around to watching "Wreck It Ralph".

Not in a long time have I genuinely laughed out loud at jokies in a movie. Nor have I wanted to tear up due entirely to the nostalgia factor.

But yeah, my niece and nephew came over toting this movie so my sister, mom, dad, and girlfriend sat down and watched it. From somebody whose gaming career started with the original super mario brothers, "Wreck-It Ralph" was just fuggin brilliant. I can't count how many video game jokes and cameos I saw and recognized. The "jumpman and Donkey Kong" characters, the joke with COD and such, the big bunch of interchanging art styles in the credits had me laughing. Yet my dad and I were mainly the only ones laughing other than my niece and nephew. My dad was the one who got me into videogames in the first place. He used to be "digital bros" with Qubert back in the day. My girlfriend is a bit new to the gaming scene and my mother's a bitch that laughs at death and pain that she causes in others.

But honestly, I loved it. It was a fantastic throwback to the old games, back when everything was fun and awesome and not reused over and over and over and over again. My only complaint with the whole flick was not seeing more cameos, to be honest. In the beginning and end of the movie, I was hoping to see Mario pop onto screen, or maybe see an actual scene with Sonic. Seriously, Sonic was on the cover, he should have been in more of the movie. Hell, I wouldn't have mind seeing him chill with Ralph in the bar and talk about how stupid call of dooty is. (lol dooty)

John C. Reily was awesome. Simply put, he was absolutely brilliant and fit Ralph's role perfectly. The same thing goes for Sarah Silverman and Jane Lynch (With a backstory that made about as much sense as COD in it's whole. Lol). I have no clue who Fix It Felix's actor was. He was so low on my radar that I can't even remember his name and I don't even want to bother with googling the movie to find out the name of Felix's actor.

EDIT: Before I forget, Ralph and Vanellope's relationship was really refreshing and awesomenishishness. It was cute in the way that only a videogamer can understand.

I loved the POV they had in the entire movie, where the NPCs are actually PCs and are their own beings. To see things from their point of view is just epic, and I wish that movies would do that more. Hell, if that kind of POV moved into the games themselves and you got to see what the characters we play do when their not on the job. I feel that the movie was held back a bit because the director couldn't get the permissions to certain characters, like Link, Mario, Nathan Drake, Marcus Fenix, and so on and so forth. It would be nice if game companies would let their characters off the leash more often. Make movies a bit more interesting as well.
