You know I use to think that about Christianity too, and when you realize what it's really about, that's not the message it sends. People chose to interpret it this way because truthfully they're close minded morons and don't understand what God is trying to tell them. God is, first and foremost, about love. He loves everyone, he will take anyone in no matter what physical or mental state you're in, weather you're poor or wealthy, gay or straight, with or without disability. He wishes for a world without discrimination and without hostility, that's what he's trying to teach and that's what some people have trouble learning.
Yet he and his prophets and chosen repeatedly state over and over that our sexualities are a sin in their holy scriptures. It is not all close mindedness, it is literal statements in Christianitys one source of "wisdom". I studied theology behind most major religions and I still do becouse Knowledge=power. It is a strong condemnation of homosexuality becouse the bible outright state it is wrong. A lot of the demonization of sexuality can and should be linked directly to organized religion. Homosexuality was not a sin in most acnient civlizations, it was not something you got killed for untill Abrahamic religions rolled in and became prevelant in our society.
