Nah, it'd only be Starship-troopers if the bug picked up a gun and started killing your parents in Buenos Aires for no apparent reason besides competition for post-scarcity resources to ensure the dominance of a species over the universe until heat-death.
Gotta admire them, in a Game of Thrones context sort of way... making the spider's death a bit ironic.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm the worlds biggest pussy [mind my language] when it comes to spiders. I remember 2-3 years ago I spotted a nasty big F'er crawling around my bedroom late at night around...3:00am. I spent an HOUR trying to catch it, it kept going underneath the skirting boards, so I piled clothes on the cracks to prevent it coming back in. I was literally freaking with cold sweats until I finally threw a shoe at the thing.
I really am a pansy when it comes to those eight-legged freaks.
