    We Found Love

    Reserved for newmommy1993.

It was her first day. It was Sadie Tearstone's first day of school at Mystic Falls High School. It was a little bit different than what she expected, but she held her black back pack on her shoulder and ran a hand through her curled red hair and allowed her highlighted eyes to scan the area. She was dress in a black shirt that showed her midriff, and a pair of jeans with heeled booties. She felt really out of place here, but as she walked around, her silver charm bracelet around her wrist, she felt herself slowly heading over towards the principal's office.

Her brown eyes narrowed slightly when she caught the smell of something, and she bumped into someone. "I'm so sorry!" Sadie exclaimed, a bit of an Australian twang coming over her voice. She looked over the boy before her. He looked about her age with dark hair and eyes and a tan complexion. "I'm jus' lookin' for the principal's office." she said, helping the boy up and he looked her over. "Sadie, Sadie Tearstone."

"Tyler Lockwood. Come on, follow me." he said to her, and Sadie nodded a bit and followed him into the principal's office. "So, you're new here?"

"Yeah, jus' go 'ere from New York. Been livin' there with some friends of mine until they 'eaded off. Needed a place to go, and a friend of mine 'as a place around 'ere." she answered. "Am I that obvious?"

"Yeah, you stick out like a sore thumb." he told her and he showed her to the principal's office. "Here you are. See you around, just watch it, might catch some attention."

"Thanks, mate." she said with a small salute and she closed her eyes. She walked into the principal's office and got her schedule before she was told to head home for the day so they could process all of her records entirely, and she sighed, heading off to the local cafe/pub she saw. When she got in there she sat at the bar and looked at the menu.

"What can I get you?" the waiter asked.

"A burger and fries, please. Extra onions." she ordered, "And a coke. Thank you."

It was already going to be a long day. Being back in school for the first time since everything started revolving around the cure. The Miss Mystic Falls pageant had him sore because Elena had told him to move on. He wasn't sure he was ready for it yet, nor was he sure that everyone else was ready for him to be without Elena this way. Everything felt too fresh, far too fresh for his liking, but when he noted a the blonde that had been there for almost the last year and a half, if he could remember correctly, he felt odd. Soon he heard some voices outside of the classroom door and focused in his hearing. A new student. That was suspicious. No one that was new to Mystic Falls anymore wasn't supernatural, and this made Stefan wonder if this one was the same way.

He sighed, trying to focus on his work, but the teacher soon snapped him out of it. "Alright, now for the next week we will be doing projects in groups of two, I have your assigned partners on the board."

Stefan looked up to the chalkboard and next to his name was... Brooklyn Messer? That blonde he had been trying to remember if she had been there all along or not? Well, that was certainly not expected, but at the same time it almost was. Sometimes he wondered if he would ever be paired with someone other than Elena for this stuff, and suddenly he was. A nice change, and Stefan got up and moved by Brooklyn Messer. He offered his hand. "Stefan." he greeted with a smile.

Klaus licked the blood of his lips. The brunette was still dazed, her hand on her neck where the two bleeding puncture marks where. Klaus lifted her head to look him in the eyes. "Alright, love. You were.. delicious. Now, I want you to keep your neck covered, until you're healed. You can go, and keep this to yourself." He said, compelling her. The brunette nodded, wrapping her scarf around her neck, wrapped tightly. Klaus watched her leave. He sighed, rubbing his temples. Rebekah walked by, glancing at her brother as she did so. "Stressful night?" She asked.

Klaus shot her a look. "Just want that cure is all." He said and Rebekah laughed. "Well, good luck finding Katherine. Did you get anything else out of Hayley? Besides the only source we had, which you almost killed." Rebekah said and rolled her eyes. "And before Damon ripped the heart out." She mumbled. "We'll find it. It'll just take some time, is all." He said, flashing his sister a smile. "I'm off to the grill, need a drink." He said. Klaus grabbed up his black leather jacket and left, getting in his black car.

Klaus parked and walked inside the Grill. Really, he was suppose to meet up with Damon, discuss possibilities of where Katherine could possibly be. He sat at the bar, ordering himself some scotch. After they brought him the drink, he nodded towards the bartender and took a sip. Klaus looked over and noticed a familiar face, eating a burger. Klaus could smell the onions. He smirked and looked ahead. "You must be new, I would've remembered your face." Klaus said, turning his head slightly to look at her. "I'm Klaus." He said, taking another sip of scotch.

Brooklyn woke up, dreading the day as always. Her grandmother was out of town for a couple weeks, visiting family or something, so she had the small, one story house to herself for awhile. She woke up that morning, feeling always she always did. She took herself a quick shower. After she was finished, she wrapped the black towel around her figure and started to blow dry her hair. After that was done, she curled it into spirals then put on her undergarments. She put on her make-up before picking her out some clothes to wear.

She got slipped into blue jeans, a blue tank-top and a pink top to go over it. She put on heel boots that reached to her ankles, tying the string securely. She then put a white headband on top of her head. After eating a banana, she grabbed the keys to her green Corolla. It was a ugly car, but very reliable. Her grandmother didn't have a lot of money to spend on extra stuff.

When Brooklyn got to school, she parked her car and went to her locker. "Hey." Bonnie said cheerfully. Brooklyn turned to her good friend and smiled. "Hey, what's up?" Brooklyn said, taking out her chemistry book. "Not much, just exhausted. Shane has me working hard on.. you know." She said. Brooklyn nodded. She didn't agree with what Bonnie was doing, but it wasn't her place to tell her it was a bad idea. They talked for a few minutes before the warning bell rang. Brooklyn waved bye to Bonnie before walking into her chemistry class.

Her eyes met Stefan Salvatore's. She always had a crush on him, but he at the time was dating Elena Gilbert. Sighing softly, Brooklyn took her seat. She listened as the teacher explained a new group project they had to work on. Her eyes widened as she saw who she was paired with. He was always being paired with Elena. After the pairings were decided, she looked up to see Stefan walking towards her. "Brooklyn, but you can call me Brooke." She said with a smile, taking his hand and shaking it.

Sadie smiled when the burger was placed down before her and she crossed her legs before she turned and she saw a British man beside her. Multi-cultural for a small town, that was sure, but the man named Klaus simply received a quick look up and down before Sadie turned to him and took a sip of her coke. She could smell something on him... Something almost familiar. It was sweet, almost, but she shook the idea from her mind. "Always so open with strangers?" she asked him, taking a fry into her mouth and lazily munching on it. Sadie was always suspicious since she left Australia. No one she knew here, at least of the wolves she met, relished in it the way she did, that and there were far more vampires here than there were wolves. Mortal enemy sort of thing.

Her Australian accent definitely got her some attention and soon her eyes made another trip over the man. "Name's Sadie. I don' think you'll be needin' to remember it though. I may not be 'round very long." she said to him before she turned back to her meal and took a large bite of the food in front of her. She set the burger down and she wiped her fingers on the napkin beside her plate. His eyes were still on her, and she brought a hand to her necklace and began fiddling with it. "You know, it's kinda rude to stare?" she said, and she picked up her things and moved further down the bar, eating her meal when she sat back down, but he was still there.

He was handsome... devilishly handsome... which always spelt trouble. It was how her sister's best friend ended up dead, and it was part of the reason her pack had separated in Australia. Of course, all of them were coming to the states, but they separated to find who did it and when New York turned out to be a bust, Sadie went to the next place she heard of a concentration of wolves. That and here there seemed to be room to roam on the full moon in three days time. She just hoped no one found her out before then.

    -&-

Stefan smiled to her and nodded. "Alright, Brooke. So, what are we going to do for this project? I would suggest something, but to be honest, I'll just do whatever is needed of me." he said, and he looked around. Elena wasn't there today, she was in New York with Damon, and right now things just needed to stay calm, but soon the teacher received a call and the whole class began bustling with talk. First off, about how Tyler Lockwood was leaving and how he hadn't been in class for a while, and about how Elena had seemed different... And now about some red haired new girl. Perhaps that was what he heard outside the school. He shook his head and looked to Brooklyn, opening his book and flipping through the pages that some project ideas were on.

No one seemed to be worried about that though. Prom was coming up. Stefan already had a bad feeling about it, but it was still weeks away, and there was still a lot to do between now and then. All he wanted to do was find the cure, and then he wanted to get everything done and over with. He still looked over to Brooklyn. "You're a friend of Bonnie's? She's said something about you before." he asked, finally the name clicked.

Klaus chuckled and shrugged. "Just being friendly, love. That's all." He said. There was definitely something different about her, he could sense it. Klaus listened to her as she told him it was pointless to try and remember her name. He shook his head, taking another small sip of scotch. "Trust me. Mystic Falls isn't the big city, but it is... quaint." He said. Klaus didn't know what it was about this girl. He smiled at her comment, looking down at his drink. "I guess I'm trying to remember your face. You know, in case you did leave. It would be such a pity, leaving I mean." He said and sighed, finishing his scotch.

"I must be going now, Sadie." Klaus said, standing up. He gave the bartender extra money, whispering softly to her, a trance-like stare on her face. After he finished talking to her, Klaus slipped her a piece of paper and gave a small wave of his hand to Sadie before leaving. Klaus shook his head and smiled as he got into the black vehicle, starting it up and heading home. He felt a little hungry now, and needed a small snack. Klaus sent a text to Damon, telling him to meet at the Mikaelson manor instead, what they needed to discuss needed to be private.

The bartender did as the handsome man told her. She took the money, which he was using to pay for the new girls meal. She then walked to the girl named Sadie, giving her the small slip of paper. It had Klaus' number in it, and a small message letting Sadie know to call when she needed a tour guide. The bartender then continued to do her work.

    ~ ~ ~

Brooklyn looked through the project book and found one that seemed easy enough. "How about we determine the thickness of zinc on a piece of galvanized metal?" Brooklyn suggested, glancing up at Stefan. "It seems easy, and not really that hard. Of course, we'll need to work on it some out of school, too." She said softly. Lately, school had just been different. Tyler Lockwood had been gone for awhile, Elena Gilbert hadn't showed up to school in days, rumor has it she ran off with Damn Salvatore, Stefan's older brother. When it came down to it, Brooklyn thought Stefan was better looking. He seemed less dangerous and threatening, too.

Brooklyn was reading through the required materials as she fiddled with her ring on her index finger, spinning it around in circles. It was a ring that belonged to her mother, which Brooklyn inherited after her parents died in a freak accident years ago. She looked up and nodded at Stefan's question. "Yes, Bonnie is one of my close friends." Brooke said with a smile. "Are you two close?" She asked. She knew Bonnie and Elena were close, too, but she never really heard Bonnie talk about Stefan, so she wasn't sure if they got along or not.

Sadie rolled her eyes at the man and when she finished her meal she placed some money down she saw the bartender smile at her. "Oh, it's been paid for." she said, slipping Sadie the slip of paper.

Sadie rolled her eyes and shook her head a bit. "Well, then you're bein' paid twice. Or take my money as a tip." she said, rolling her eyes and finishing off her coke and getting up to leaving, throwing her rucksack over her shoulder. She noticed a sign up sheet on the bar though. "Mystic Falls High School Talent Show. Please 'elp us raise money to fun our Prom this year." she read aloud and she shrugged her shoulders a bit before signing her name up on the sheet and walking out of the Grill.

She couldn't believe how bold Klaus was being. She knew that she wasn't exactly hard on the eyes, she had been told a plethora of comments before and all of them ranged from very pretty to sexy to "totally doable." She sighed, and programmed his number in her phone before she ripped up the piece of paper and tossed it in a nearby trash bin, but before long she heard a whistle, and she rolled her eyes as she headed down the street and into her small studio apartment, she would go out a little later on to have some fun.

Stefan nodded to Brooklyn's idea. "That sounds good to me." he told her and when she asked about Bonnie. He thought a moment. "We didn't get along much at first, but we get along now. I'd do anything for her." he said to Brooklyn. Part of it was because she was the key to finding the cure, and the other part was she could take him down with little trouble. He took down a few notes for the project and he soon heard the PA System kick on.

"Just a few reminders to all students. The Talent Show fundraiser will be taking place tonight, tomorrow night, and Sunday night. For all those who have signed up, if you are willing to do multiple performances, please sign up for them." the announcements began and Stefan rolled his eyes a bit before he noted Caroline jotting down a few notes with Matt in front of them.

"Would you believe Caroline asked me to help set up for this thing? You could help us if you want. We could use all the help we can get." he told her.

Klaus answered the door, greeting Damon. "Isn't it my favorite original hybrid." Damon said sarcastically, walking on inside. "Please. Come in, mate." Klaus said in an annoyed tone. "What is it you wanted to talk to me about? That was so important, I had to leave New York?" Damon said, looking around before facing Klaus. "Where's Elena?" Klaus asked, pouring them both some scotch. "I'm out of bourbon, I know you fancy it more." Klaus said, handing the glass of scotch to Damon. "It'll do." He said. Damon took a sip before he answered Klaus. "She's still in New York. Don't worry, she's with a friend of mine, they have her in control." Damon said, sitting on the couch. "Your turn. Why am I here?" Damon asked.

Klaus sat in front of him, putting his glass down. "We need to find Katherine. If you want Elena to be human so badly, then we need it." Klaus said, Damon looked away from him and Klaus smirked. "You don't want her to be human, do you?" He asked, seeing right through Damon. "I want what she wants." Damon replied simply, starting to get up. "Even if it means her becoming human again. You're scared she'll want Stefan back, I mean the sire bond has obviously been broken. You put that on yourself, though." Klaus said. Damon growled, standing up. "Get to the point." He spat.

Klaus stood up, inching closer to Damon, anger in his eyes as well. "Help me find Katherine, and we can get the cure. We can give the cure to Elena, you get what you want, and so will I." Klaus said. Damon stared intently at him. "Fine. Let me go back to New York, give me a couple more days." Before Klaus could say anything, Damon had flashed out.

She smiled and nodded. "So would I." She said. There was something that seemed off about Stefan Salvatore, but Brooklyn couldn't quite put her hands on it, it felt like a witchy feeling. She wasn't an older witch, she was really only 18, just realizing her powers a couple years ago, Bonnie had been helping her out, and Brooklyn was thankful for that. She listened to the PA announcement. Talent show? She always dreamed, when she was younger, of becoming a dancer. Maybe she could dance at the show? She was good, taking four different dance classes when she was young.

"I'd love to, but I also think I'm going to perform, well, dance." She said softly. "Would you like to go to the Grill with me after school? I can sign-up and we can work on our project a little bit." She said, looking up at him. She really hoped she didn't make herself sound desperate or like it was a date.

Sadie sighed, kicking off her shoes when she got in her apartment and rummaging through her clothes. She just wanted to be ready for the rest of the evening and go out for a walk. With a sigh she stripped out of her clothes, and walked about her apartment in her bra and underwear for a bit, leaving her hair in curls. Finally, she pulled on her yellow dress and denim jacket and slipped into a pair of heeled sandals that matched the color of the small belt around her waist. She smiled and pulled her rucksack over her back again and headed out and down the street.

She smiled, seeing some more teenagers out, and she sighed, looking at the sign on the Grill, so the talent show was a multiple night event? That would be interesting. She didn't mind though, it would give her an outlet to sing, and she rather enjoyed singing. It was her outlet of choice because she couldn't just go wolf at any given time. How she wanted that ability, she wanted to be able to run around, wild and free. The thought left her mind quickly as she went through her phone. She meant to text her sister, Khloe, but instead texted Klaus.

This place is boring... Wish you were here.

After a moment of trying to get the message not to send, it sent and she quickly sent another. Sorry, wrong person.

She rolled her eyes. Oh she was just asking for it, wasn't she.

    -&-

Stefan looked over to Brooklyn and smiled. "Sounds good. I have to head home, but I'll meet you at the Grill when I finish up there. Caroline will probably be there right away, so if you need company while I'm at home, she's there." he said to her, and he heard some more things going on. He knew today was going to be a long day. He was just glad that today was a half a day because of the talent show, so he only had two more classes and then he could head home and do a few things.

"So what should I bring for the project?" he asked, and soon Caroline got up and walked over with a smile.

"So, Rita at the Grill just texted me, and that mystery new girl has signed up for the talent show. We're getting more people up there than we thought, so we may actually have material for all three nights." she said, and she looked to Brooklyn and smiled. "Hello."

"Brooklyn was wanting to sign up for the show." Stefan said, and Caroline pulled out her phone and texted Rita and after a response she smiled.

"Done and done, so you two will be at the Grill after school, right?" she asked.

"Definitely. Have to work on our project a little, but we'll be there." he said, and Caroline nodded.

"Alrighty, see you then." she waved and then headed back to her seat and Stefan looked to Brooklyn.

"Don't mind her. She likes to have everything in order." he told her.

Klaus finished a small glass of scotch when his phone went off. Curious as to who was messaging him, he picked up the phone, opening the message from Sadie. He grinned at her first message, then the one she sent right after. Sure, it wasn't for him, but that didn't mean he couldn't act like he never received the second message. So, to him, she wanted him to meet her at the Grill. He changed into dark jeans and a dark grey cotton shirt, v-neck shaped.

After he sprayed on some cologne and ran a comb through his hair, Klaus headed to the Grill. He got there in no time and parked his car. Before walking inside, Klaus bought a single red rose. He wasn't usually a real gushy guy, but it never hurt to be romantic every now and then, right? After buying a red rose, with a baby blue ribbon tied around it. He then walked across the street, going into the Grill. Klaus smirked as he spotted Sadie, he walked right up behind her, extending his arm out holding the rose. "I'm here now, love." He said with a smile on his face.

    ~ ~ ~

Brooklyn smiled and nodded. "Sounds like a plan to me." She thought for a minute before looking at the required materials. She took a separate piece of paper and wrote half the materials down for him. "Are these okay? I'll get the other half together." She said, sliding the piece of paper to him. She read through the instructions when the pretty blonde cheerleader came up to them. Brooklyn looked up from the book and greeted the blonde with a smile. She dated Tyler Lockwood, so Brooke knew his disappearance saddened her.

"Thanks." Brooke said softly, looking down. Cheerleaders had a way for making her feel self-conscious. They didn't have to say anything, but their looks did the job. Caroline was so beautiful and Brooke wished she looked as good as her, or Elena. She knew she didn't stand a chance against Elena. Dark hair, brown eyes, and an amazing body. Brooklyn had the stereotype blonde hair and blue eyes but she didn't feel like she was that pretty.

"She's nice." Brooke said. They spent the last ten minutes in class in silence, scribbling stuff down. When the bell rang, Brooke gathered everything up in her arm. "I'll see you there." She said and walked out.

The rest of the day went by quickly. After school, Brooklyn went straight home to change. She showered, dried and straightened her hair and then pinned it back with a clip. She found what she wanted to wear instantly, a pink dress with black lace at the top, black belt that went around the middle, and black heels. She applied her pink eyeshadow and clear lipgloss before grabbing her white bag and heading to the Grill.

Brooke walked in and sat down at a table alone. Only very few people had showed up, but Brooke figured more would be around later. There was a pretty red head girl with a man speaking in a British accent sitting up at the bar, him handing her a red rose. How romantic.

Sadie finally got the message sent to her sister, and after a while of texting and her face lighting up, Sadie felt a little bit better. Her sister was a year older than she was and just outside Memphis, Tennessee at the moment. So, if Sadie ever got to missing her too much they could commute and see each other. She had sat up at the bar and paid for some coffee, tasting something god awful in it. Vervain. That just confirmed her suspicions about the town being a vampire hub which made her a public enemy. She noted some teenagers coming in and signing the sheet for the Talent show and she closed her eyes when she heard a voice and she bit her lower lip and turned to see a red rose in her face.

"You jus' don' give up, d'ya?" she asked him, looking down to the rose. "That's tot'ly cliche, by the way." she told him, gently taking the rose from him and sighing a bit before she pulled the ribbon off and handed back the rose. She tied the ribbon around her wrist and gently took the flower back. "But... I s'pose I did ask for this, sendin' you a message meant for my sister and all. So, if you're goin' to stick 'round me, Klaus, you've got to learn two things. One, don' ever pay for my things again, and two, don' get jealous if I talk to other guys." she said to him before she picked up her coffee and took a sip, her face turning downward. "That creamer 'as to be old."

She saw a beautiful blonde heading over and she glared to Klaus. "Klaus." she grumbled before she looked to Sadie. "You must be Sadie Tearstone. I'm Caroline Forbes, the principal said you showed some interest in cheerleading. Not to mention you signed up for the prom committee's talent show. What are you going to do? And will you perform multiple nights if asked?"

"Yeah, tha's me. I am int'rested in cheerleadin' and sure, if you think I'm good 'nough." she smiled, and Caroline's eyes brightened.

"Awesome, I'll come find you two people before you go on so you can pick out your music and everything, and your try out will be Monday." she said, and Sadie nodded before waving her off.

    -&-

Stefan glanced over to Caroline. "She's very nice, just likes for everything to be perfect. Don't be surprised if she has us going on a wild goose chase when we get to the Grill to get things ready for the talent show." he said to her, "She's a really good friend too, been helping me with Elena being gone and I've been helping her with Tyler being gone." he said to her, and soon the day was over and Stefan headed home. He stayed in his clothes from school, and he fed from a blood bag when he got home. It was something he had finally gotten used to with Damon, Caroline, and, he hated to admit it, Klaus' help.

After he tossed the bag in the trash bin, he headed around the house, grabbing the supplies he needed and tossed them in his backpack before he got in his car and headed off into town again. When he got into the Grill, his bag slung over his shoulder, he immediately saw Klaus and a beautiful red haired girl who seemed to not like the taste of the coffee. There was vervain in it because of the town's water supply, but if she could taste it that meant... Stefan quickly set down his bag by Brooklyn. "I'll be right back, I need to give Caroline a message." he said to her with a smile, and he quickly grabbed Caroline and took her out front.

"What's up Stefan? Need me to be your sober coach now?" she asked, and he shook his head.

"You met the new girl?" he asked and she nodded.

"She seems really nice, Klaus seems to have taken a liking to her. He's probably planning to feed on her." she said, texting a few people.

"She's a wolf." he whispered and she looked at him.

"Please, the only wolf that's been in town as a wolf is Hayley and she's long gone by now." she said, but she looked over to Sadie. "But it would explain her behaviors. Tyler said that female werewolves were always weary of males." she admitted. "I'll look into it. I'll be seeing a lot of her. She's trying out for cheerleading."

Stefan nodded and they headed back in and Stefan sat by Brooklyn. "Sorry about that, I ran into her mom on my way over here. Had me tell her not to be out super late cleaning this place up." Stefan told Brooklyn.

Klaus chuckled at her comment. "I'm not a quitter, if I want something, I typically get it. That doesn't mean I don't work for it, though." He said, taking the seat beside her. He glanced up and gave Caroline a warm smile. "Caroline. Looking ravishing today as always." He said. He then looked back towards Sadie. "I like to call it fate." He joked, lips twitching into a smile. He listened to her and sighed, smirking a tad.

"I can't promise the first, love. I'm old-fashioned, a gentleman. As for the next request, I'm typically not the jealous type." He smiled towards her. Klaus knew what was in the creamer, but he wondered if this girl knew. Klaus could tell what she was, but he wondered is Sadie knew about him? He ordered himself glass of scotch. He listened as Caroline and Sadie spoke about cheerleading and the prom committee- typical women stuff. He nodded to Caroline as she walked off.

Klaus could hear Stefan stop Caroline, letting her know Sadie was a wolf. He shook his head and a smile tugged at his lips. He turned his attention back to Sadie. "I love your accent, love. Australian, isn't it?" He asked, taking a sip of his drink.

    ~ ~

Brooklyn looked up and smiled at Stefan, but it turned into a small frown as he walked back off, dragging Caroline outside. Sighing, she looked around the Grill. She had only been in here a few times. She looked towards a bar, where a very pretty girl with red hair and a handsome guy were talking. Brooklyn looked outside the window as Stefan finished talking to Caroline, coming back inside.

She smiled and shook her head. "Don't worry about it.' she said, waving her hands. "So, shall we get started?" She asked, opening up the chemistry book. She read off some instructions and started working on her half of the project, making sure to write her theory down about what she thought would happen. After fifteen minutes of working, she decided to stop for the day. "I'm getting hungry, what about you?" Brooke asked, looking up at Stefan.

She ordered a large plate of fries for the both of them and her a coke. After the waiter took their order, Brooke settled back and sighed. "Stefan, I'm sorry about what happened between Elena and you. It has to be hard. Myself, I never.. well, nevermind." She said, glancing away, blushing. She was about to tell him she had never been in a relationship, so she couldn't know how it felt. Sure, she had crushes, but never been in a relationship with a guy. She had never been kissed, or never been intimate in any way. It wasn't something to just announce.
