The World Ends With Us (Urban Fantasy RP) OOC

When somebody's death comes before their proper time, through unfortunate accident or perhaps murder. They are given a second chance in life. Supernatural beings known as the "Reapers" take up their soul and throw it into a vast competition known as the Reapers Game. The Reapers Game is a survival competition, Players are given some basic tools, and are then expected to accomplish a set of objectives. While participating the Reapers Game, the Players' souls are separate from their bodies, inhabiting a special alternate dimension called the Underground, or UG. Players in the Underground can see everything happening in the world of the living, or the Realground. (RG) However, Players cannot interact with, or be seen by, people in the RG. Except under special circumstances dictated by the Reapers. The UG is also home to the Noise, demon-like entities formed out of negative emotions from the RG. Noise naturally prey on Players, and form the backbone of many Reapers Game challenges.

    Are you going to survive?

Welcome, Honored Players of this Roleplay. If, by some off chance, you have played the Nintendo DS game, The World Ends With You, you should already know everything. I'm running under the assumption you have not, and thus I will be explaining everything about the RP, Setting, Rules, and etc.

In this RP, we take the role of Players in the Reapers Game, naturally. I will also allow some to play as Reapers. We need to form a team, survive the Seven Day Reapers Game, the mysteries of it, and regain our lives. For now, I'd like to keep things somewhat vague, but I'll explain the very basics here in the iCheck.

    Setting

The Reapers Game of course! Specifically, this game is in Manhattan. Therefore all of the players will be from Manhattan in one way or another. The Players will be required to stay together mostly.

    The Reapers

Reapers are not very different from the Players actually, Reapers oversee the game, and appear human, but with skeletal black wings on their back representing their power. Reapers can see and interact with both the RG and UG at their discretion, and most live normal lives in the RG while moderating the Reapers Game. Some Reapers exist to hand out missions, others to serve as obstacles, and there is a group of Reapers at the top who run the entire affair. The GM, or Game Master, is the Reaper who decides on the Missions and most of the specifics of the game. It is also tradition for the Game Master to fight the players as the final mission to win the Game. The Game Master does not have absolute authority, but most don't know who, or what, he answers to. The role of Game Master changes from week to week as well.

    The Players

Players are the souls of those who died prematurely in unfortunate accidents, as stated above they mostly don't interact with the RG, even though they can see it. Players are typically in the range of 14-19 years old. Upon entering the Reapers Game. Players are stripped of all their possessions except their clothes, and issued a basic set of items. A phone, used to issue Missions via text message, and six Pins. Which will be explained in their own section.

    Pins

Pins are your weapons, your tools, your defense against the Noise. Pins are exactly what you think, small round objects you would pin onto your clothes for example. That isn't what they are for though. To Players of the Reaper's Game, Pins are used to manifest "Psychs" or magical powers, if you will. Psychs take on all shapes and sizes, from healing, to pyrokinesis, shooting energy projectiles, or generating blades of energy. Each Pin has it's own Psych tied to it, and a limited amount of energy for that Psych, when the energy is used up, the Pin will fade until it regenerates the energy. (usually a process that takes less than a minute.) Each player is given a different set of six upon entering the game, and more pins may be acquired by ripping them from the Noise. Not everyone can use every pin, though what works for who is entirely random. The six a player is issued will always work for that player however.

    Noise

The Noise are strange monsters that inhabit the UG, appearing as floating graffiti like symbols until they spot a player to feast on, then they transform into a shape resembling a cross between an ordinary animal and graffiti art. Noise can only be defeated by Pin Psychs, and upon destruction, their energy may collapse into a new Pin, though this is somewhat rare.

That's the basic stuff, questions? ask away!
I am looking for around six players. And I want all six to stick around for this RP! We will be getting things off with a bang, no slow starts here, so I hope I can keep everyone's interest to see this through at least one week of Game Time. There are numerous twists and turns abound!

Elements from the original game, such as the Player Pin, Pacts, Imprinting, etc. will be explained as they come. Note do NOT design your character with Pacts in mind if you know the game, they are handled differently here.

Sorta lacking motivation at the moment.

    Name:
    Ava Farrow

    Age:
    16

    Gender:
    Female

    Appearance:

    Biography:
Where am I supposed to start? I don't know. Anyway, I was born in Manhattan. My parents worked a load of jobs--not because we needed the money exactly, but because they were workaholics--so it was pretty much just me and my twin brother, Kyle. We spent most of the time helping out at my uncle's restaurant, cleaning up and taking orders. Not many people would show up there, but atleast we got to use the time to bond a little bit. Uncle Vic was sorta the joker; (laughs) we had a lot of fun with him. When we weren't at the restaurant, we took to the streets to skateboard, or just chill out and smoke pot. Me and Kyle didn't worry too much about school; we already had plans for the future, y'know? I wanted to be a photographer, and he was going to be some rich and famous DJ. We had it all figured out.

After another slow and quiet day at the restaurant, me and Kyle said goodbye to Uncle Vic and grabbed our boards, making sure to take some sandwiches to eat for dinner later on. He always fed us for our hard work, y'know? Said he didn't want to see us go hungry or something. He knew Mom and Dad were never around.

Anyway, we left, playing and teasing and just having fun like we always do. We skated down the road, me on one side and him on the other, and a bunch of cars between us. Kyle winked at me and sped up his pace, which was how I knew that he wanted to race me. I knew that he usually sucked at skateboarding, so I was all confident and stuff. I was going pretty fast, and I can remember everything just being a blur; my mind was completely in the moment. Then I had looked up at the traffic lights ahead, noticing that they had turned red. This was the only thing I saw, before I heard some screeches and a yell. I blacked out after that.

    Personality:
I guess I'm on okay person. I don't think there's real much that stands out about me. I'm kinda shy around cute guys, I like to take snapshots of pretty scenes and things... My mother used to call me the 'witch', and Kyle was her 'angel', so I'm guessing that I'm the eviler one out of us. I can have a temper sometimes, but you don't have to worry about that as long as you don't piss me off. I consider myself real easy to get along with, though. I am competitive; that of which I will admit to. I've kicked the faces in of a few girls who tried to get in between me and a boy I've liked in the past, or tried to make fun of me for my appearance and such. I know I'm not the prettiest, and I know that I'm not the smartest, and sometimes I just don't feel like I'm good enough. Then there are times where my ego can be extremely inflated, haha.

    Third Person Elements:
CAUSE OF DEATH:As you've probably already expected, Ava accidentally rolled out onto the street right as the lights changed, and was hit by a car. The accident was pretty bad, seeming that another car got caught in the middle of it from the opposite direction. Everyone involved in the accident was either greatly injured or killed.

    PINS:

HeatWave: Let's Ava use a whip of fire starting from her fingertips to attack opponents. Image is of three red waves.

SonicBoom: Ava's mouth opens wide to an inhumane amount, and a loud noise is released. At the most, this can cause dizziness and leave opponents confused. The picture is of an ear.

Dasher: Name says it all. This allows Ava to move at a high speed. Image is of a pair of tennis shoes.

Above All: Allow's levitation. Image is of a winged being.

Windmill: Ava flips over onto her hands and spins, legs moving at a dangerously quick rate, almost turning them into human swords of some sort. This an cause anyone nearby to nearly be chopped in half. The image is of a windmill.

Scorned: Ava's skin turns rough and thick, and thorns appear all over her. The image is of a rose.

    THEME SONG:
Lost In The Echo - Linkin Park

Name: My name is Kenneth Pender, but you can call me Ken.
    Age: I'm 17.
Gender: I'm a guy, if the name didn't tip you off.
    Appearance:

I'm average height for my age, not too bulky either. I don't care to do anything with my light brown hair, so it's usually just messy. I've got blue eyes, but I wear contacts that make them a purplish color. Chicks love 'em. Most of the time I wear a white dress shirt and black slim straight jeans, with a silver chain necklace.
    Biography:
There isn't much to say without boring you. When I was little, my family moved around a lot. You know, your average business family. A new deal on one side of the country one week, sometimes another the next. We never bought houses, and stayed in our mobile home most of the time. Don't get me wrong, we weren't destitute or anything, we just never settled down. My dad had a nose for money like a bloodhound does for animals. Mom didn't like it very much, and I never got to make friends for very long. One year, though, we stayed in Tulsa for a while. 'Bout three months or so, which was like an eternity for me. I met my best friend there, a kid named Nick. I was about 13, so we'd go around to the parks and stuff and do all kinds of crap. That was the highlight of my life, those three months. Nick moved to Vermont the week before we headed to Chicago for the umpteenth time. All the days after that sucked pretty bad, because no one could match up to Nick's general awesomeness. His chilled out attitude, care-free demeanor, and cool stories. The guy's breathing was interesting.

We moved and moved and moved, until I had seen most of the East and West coasts. After Boston, Mom left Dad, and I decided to go with her. He got pretty upset, but they didn't separate on bad terms. Mom just couldn't stand the constant upheaval, and I wanted to make some permanent friends. Dad understood, and went on with his job. Mom and I settled in Manhatten, since she loved the area. I went to school, made a few friends, but still no one like Nick. But, and this was probably the most incredible thing, Nick turned up at my high school one day! We talked a little bit, but something changed. Nick had started doing hard drugs, which I wasn't a fan of. He pressured me and pressured me, until eventually I just told him to screw off.

Well, I was walking down the street, looking for a good place to eat. I stepped into a secluded area, where the alley keep you out of sight, for a moment. Then, before I knew it, someone jumped me, and pushed me against the wall. Just barely, I could make out Nick's face, wild and strung out. He was definitely high on who-knows-what. From there, everything goes black...
    Personality:
I'm laid back generally, and don't try to start conflicts. I just think it's a waste of time to actively seek out trouble. When I get mad, I get furious. Kind of like all the pent up rage just pops like a champagne bottle. But, otherwise, I'll try to warm up to you, get to know you better. No matter who you are.

    Third person elements

Cause of Death: Ken's former friend Nick, while strung out on a drug cocktail, assaulted Ken and stabbed him repeatedly in the stomach.
    Pins:
Around The World:fires a boomerang Patrol Round. Pin is black with an image of the Earth, and a green arrow going around it. 3 uses before reboot.

And All The King's Men: Summons a blue blade of light to slash at an opponent in melee range. Pin is yellow-gold with a sword on it. There is a white crown hanging on the sword's blade. 5 uses before reboot.

Sky is Falling: Ken teleports above an enemy, and stomps on their head. Pin is black with a blue fragment design on it. 2 uses before reboot.

Through Fire and Flame: Launches a ball of fire. Pin has orange and red zig-zags on a yellow background.

Triage: Heals Ken and slightly. Pin has a white background with a simple medical cross on it. 1 use per fight.

Scarred Heart: Ken delivers a powerful kick to his foe. Pin is black with an image of a red heart with white scratches all over it. 2 uses before reboot.

    Theme Song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0EVEXX9kpk

Not sure if I had to include number of uses, but I did just in case.

Love it Fallout, nice names too. I'm poor with naming Pins XD

My CS could be up any time between now and tomorrow. Depends on where my inspiration goes.
