Take My Love, Take My Land (IC)

Sparrow's didn't tend to stay on the market for too long, known for carrying useful parts as well as being fast for a freighter. Liberty was nearly the same case when Dex found her on Malcolm's Shadow having hardly caught dust since being purchased by used ship dealer and he felt a connection the moment he laid eyes on her. Her paint job was what caught his eye with all the colors she was a piece of art, excluding the graffiti. He told his plans to Zee and the man didn't seem to mind, he seemed to take some pleasure out of the idea and after hiring Bosco they landed here in Persephone. The lively port was bustling with people, tongues from English to Chinese mouthing off demands and comments, so many moving people in one place made him feel crowded and he hadn't even stepped out the back of Liberty yet. Dex looked over at Bosco who was rocking back and forth from heal to toe, stopping when he noticed the captain looking at him.

"Yeah Cap?" Bosco asked, feeling he was going to be addressed with the way he looked.

"You think you can get us stocked up on supplies with what we have?" He handed the sack of chips to the pilot who weighed it and gave the captain a worried look, Dex returned the look with an annoyed one.

"Where are we headed? I hope it somewhere nearby" He glared as Bosco for a moment "Bùyào wǒ fēngle, I'll get what I can... lets hope someone wants a fair to where ever you are going." Bosco took the money and jumped into the Mule, slowly pushing his way through the crowd and disappearing around the corner.

Dex set up their sign for Liberty's next destination, the sign reading "TO: Red Rivet". Dex sat a seat up on the landing pad and wondered how to get started in illegal business like smuggling.

Jimmy had taken a ship to Persephone on a whim, sadly the captain didn't take kindly to his wishes to stay on board as a semi-permanent passenger. He found it kind of odd considering he had plenty of money both is Alliance Credits and Platinum. He could have paid the fare for anywhere. Maybe that captain just took offense to a silly little prank he played on him out of boredom. He was kind of asking for it by sleeping on a chair in the kitchen. The whip cream prank was priceless though. A little cliche, yes, but classics are hard to kill.

Here he was, standing at the port and looking at the dozens of options. Most of the ships were going places he knew: Osiris, Belpheron, Hera, and a few others were going to places he didn't know: Red Rivet, Greenleaf, and Ezra. He wanted to see the places he didn't know. He raised a hand and began pointing at each one in intervals whilst saying. "Eeny meeny miney mo..." His finger stopped pointing at Red Rivet. He felt a bit proud of himself for finding a destination and began heading to the handsome fellow standing near the sign. Behind him, Jimmy dragged his luggage. He adjusted his sword, the Mother's shoulder strap as he smiled at the man. "Hello there, good sir, my name is James Victor, you may call me Jimmy. I happen to be looking for passage to Red Rivet. I'm kind of a professional tourist, so I like to go places I haven't ever been. I can certainly say that this is a place I haven't been." He scratched the back of his head as he laughed at his situation. "I most certainly can pay the fare, but I was wondering if I could perhaps place myself as a... erm... semi-permanent passenger. I can pay whatever you feel is fair for your space." He gave a hopeful grin.

Aphrodite had made up her mind when she had to refuse another client who was dangerously in love with her, she was leaving.
She knew she could go anywhere she wanted and set up once again but then once more she'd find that another man or woman had fallen in love with her.. No it would be better to keep moving and seeking to perform for a new clientele every few months.
Aphrodite was a muse trained to perform the arts and even her name reflected the esteem she was held in by the Muses.
As she walked among the ships that were hawking for passengers a colorful hand painted umbrella resting on her shoulder see measured each ship by it's condition and the Hawker.. Following behind her were four strong trustworthy young men with her luggage straining at the heavy task.
She smiled as she spotted the most colorful ship she'd ever seen, it was red, blue and silver with a rising sun on it's wings.
This must be studied more closely she says with a smile
As she walks towards the ship crew from nearby ships gape in stunned silence.
Her movements are almost a mirror of a hunting cat., her expression serene.
She spied a man relaxed on the ramp and set her course towards him.
Her clothing and volume of luggage marked her as a woman of no small wealth who could do better for transport but she stopped at the foot of the ramp and admired the raw colors of the ship as if she admired a painting in a museum.
Sorry all my friends but I had to run to Peru where my uncle was working a dig.
His plane was lost in the Cordillera Negra in the Ancash Region Andes. Thank the Lord and Lady he was found safe though slightly injured.
Sorry I left so abruptly and without leaving a message

Persephone had been her home all her life. But Daisy could not stay anymore. There was nothing left for her here. The shop was gone, the jobs had dried up, and she knew it was time to seek brighter pastures. Unless the damn Alliance had dried it all up. She had no idea what was beyond the atmosphere here, and now she was seeking a ship to take her out of here.

All she had on her was a few Platinum and some clothes in a backpack slung on one shoulder. She didn't have big luggage anymore. It wasn't much, but it was enough. Maybe she could get her hands on some other clothes later. If she could afford it.

As she looked around at the ships, she looked for places she had heard the least amount of stories about. Her gaze fell on a colorful ship bound for Red Rivet, but a companion and a thin blonde man were already there. She had no idea how many passengers they were seeking, or if she'd be any use. Almost meekly, she approached the ship and waited for the two who got there first to speak and earn their passage. It was only fair.

When they finally wrapped up their business, however long this took, she finally told the man "It's a beautiful ship you have here. I've worked on one or two of these. They're well put together and fun to take care of." she told him with a smile.

Mills descended the ramp, his arms covered in grease from mid-bicep to the ends of his fingers. He wiped a stray strand of hair out of his eyes, and succeeded in smearing a daub of grease across his forehead. Working his hands with the rag he pulled from his belt, he took in the surroundings: squalor. But it was colorful squalor. All walks came to Persephone, and there was certainly a good cross-section here on the docks today. Slummers, tech-heads, merchants, doxies, droppers, Leng xue za zhong... they were all here, and in fine form. Mills caught sight of Bosco walking off thru the crowd, and made his way over to the edge of the ramp.

Lao Ban -- we takin' on ballast? Could do with one who knows their way around that Jing cai FTL drive...

Seems one or two had spoken to Dex already -- a well-dressed bloke and what looked to be an honest-to-what-in-the-three-suns-is-she-doing-here Companion? -- but it was the voice of the third arrival that caught Mills' attention.

Say you've crewed aboard a bird like this'un, sister? Reckon you've got the knowin' of the ventral thrust vectoring?

Dex watched the man approach, admiring how he carried a sword around with as if ready to duel with someone over a beautiful woman. Dex nodded as he listened to Jimmy explain his situation and interest in staying on their ship as a professional tourist. Dex stayed seated as he spoke with Jimmy, he preferred to relax for now before the mayhem began.

"Jimmy, I will let you in as a tenant and you can pay regular rent, I am sure we will agree on a decent price, and you will be welcomed at our dining table every night. I cook a decent meal, even with protein, not to mention the left over crops from my ranch." He gave the man a grin, he seemed decent enough folk "Take your bags in there, hang your sword in a room you like and we will work out your rent situation."

Sure enough the beautiful woman to be dueled for arrived in the corner of his eye, she was well dressed and followed by a gaggle of servant with her matched luggage. He was moments from addressing her when another woman caught his ear, admiring his ship and mentioning she had worked on a few, now she had his full attention.

"Worked on a few Sparrows have you? Wouldn't happen to have a bit more fun then would you? Maybe work on the ship afterward." he chuckled a bit before getting back on track "Name's Dex, Captain Dex."

Jimmy gave the man an even bigger grin. "Sounds like we've got ourselves a deal. I'll find myself a nice proper spot and we'll get to those rental details later." He glanced over to the beautiful woman that would make any man's day better just by looking at her. "Well, looks like you've got your hands full here. I'll leave the two of you to doin' business."

As he ascended the ramp he noticed the other man descending it and gave a short salute and a quick but friendly greeting and left him to his conversation with the lady that clearly had an interest in the vessel. He wandered the ship looking for a decent and empty room. He found one after some time and found a good place to hang the Mother. "You're a beaut." This was something that he told the sword every time he put her down somewhere. He only had to use her a few times, but he had fallen in love with her since he first saw her. He won her in a gamble and hasn't let go of her since.

He was excited and looking forward to continuing his adventure.

The man, calling himself Captain now, finally gave her his full attention. "My name's Daisy. Daisy Lane. I see you're headed for Red Rivet. If you need a mechanic, or just have some room for me, I'd like to come along. I have some Platinum if you'd like it, and I ran a mechanic shop by myself for a few years, but that closed recently because of funding. I'm really good at it though. My dad taught me." She smiled with pride at the memories of her father first teaching her how to fix and build things. Her father adored her, especially since she was the only family he had now. She wished he could come home. But given the Alliance's reputation, he probably never was.

A sly grin slid across Morgan’s face as she laid her cards down. The disappointed sighs of the men around her was almost music to her ears. “Sorry boys, maybe next time?” She said with a slight hint of teasing as she scooped the money off of the table. She had been passing the time playing cards with some new friends she had made recently. One the gentleman smiled at her. “You are lucky we like you so much girl, you are robbing us blind” Morgan smiled slightly as she packed up her bag and turned for the door. “I am a lucky girl indeed” She said sweetly as she waved goodbye and made her way out of the bar.

Morgan has been on Persephone for what felt like forever now. In all actuality it had probably on been a couple weeks but Morgan was ready to move on. She made her way through the city eventually making over towards the docks. She had a couple bags with her just in case she found a crew that would be willing to take another bodyguard on. She wore a green dress and cowboy boots. Her outfit made her seem a little out of place but she didn’t really mind though.

As she arrived in the docks her eyes almost immediately fell to Liberty. It was definitely an interesting ship. Morgan loved the colors and more importantly, she could see herself on it.
She padded down her dress slightly and made her way over towards the ship. It seemed to have already gathered quite a few people. She noted a rather beautiful woman, beautiful enough to be a companion. Then a couple, rugged, but handsome men. She smiled softly as she approached the crowd. She looked at the man who was obviously the captain. “Hello dearie, my name is Morgan Blackmoon. I just happen to be looking for a crew to join up with. You think you can use some extra protection? I’m tougher than I look” She said, grinning slightly.

Aphrodite continued her observation of the ship knowing it best that she not seem as though she were waiting in a que.
She knew it seemed vain to always practice her art and her art was beauty dedicated to the Goddess for which she'd been named but did she not she would simply be like other women, female.
It amused her to think that many thought all she had to offer was after all what every woman possessed. Few grasped that hers was an art that had been practiced long before man even knew how to fly. She could not de nigh that yes she was skilled in the sensual arts but even then a skilled whore could match and even surpass her. No Aphrodite was beyond the mere art of flesh for her every action was art. How she spoke, how she walked, sang or simply smiled was proof that she was rare in the filthy worlds man called home.
Behind her the porters relaxed now relieved of their burden and though her pay was good hoped they had reached the end of their labors.
With a grace given her by countless hours of practice since a young age she turned to the porters.
Thank you good men, please accept this as payment for your toil for I am at my journeys end she said as coin appeared in her left hand as if by magic.
The men stood a few moments blinking with puzzled expressions before taking their pay.
As they walked away she returned to admiring the ship
Liberty, what a good omen she says as she spins her umbrella slowly causing the bright colors of it's surface to flash in the sunlight.
