Ferin shivered at the very thought. "I don't do well with cold." She admitted as she turned to look at her wings as they gave a small flap. "The cold weather makes it hard to fly. I tend to get cold very easily and it slows me down." She took another sip of the tea. "That's why I came here in the first place, it's always warm. Even in the winter it gets a little cold but never snows. Or very rarely. Though I'd love to live somewhere nice and quiet where there were no people and I have space to stretch my wings and fly as much as I like. I can't do it here too much because even though people can't see my wings a flying person is still strange."

“Denmark...” Ferin paused for a moment as she thought, but couldn’t picture the place in her mind. “I’ve never been to Denmark before, or overseas for that matter. Then again I suppose it wouldn’t be hard for me to get there... maybe really exhausting though.” She laughed as she indicated to her wings with a bit of a giggle, implying she wouldn’t really fly over the oceans. “So... Amas...” She began uncertainly. “Is it weird having both werewolf and amas children?”
"Not at all. My brother and father were werewolves, and my sisters and mother were Amas. In fact... you might get a chance to meet my dear old dad sometime, he prowls around often, keeping an eye on Charon."

Ferin’s eyes widened slightly in surprise at the statement and she found herself looking over her shoulder as if the werewolf in question might have been right behind her at that very moment. “I can’t say I’ve seen him.” She said cautiously, a new element in her voice, kind of like a fear almost. “So... does the werewolf or Amas gene tend to favour a specific gender? I could be mistaken but it sounds a little like it tends to favour the male side. I’ve heard of some genes that favour one gender over another...”
"They do. With Amas and werewolves, or werewolves and humans as it used to happen long, long ago, boys were usually the werewolves," Elena nodded. "Charon was one of those rare exceptions, but he's still got a lot of werewolf in him."

Ferin nodded slightly as she looked down for a moment. “At least he and his relatives get along.” She said, taking another sad turn before she quickly shook her head. “What I mean is... the raven mockers, what are essentially our half brothers and sisters, can’t stand us. We fight like... well like those vampires and werewolves. Nephilim are the offspring of angels and humans. However after... um... confessing their love to humans angels become demons. If they have more children they become raven mockers. And they think we drain the goodness out of people. They’d probably try to kill s if they got the chance.” Pausing for a moment she quickly shook her head again. “But enough about that. You said Charon had a lot of werewolf in him. What do you mean by that exactly?”
Elena's concerned look at Ferin's words faded as Ferin asked her question, knowing the girl didn't want to think about such things, and she offered another smile. "Charon is essentially a werewolf who can't take werewolf form. He's got the hearing, the sight, the scent, everything, but without a werewolf form. Oftentimes, he could outdo even the best of the werewolves where we came from."

Ferin nodded slightly, still struggling to figure out the difference between amas and werewolves. She had thought they were just the same but one could change one couldn’t. Now it seemed that amas didn't have the scenes of werewolves. Then they maybe had something else... higher intelligence maybe? He had said that amas had been very intelligent. “He certainly is a very special boy isn’t he?” She said brightly. “Oh... Charon had never heard of raven mockers before I mentioned them... had you?” The girl was jumping back and forth between topics very quickly, but that was just the way she was.
Elena only smiled at Ferin's mannerisms. She was like a nervous little bird, hopping here and there fast as you like. "I had... not much, but a bit. My husband once fought one, though the details were never clear to me."
