The Eternal Night (Silyan and RangingWolf)

It was a normal day for Elijah. He went through his daily routine with ease as always. First he would get out of his bed then he would make his bed. After that he would go the bathroom for even vampires had to piss if they drank to much normal liquids. After that he would go into the kitchen and fix himself some nice and warm blood, he would then drink said blood. Once done he would take a nice and warm shower; after the shower he would brush his teeth making sure they kept there nice whiteness. Then once all those were done he would dress himself for the day. Today he planned on wearing a nice casual suit to work. For some odd reason he liked suits with dark blue jeans. Once dressed Elijah grabbed his keys, wallet, phone and anything else he might need for the day. Walking out of his house Elijah closed and locked the door. Once out of his house Elijah began to talk to his store. He could drive but since it wasn't that far of a walk he decided against it. Instead he would walk to his book store. Leaving his house behind Elijah started his fifteen or so minute walk to work.

Ashlyn had woken up early that morning, around four or five am. The dark and cool morning air and atmosphere always felt nice to her. She had taken a shower and changed, doing a simple everyday braid as always. She had a bunch of errands to get done today, so there was no time for breakfast.

It was average time for people to start getting on for their lives, Ashlyn was in the bookstore, discussing something with the young clerk girl. Ashlyn sighed, rolling her eyes. "It's fine hun. Don't worry. I totally get it. It's not your fault the owner is an ass." She sighed, smiling at the girl weakly before turning around. "I'll just browse through some of the books for a bit." She sighed. This was the third job that had declined her application, amd it was a simple bookstore! Sure, she had a good portion of moneg from some of her paintings and other things but she needed a steady source of income.

Elijah was enjoying his walk to work. For some peculiar reason he always loved working at a bookstore he never knew way. Though he did know that he would have to leave town in a few years and move someplace else, since he aged at around 1/15th the rate humans do. After walking for fifteen minutes Elijah arrived at his destination his book store. Walking inside the store he could see a few customers and the one one employee working at the time. The other person that was working at the time was one of the young girls that worked there. Elijah gave a small nod greeting her. As he walked in the store. Elijah approached the counter. "Morning Evoni." Elijah said cheerfully while smiling a pleasant smile. The young employee returned the smile. "Morning Boss. How are you today?" She asked. "I'm doing great. Actually had a good night of sleep for the first time in forever. How about you?" Elijah asked. The young girl finished checking out a customer then turned her attention back to her boss. "That's good. I'm doing good today also." She replied dreamily. Elijah grinned, for some reason most of the people who had worked for him had fallen for him at some point or another, perhaps it was his vampiric charm. "That's good. Any more applications that need to be checked?" Elijah asked. The young shook her head. "Nope none currently." She replied back. Elijah made a sound that sounded along the lines of hmmmm. "Here I'll take over the cashier position for awhile, why don't you go and sort some of the books and make sure they get to the correct places." Elijah said. The took a step back and started to do what Elijah suggested. "Sure thing Boss." Was her response. Elijah then took over her place as being the cashier.

Ashlyn had wandered off to the back of the store, browsing some of the fantasy fiction books, and looking at a few art history ones. After a while more, she had grabbed several books, smiling faintly. Some of her hair had fallen into her face, framing it. She sauntered back to the check out, to see that the girl from before was gone. The new man behind the counter looked familiar. Ashlyn thought about it for a moment before realizing who he was, and rolling her eyes. Silently, she walked to the counter and gently placed the books down, staring at their covers.

Elijah had been standing around the cash register for a few minutes, till the first person that came up was a young girl. She had several books some fantasy books. Elijah smiled and went over to the cash register for he was sitting at a small table a few feet from it. "Morning Miss. Did you find everything okay?" He asks her. Elijah put in his code to login into the system, then he opened up the buy window. After that was done he started to scan the items. "Seems like you like fantasy style books. I love them, along with science fiction. Well most generally I like anything fiction." Elijah said while he continued to scan the items.

"Yes I did. Thank you." Ashlyn muttered quietly, her paintless finger nails tapped at the counter, making a quiet beat. "It's a nice way to distract myself. Also a nice way to brain storm some ideas for my own stories." She said, nibbling on her lip softly. Ashlyn's eyes finally looked up to Elijah's face and she stared for a moment, he was quite good-looking, well really good-looking. She stared for a minute straight before realizing what she was doing and becoming a faint red, her eyes quickly shifting their attention to her flats. Just be a weird little stalker and stare at the guy who denied your app then Ash. She scolded herself.

Elijah continued to check out her items. "I agree. I'm a very fast reader, so I usually have to have several books to read at once, if I have only one I'll finish it in a very short amount of time." Elijah said finishing up scanning her items, after that was done he brought up the total amount that was due. "Okay your total will be $41.24." Elijah said then he remembered her comment about writing stories. "What types of books do you write?" Elijah asked he was somewhat intrigued on what her books would be like.

Ashlyn nodded at him, "Thank you." She said, gathering the books into her large hand bag. That was one reason why she usually wore larger shoulder bags, they carried more, and the other reason was simply because she liked them. She blinked at his question and shrugged, "A mix. Some poetry some fantasy. Some are just about art styles. Although I've never really been able to hold on to one story for too long." She sighed with a disappointed look. "I'm currently writing about a young girl whose brought into a world full of magic. It's not the best but it's decent enough." Shw shrugged.

Elijah nodded his head. "I've tried to write but alas I'm no good." He said with a grin. "It sounds to me that you can write pretty good. Your current book sounds interesting enough. When you finish it or if you have finished books already. Bring down here sometime, I'll read them and if I like them, I'll sell them. We'd both earn a profit, plus I'm always looking for local authors." Elijah finished. He looked around and saw that the young girl Evoni was still working on sorting and placing the books. 'good it'll take her awhile.' Elijah thought, he then turned his attention back to the young girl in front of him.

Ashlyn couldn't help it when she grinned widely, this was a miracle. She actually had a chance to publish something. Maybe he's not such an ass, She thought. "Ok. I'll be sure of it." She said, nodding . She had gotten all her books and bit her lip for a minute, thinking about whether to give him her number, totally just for business purposes. Totally. She thought. "Uh....I guess I'll give you my number so you can call about it. And everything..." She mumbled, digging through her purse. She grabbed a pen and scrap of paper before scribbling down her number and sliding it to him.
