    Space combat simulator virtuality game

(Inspired by Eve online, I game I haven't played but it looks cool)

In the future a virtual reality MMORPG game centered around space combat, from small fighters to even larger ships/ space stations, has come out only a month ago. In such a short amount of time it has gathered a massive fan base and is rising up the charts to be the number 1 game of all time. The game was originally designed by a government to test potential space combat scenarios, but had been released to the public. It's completely "realistic", both in graphics, immersion (making people feel like they're actually there, without pain off course), and with a battle system where fighting takes place how it actually should...given that the capital space ships could be so impossibly large, fighters flying around with wings while not in an atmosphere, shooting laser cannons, warping, etc. Basically, there's a suspension of disbelief coming from sci-fi, but there's also an element of realism where you're actually flying around and it feels right.

There's so much freedom in game that people can band together to form massive alliances to fight other alliances for control, fly a smuggling ship around to gather resources for your team, simply explore the galaxy as a lone pilot, or many more things. You can even be a guard on a capital ship and have laser fights if people happen to board.

This MMORPG has it's own in game economy that you can use to buy better ships and also hand out to people to entice others to join your cause. To get money you can steal other people's supplies from their ships, take over a planet due to having space superiority (the game doesn't support land battles, so surround the planet and you get it), or other ways, such as even paying real world money. People can be professionals at this game and even play so well that they make money off of it, usually at the expense of people that they dominate. The main object of the game is to destroy some one-of-a-kind super capital ship controlled by the creator of the game. Although this ship can warp around to random locations in this expansive universe, making it super rare to even find it, 5 separate attacks have managed to have been made, some of them large scale, but entire fleets have been crushed, causing thousands of dollars in damage due to ships being destroyed having to be bought again with in game currency, potentially costing real money to get back the funds. Some people claim that it's impossible and the ship is hacking and just there to make people waste their money, but some people are not so convinced and have made it their goal to conquer this ship and win the honor, recognition, and not to mention the reward money that this feat would bring.

The story will focus on an underdog alliance of less then 10 members to start out with. Some of them might be from the same high school class so know each other, but people from all over the world can join in. At the start their commander bought some rarely used command ship that's considered to be the weakest of them all, but at the time he/she didn't know that and spent a lot of the group's combined starting money (given for free when first starting the game) and of course there are no refunds. Some members bought other smaller ships to dock in it's hanger, and together this weakest ever command ship is flying around trying to get some recognition for themselves in order to get more members to join them. Some of the competing alliances have members in the thousands, have far better ships, and recruit players who play professionally. Can this newbie alliance beat the odds and become the most powerful alliance that the game has ever seen and defeat the elusive ship controlled by the game's creator?
