Jump City, otherwise known as the River City. Called such because of the wide river that flows right through it. It is also a city of new beginnings, as it had become a popular place to move to. With crime-ridden slums like Gotham and Rotten City making life miserable for their inhabitants, Jump City stands tall as a haven for those with good hearts, a beacon of hope for Justice. It's not perfect, though. Jump City, as clean and bright as it is compared to the likes of Gotham, it still has it's problems. Whether it's Corporate Tycoons seeking to exploit the good people, or criminals trying to get a hold on the city as strongly as other places, Jump City has begun a slow decline. However, Jump City will not fall without a fight, for it has something those other cities do not: Heroes. In most places, those with superhuman power use that power for evil, but in this city, there are those who would use their power for good.

It was midday, the sun shone brightly over the ever-expanding cityscape as a humanoid figure flew overhead like a bird. Star Blazer, Jump City's newest resident superhero, soared over the city with a watchful eye. He briefly buzzed a school, children waving up at him as he did so, he returned the gesture with a smile. He had already decided that if he was going to devote himself to protecting the city, he was going do it while emulating the legendary Superman as best as he could. After all, just about everyone loved Superman, and for good reason. He was, well, Superman. That was the kind of connection Star Blazer wanted to create with his own city. It wouldn't be easy, nothing ever was, but he also didn't want to simply be labeled a vigilante like others he had heard of.
The sound of a news chopper cut Star Blazer off from his thoughts. A quick survey told the budding superhero exactly what was going on. Police were chasing a speeding van down the highway. The van in question was, of course, black and completely unmarked, not exactly surprising. Perhaps they were robbers trying to get away, or were holding someone hostage? Perhaps they were both? Not that it mattered, all Star Blazer cared about was stopping them before someone got hurt. Tightening his arms and legs together to make himself more narrow, Star Blazer increased his speed as he began to make a descent. He zoomed past the chopper without stopping, no doubt he was going to end up on the news report later. But he paid it no mind, Star Blazer only had his sights set on the van. It was easy catching up to it, he was flying after all, but rather than go in guns blazing he decided to try the diplomatic approach.
Having flown up beside the van, Star Blazer casually tapped on the driver's side window. The man looked, widened his eyes in surprise, and immediately pointed a handgun and started shooting out the window at his new pursuer. Not that it would do any good. Avoiding the bullets was a simple matter of putting on the breaks, so to speak, as Star Blazer simply allowed himself to slow down suddenly before instantly picking up his speed again, "Well, it was worth a try..." he said to himself as he banked around the other end of the van and overtook it in speed so that he would end up in front of it. This time he wasn't giving any warning. Star Blazer simply twisted around and suddenly stopped, grabbing the front of the van as it slammed into him. He was pushed back maybe a few feet before the vehicle was forced into a stop. Star Blazer had to be quick, though, since these guys were probably not going to wait around to be captured.
Indeed, they started piling out, though one of them apparently thought they were going to shoot Star Blazer. Without really thinking about it, Star Blazer threw a quick starbolt, the green energy colliding with the gun and knocking it out the assailant's hand, "Naughty, naughty." Star Blazer teased as he quickly flew around to cut off their retreat before just charging into them. They tried to fight, but between his super strength and fair martial skill, Star Blazer had them KO'ed in no time. The police, of course, had caught up by this time and had the men surrounded. His job, done, Star Blazer gave a quick salute to the authorities and he was back in the air as suddenly as he had shown up in the first place.
"Yet another crime foiled by the bright new star himself, Star Blazer." the report would later say about the matter. Of course some reports would probably try to blame the hero for any collateral damage done in the process, but that's just the media for you.
