Pirates! {Interest Check}

So, Pirates! Considering the hundreds of pirate related stories, I don't think we'll be bothering with any set goal. One at a time, I think, we'll all just vote on what story to run through next! The fountain of youth, a battle with the Kraken, a run-in with Blackbeard, perhaps. All up to whoever is interested later on.

The main idea?

Your generic pirate RP, of course! We'll start as a shipless, ragtag crew of badasses and scurvy dogs, steal a wonderful ship (Probably from the British or Spanish navy) and set sail! Most of the RP will be spent -on- the ship, sailing the seas. We'll run into other ships, as well! Maybe a merchant ship for us to raid, maybe a British/Spanish Naval ship to battle, or another Pirate ship to befriend or raid! We'll work in Arcs, most likely. Between every arc, the players will vote on what wonderful pirate story we should make our main goal next. A treasure hunt, maybe? Some cursed gold? The fountain of youth? The murder of Blackbeard? The -befriending- of Blackbeard? All entirely up to popular vote between arcs.

Skipping back a topic- Not -all- of the RP will be based on deck. We'll make port often enough to get supplies, raid a town, hunt for treasure on a deserted island, or just spend a night on shore for all you scurvy dogs to keep entertained with ale, more ale, some extra ale, and a big ass barfight! Well, maybe not the last one. Unless you really want to. Throw a mug at someone, sucker punch them if you like. It'll probably start a ruckus.

Also jumping topics- Don't expect nothing extremely abnormal. This is the Caribbean, after all! We might find some cursed gold that turns us into undead beasts, (Hell yeah I'm referencing Pirates of the Caribbean) or get attacked by giant, man eating crabs! Maybe a random plague will strike our ship, and we'll be flying the Jolly Roger for real! Perhaps we'll get ambushed by mermaids, strangled by sea serpents, blown up by random meteors! Nothing is out of question here!

So, on to the end of the interest check. For now, I'm just looking for people interested, all that stuff. Come the OOC, I'll go into more detailed stuff. Like Character sheets and such. Come one come all, and be a scurvy sea dog with me!

As a side note, we'll need five or six players- the rest of the crew will be NPCs. After all- Too few it gets boring, too many and we'll end up dead within a week.

Skills: [Can you cook? Can you shoot? Can you swing across ships on ropes and board people? Dual wield maybe? You can be badass, because we're pirates, but -do- keep it reasonable. No cannon lifting giant from hell that can clear the deck of a Spanish Galleon single handed.]

Now, the Captain!

Name: William "The Demon" Edwards or "Captain Will"

Gender: Male

Skills: Every skill a captain needs! A commanding attitude, some serious dual wielding skills, be it sword or pistol, and the general ability to kick some ass. He knows how to run his ship and crew, and isn't one to sit back while it happens. He'll be right there hoisting that sail with you, or up top steering the ship. Abnormal for a pirate- He's a ridiculously strong swimmer. Three minutes under water? No problem. Swim to shore from wreckage? Sure thing. He's also intelligent- But more in a battle smart, clever sort of way, not a book smart way.

Combat Job: He's a true jack of all trades. He can load and light a cannon, blast you with a rifle, or swing across to board you, slashing and blasting away with swords and pistols.

General Job: Captain- He does it all. He'll steer the ship, hoist the sails, mop the decks, shout the orders, and even cook for his lads! Not that it's a good idea to eat what he cooks, as it generally tastes like shit.

Personality: Captain Will is quite a strange man in his habits. On the ship, he's strong, commanding, and sure of himself and his crew. A respectable, and respectful, man. On shore, he'll probably be in the nearest bar, getting hammered with his crew, and starting bar fights. Or upstairs, surrounded by women.

Bio: Captain Will holds a mysterious past, and hardly ever shares it with anyone, even his trusted crew. What -is- known about him? Naught but a year ago, he broke out of a British prison, killed ten guards, and commandeered a ship single handedly. He sailed off in search of a crew, lost the ship, and is after a new one. Some say it's all just legend, some believe it's true. There are even some who say he has a bad history with the infamous Blackbeard. A battle in which he lost his right eye, and took Blackbeard's left hand in return. None can be sure if it's true, but he never denies or agrees with the rumors.

Appearance:

What isn't visible- His right eye is covered with a faded black leather eyepatch. His left eye is a bright grey in color, almost silver. He bears numerous scars- Not so many as to suggest he is clumsy in battle, but enough to suggest he's seen his fair share of it. Most notable of his scars, however, is the webbing of raised scars across his back, suggesting a lashing. The hood is usually down, unless he's in port and trying not to be seen.
Weapons- Four pistols; Two (Visible) on his chest, and two in the small of his back. His dual swords are also visible. He keeps a long dirk in his boot, and five throwing knives in a special sheath on his shoulder.

Name: John Geare 'The Master Tactician'

Gender: Male

Skills: He is the best tactician in the seven seas. He is skilled in the use of a sword and a pistol.

Combat Job: Tactician/swordsman

General Job: Tactician

Personality: He is what he looks like, a wise old man. He is the type of person who would risk his own life for someone he didn't particularly like if it helped the crew. While he has to be under command for his job he doesn't particularly like people making changes to his tactics.

Bio: Geare grew up in the highlands of Scotland. Most of his childhood consisted of him playing a game similar to a battle with his friends. Of course he made the plan of action and became the favourite to have on a time. When he was of age he joined the navy and became widely recognized as a brilliant tactician. Although at one point he noticed how a lot of the navy would rape and murder in the name of their commanding officer. After that he abandoned them at the nearest port and bought a new set of clothes, armour and a pistol. He became a 'problem solver' after that and was often visited by pirates wanting to know how to kill their enemies the quickest. Recently he has joined a ship and plans to minimize rape and murder and maximize profit.

He carries a one handed longsword and a single flintlock pistol that is covered by his jacket.
