Saying it's an already in place franchise, (no matter how obscure,) will guarantee people being scared off if they haven't heard of it.
By replacing "Shadowrun" with "This World" I create the illusion that we are working in a very lucid enviroment, that makes posters feel more comfortable with contributing, while this IS the Shadowrun world, I don't want to scare off potential noobs. This way I can introduce them, and maybe when it's all over slip-in, "By the way, this is based on a tabletop game, if you're interested here are some books to read."
