Located at the Frost Point headquarters was a young female waterbender named Sura. Since she joined the gang, she had been treated fairly harshly by some men in the gang, most of whom were from the Northern Water Tribe. Of course not all the men were like that. Men from the Southern Water Tribe were kinder and much more supportive of her. Sura had been grouped with the other women in the gang who were only allowed to heal and perform simple tasks. Asides from her treatment in the gang, her life was pretty okay. She was able to get some training in every now and then in secret, but not exactly enough if you ask her. There were times where she tried to find ways to show the leader and the other men in the tribe that she and the other women should be allowed to use their water bending for combat, but it never worked.
Sura and the other members were being called to a meeting, most likely to discuss the new fight club that would be started soon. The Frost Point Leader was currently gone for whatever reason and the second in command, a Southern Water tribe man, was in charge for the time being. He stood at the front of the large group and after they started to quiet down, he began to speak. "The reason I've called you all here should already be clear. As you all may know, the avatar has announced that a fight club will go on once every week and we must find a tribute to send! Now, obviously this fight club won't be easy and whoever goes will be up against powerful opponents." He paused a moment and scanned the crowd of tribesmen. " I want someone who finds themselves strong enough to take on these opponents! Now, I could simply choose someone I see fit, but I will anyone to volunteer. From there will I choose who will be our tribute. Now then who would like to volunteer!" He then scanned the group. Most of the men stared at each other trying to see if any man was brave enough to try and volunteer.
Sura had already started contemplating volunteering for the fight club. After hearing that anyone could volunteer , her hopes rose even more! The second-in-command was from the Southern Water Tribe too and he might be more lenient about her volunteering as well. Today was her lucky day wasn't it? After making her decision, she quickly raised her hand in the air. "I'd like to volunteer sir!" Sura yelled. Seconds after she spoke, everyone's head turned to her. She was met with a variety of looks, most of which carried somewhat negative expressions. The second-in-command stared at her, questioning whether he should allow her to volunteer. Once the leader came back, he definitely would not be happy knowing she would be the one fighting in the name of Frost Point, but no one else seemed to be trying to volunteer. "Is there..anyone else willing to volunteer?" He asked hoping a few other hands would show up. There was only silence though. The second-in-command stood in silence for a few moments before speaking once again. "Very well then, Sura shall be our tribute. However if anyone else decides they'd like to volunteer then I will choose from the others who volunteer. I will need a couple of men to train with Sura until the time of the fight club, everyone else may go back to their original duties for now."
With that, Sura was now the tribute for Frost Point! Well, at least until someone else decided they wanted to be the tribute instead. Everyone dispersed and Sura was left with a couple of water benders who she would be training with. Before going to the Frost Point's trading grounds, Sura went to get her buffalo yak Akia. She mounted herself onto the buffalo yak and headed towards the training grounds. She had a feeling that today was the start of something big! Maybe after this, the guys would respect her a little more. Maybe even the Frost Point leader would have some change of heart! She just had to bet everything on this fight club.
