For once, this story does not start with a good beginning. Nothing is good to the story at all, really. It was a time when people had discovered that a certain power remains within them, drawn from a place called the Gloom or the Twilight. It is a world that feeds off of magic, a force created by emotions and feelings. To step into the Twilight always brought forth the forces within the person and allowing them to become what each refers to as Others. Depending on their feelings at the moment they step into the Twilight or through their own choice, they either join the Light or Dark Others. They are all in all the same, but they gain their magic through different emotions. Dark Others gain their magic from negative feelings, such as anger and pain, while Light Others absorb joy for their magic.

Now the story is reaching a twist, as the Light and Dark Others began fighting each other. At a particular bloody battle, the leaders had realized that a win would not come forth out of this and they made the Great Treaty, allowing a truce between the Others and forming a law on how to use the powers. Along with them, the Nightwatch and the Daywatch have been established, groups of people that watch over the other party of Others. The Nightwatch is a group of Light Others watching the Dark Others, while the Daywatch is the opposite. To allow objective justice, a mixed group of Others were created; the Inquisition.

Today, the world has become a much better place. Others keep living together and abide the laws that the Great Treaty had created. Much of the Others barely know the difference, if it weren't for the Nightwatch and Daywatch. Especially in the States, far away from the original establishments of Others under the eyes of Geser and Zabulon, they have learned to get their problems done on their own, without any affiliations involved at all.

Welcome my dear RPGuild friends. I hope you are as interested as I am to join a RP of magics and fights.
This is the World of Watches, written by Sergei Lukyanenko. Out of the five books that he had written, I have not read any of it, but I watched the two film adaptations to the first novel. Though highly trashy, they still intrigued me with the special setting to it. I am still looking for a way to get my hands on the novels

For those not knowing much of the World of Watches, here are some things you might want to know:

The Gloom/The Twilight: A place parallel to the human/normal world. It is a dark place and the source of the powers of the Others. It feeds on the magic and energies of those within it. If not properly trained, Others loose themselves within the Gloom and disappear. It is divided in various levels, each becoming a more abstract form of the world and it's magical fluxes.

Others: Humans with special powers. Their powers vary in massive sorts, from magicians to vampires. They all draw their powers from magic, a force created by the emotions and feelings of people. They affiliate themselves to either the Light or Dark Others.

Race: The powers of the Others can be defined in races. One of the most common races are Magicians and Vampires, but there are also Werewolves and Succubi/Incubi. More about each race here.

Once more a big welcome for you guys reading through this. I hope I have not spoiled anyone's interest. Let us deal the cards then. Character sheets in the normal fashion, so nothing too fancy.
Please keep in mind that the opening posts will be the moment your characters will find out that they are actually Others. You'll see when the RP starts.

Bio: For a person such as Dana, life was the simple rush of school and party. Drinking booze grew a habit of hers that made her quickly grow resistant to see things that normally do not happen. As she drifted through a cold Christmas night, she stepped into the Gloom and found herself just seconds later in her appartment, fur spread across her bed from which she rose. Since then, Dana works at an alcohol shop or more commonly works with the Nightwatch to get things rolling smoothly in the life of the Others.

Bio: Created from the body of the daughter of a great mage who could not accept her death. She holds some vague memories of he living years, but is as mechanical as any other golem. She has lived her life as she would have if she had never died.

Bio: Kat is a business woman at heart, her body her tool and sex her currency, but she does well to stay within the rules laid upon her (no pun intended) and works for the highest paying customer whether her own inherent talents are being utilized or something more devious in nature. She's strong and stubborn and willing to do whatever it takes to rise to the top of life and take from anyone she can while she does so.

Byron stands at 6'1, he has a skinny but muscular build, blonde hair and blue eyes.

Race: Magician - Illusions and deception

Bio: Byron is a drifter, conman and all round trickster. He does things because he sees the fun in it or to prove his skills too himself, however he does have a simple sense of honor and follows some rules, basic as they are. Byron tries to do nothing against the poor, cripple or elderly, unless they deserve it and he is a sucker for a sexy lady. As he is a conman he can never stay in one place for everyone so he is well traveled and used to being on his own.
