Since the beginning of time, man has looked to the stars and wondered....are we alone? For thousands of years, the idea of life outside our planet has been met with skepticism and even hostility. We probably would have never guessed that we'd have discovered that their is life outside of Earth but more impressively, the creation of Earth life on the most hostile environment known on Earth.

On August 31st, 2012, a research team in Antarctica was taking core samples when they stumbled upon the discovery of a life time. A crashed alien craft. It appeared to have been there for at least 1000 years but no one could tell. The craft served as an adequate shelter as a massive storm came rolling through. While hunkered down in the alien craft, it only seemed reasonable by the scientists that they should study this massive ship. The scientists stumbled across an alien corpse, a corpse that appeared to have died by a disease of some kind do to ancient sores and missing flesh. Along with the corpse, they discovered an artifact. After touching the cube, it seemed to activate.....something. It released a high pitched sound and began to glow. After that nothing.

A week after the discovery, the scientists began studying the corpse, discovering that the creature's DNA was remarkable similar to that of humans and primates. The research team published their findings and only by sheer luck did another discovery add credibility to the claim.

On September 3rd, NASA scientists discovered a massive object on Mars, something that appeared to have been there for a long time. Scientists called it 'The Rift' as it appeared the object was the source of the energy reading. The object in question appeared to be allowing something to come through as more power signatures began to appear.

Only a week after the discovery of the Rift, the massive ships were sighted passing the Moon. After that, it only took a few days for the ships to reach the Earth. From there, the invasion began. Massive pods landed on the Earth's surface in major cities and The First Wave began construction of multiple Jump Gates, allowing for more infantry and more mechs to come through from the ships. The invasion is still on, and we're losing. The military's weaponry isn't adequate enough to destroy the mechs and the infantry are too many. The military are trying to evacuate the cities as people are running out of the major cities, but no one can be sure if there's anywhere safe to run.
